Is it the same zungeru Dam that was commissioned by the last administration? I also like to know what happened to the power that was diverted from going to Niger Republic since they were disconnected, because there has not been any visible difference in the power supply here.

Until they got there and saw that saboteurs and enemies of Nigeria full ground.

Offpoint1:
grin in Lil wayne voice "same old shxt, just a different toilet, as long as it's coming out that azz... It smells"

Just like yesterday one Buhari minister said there were going to fix power problem in 6 months and we were going to enjoyed 24hrs power.... Guess where we are now?

They said PDP destroyed Nigeria in 16 years, APC did it in less than 4 years grin

Never seen government so comfortable in lies to the extent they've started believing in their own lies.

APC fans are either brain dead or they're completely out of touch with reality.

Trust me most things are common sense and not rocket science and at his level he is not suppose to be an electrician.

Even me know it’s less of a transmission problem but distribution is also just a part of the problem customer tampering to receive light free is another big one.

When tampering happens arije ninu madaru Nigerian staff just collect shinkini bribe money and move on. That is another cost of fraud and corruption on both sides and the post paid people suffer it.

This man - Adelabu is only ranting because he fails to understand that our power problem is beyond generation but transmission and distribution. What is the excess of generating power in quantum while transmission lines lack the capacity to convey it to the end users. The late Chief Bola Ige and Babatunde Fashola once boost of achieving this feat but ended up disappointing Nigerians. We need Electrical Engineers like myself to resolve our power issues. Most of these appointed ministers lack the capacity to understand how power generation, transmission and distribution network works and as such end up achieving nothing unless they gather a sound Engineering team who will help build a roadmap to power sustainability with strong policy implementation mechanism in place.

Transmission is the major issue.
Thanks for speaking my mind.
They have to stop talking what they don't understand deeply.

Transmission is the major issue because transmission of electricity is a MONOPOLY function of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The sole transmission company in Nigeria is called the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). It was the part of NEPA/PHCN retained under FULL OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL of the Federal Government. Most people don't understand that the Federal Government is in complete and total control of the electricity sector, that the so-called privatization was designed to keep it under control.

Transmission of electricity is non-functional because it's owned by the Federal Government. That's the same reason why National Theatre Iganmu, the 4 NNPC refineries and all the Ajaokuta Steel companies and also National Television Authority and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and the Federal Universities and Federal Medical Centers are inefficient, corrupt and non-producing.

Remember NITEL used to be the SOLE MONOPOLY phone operator in Nigeria and it was owned by the Federal Government. Those of you who are young should ask your elders how many people in Nigeria had phone before the sector was deregulated and privatized. NITEL and it's mobile branch called Mobitel existed for 30 or so years and only managed to provide 1 million phone lines. Only the rich had phones when government controlled phones, just like only the rich get the best university education in Federal Universities. Nigerians please wake up!!!!

Every problem in Nigeria is rooted in Government ownership and control, government regulation of prices and government control of markets so the solutions to ALL of the problems in Nigeria is simple. It's called FREE MARKETS and suffering will continue until it's applied in EVERY SECTOR the same way it was applied in telecoms, cement and broadcasting. It's not an option, it's the ONLY solution.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

We are already enjoying far improved and stable electricity here in Lagos! This is the best time to invest in Nigeria.

Invest in Lagos and other neighbouring Yoruba SW states today and our land will bless you and your investment for as long as you don't involve in our local politics and don't hate your Yoruba host. God bless Nigeria for ever!Check my signature for free stuffs!
But that is not the case in Warri because we are seriously suffering lack of power.

Very backwards in all things... in this day and age when every other serious nation is embracing solar power generation, we are still trying and failing woefully at hydro electricity. When others are leaving petrochemical for electric and hydrogen powered vehicles, we don't even have one functional refinery. When they are developing electric and magnetic trains... let's not even go there for now undecided
Tired of these people and their excuses for under and non performance.

He can only succeed if he's ready to fight cabals behind power problem.

It's unfortunate that El Rufai failed moral test. I would have preferred him to handle power bcoz he doesn't have respect for anyone. He has the political will to dismantle any encumbrance along his way.

I wish him well.

Zengeru power plant is supplying 1200 mega wat, it is owned by Otedola, who is not an engineer but a business man,

What we need in the power sector is a good manager that can bring investors in

Nothing to get excited here, until we start seeing the improved power supply.

That was what Fashola still said in his time but what happened at the end? Constant light we didn't see. Believe these people at your own peril.

Please can someone close to that minister pass this to him? Cuz it shows he may end up not achieving anything as he doesn't fully understand that the issue of the unstable power in Nigeria is not just generation but more of transmission.

Please, you guys should find way pass this info to the minister. Cuz it seems he still doesn't understand this yet.

Anyone close to the minister should tell him Nigeria power issue is transmission. So much generated power is being wasted due to inability to transmit it.

I agree with you 100%.

Do you know that Transmission Facility in Nigeria is still far better than distribution infrastructure?
We provide consultancy to Ikeja Electric in my office.
Power loss is too much within the distribution infrastructure.

You only ranted above. Are you aware states now have the power to generate their own electricity?

The guy you quoted was right.

Generation is all very well, but it don't mean much if transmission is in a bad way. Yes...Siemens, but it is going to take a lot more to improve, especially if generation passes 30000mw.

They should equally curb all the electricity exportation to Neighboring WA countries that are not paying for what they consume. Charity begins at home.
