In normal circumstances, each of the two leadership styles have their places of application. The only difference between the two is that one of them is slower than it's children because him don see say wetin the children dey chase no make sense.

There's no single pattern/template to lead. Leadership styles are tailored to unique circumstances and it can as well be influenced by the maturity level of the followers.
In the first example, mother hen knows that the chicks are prey to hawks and other predators, therefore she has to watch over them through their routine whereas, there was no prevailing danger on the second, the duck can lead the way.
Secondly, the mother hen knows that the chicks are not matured and might not be wise enough to maintain a safe distance so, she has to watch over them at all times while the second knows the characteristics of her followers and she was not afraid to let them work (walk) with minimal supervision.
So, both Leadership styles are good.

The number 1 denotes a protective trait of how a parent will be behind watching out for intruders and predators and the need to be at alert while her offerings are going about without worries as their parent “have” their back.

The number 2 on the other hand demonstrates leadership and mentoring skills by walking the talk. She leads while the offspring follows. The best way to be successful in life and business is by having a leader/mentor who will hold you by the hand and show you how to do certain things, by doing so you won't have to make the mistakes they made while learning the ropes themselves.

Each of these leaders is unique in their own way and that tells you that everyone has their own leadership philosophies, my leadership principle is a servant leader same way others have their unique ways of leading people.
