Changing the common law definition of marriage to include gay couples implies that that the same permit and visa options apply to immigration visas for homosexuals as they do heterosexuals. This includes life partner and spousal visas and permits. So don't make it look as if there's a special consideration for gay people.

Meanwhile, other countries are working towards an egalitarian society where everyone is respected regardless of race, gender, sexuality, class, etc., but Nigerians are bent on maintaining thier "I better pass you" lifestyle.
