Would you prefer we buy fuel at N900 to a liter?

Our major problem is lack of functioning refineries. A partial subsidy is still better than nothing.
imagine! Like for real? Did you listen to yourself at all How did Buhari maintained and paid same subsidy in full and fuel was sold at N185?

Stop lying Buhari never called that subsidy removal and never made any such announcement. Buhari always insisted that fuel was never subsidized, so increasing fuel price to N145 was a price hike (which is all it was) but not called subsidy removal because you cannot remove something that was never there.

All those who claimed things will even out eventually, how's that going right now? Isn't it about time things evened out?

All this rush to remove subsidy how has it benefited the nation? It has practically left the common man worse off!

Guy, what on earth do you want the govt to do. . ?

Are you a mad man?

Do you have someone in senate or the executives that is transferring stolen funds to you?

If he did not subsidize, that means PMS right now will be at N860 in Lagos by NNPC at best end price. . and if he had not been pegging the dollar at N1,000 range since the past 2 months, most importers including the Oil Marketers will have been getting a dollar at around N1,600 by now. .

Check my previous posts and you will know am not a Tinubu or APC advocate, but look, as humans, we must adjust and re-adjust just to get things right.

Why do people even talk like this. . Can you pay N1,600 per Litre now? Which is the reality of the status of NGN). Is so annoying. .

But buhari removed same subsidy and fuel was sold below 200

Buhari's subsidized is185 naira/litre
Tinubu's subsidized is 620 naira/litre
Is your brain not working

Bro, APC is a government of rogues and thieves, check the price of refined fuel in the international market in 2013 - 2015, compare the price with the amount we paid in subsidy between these two years and the amount we bought fuel per litre in Nigeria between these years; Now compare these figures with those of 2021 - 2023, your eye will open clearer, no matter any miscellaneous you add up there, and any other factor you might want to consider, the result will boggle your mind!

Let us say Naira in circulation when Buhari was there was only two trillion naira in total. It has definitely increased to around three trillion naira by printing and that is why the dollar is now changing at one thousand naira currently from around seven hundred naira. This was happening even when the President was not a crook using the id of a woman to operate. How much more now?. So the only way out is for statebgo ernments to generate their own revenue as is the case in Lagos, so that there will be less need for printing money by the FG. However they can still print solely for the purpose of stealing the funds. They do that all the time. Emefiele said in court that he was releasing 500 billion naira per month illegally to a woman as directed by Buhari. So it is what it is. The best actually is a break up of the country

The panacea to this problem is reviving the refineries gone comatose. No nation makes steady progress without functioning region Refineries.

And ironically, Nigeria is the only OPEC nation without functioning refinery. The shame is on us.

When will the refineries function to avoid these wahala

Buhari should have removed the subsidy at the beginning of his first term, though I can see how his own party might have resisted since no one would vote for them with N620 a litre fuel.

Until we make our own fuel from our own crude oil, politicians will either subsidise or watch Nigerians suffer and not reelect them.

If before the removal of subsidy, we at the least have 2 major refineries working, would have mitigate what we are all facing today! I can't just understand how a country as big as Nigeria cannot have a workable refinery to take care of domestic consumption, it beats my imagination.

It was Vanguard news that chose to call the price hike subsidy removal, nowhere in that story did they indicate that Buhari called the price hike subsidy removal

My challenge to you is that you can never find anytime in history that any govt has ever announced that they are subsidizing fuel. That should help you understand that fuel has never been subsidized.

Nigeria is a crude oil producer, and with working refineries the price of refined oil will come down, all this useless globalisation determining the price of crude oil in the local market is rubbish.

Nigeria is just not productivity and has to much dollar debt

“So, if the exchange rate comes down today, we will not be paying subsidy. But with the exchange rate value and the price of crude oil in the international market, we have introduced subsidy,” the PENGASSAN boss said.

If a country isn't work why do you ipob say the only solution is to break it up?
How does breaking up a country suddenly make the country to work better? Where are the case evidence in world history undecided ?

If no Nigeria a Yoruba country will not be worse off than Ghana or Cote D'Ivoire. Biafra will not be worse than Cameroon etc. Interest is difficult to be aligned in Nigeria and that is the main problem

You are a good example of the problem of Nigeria. You leave the problem facing the country and demand that our leaders take proactive steps to profer solution or resign if they don't have the solution. You are busy casting blames at others.

Managing an economy effectively is never done by propaganda or ethnic politics and sentiments. Macro economics works by scientific mix of fiscal and monetary policies taking various factors into consideration at the appropriate timing.

It was a major error for President Tinubu to have announced the end of subsidy at the time he did without first putting in place certain cushioning measures. It was also a fatal error to float the naira almost at the same time with subsidy removal knowing that Nigeria is a highly import dependant country. I never believed that a day will ever come when the naira will exchange one dollar at over N1000.
