THE SQUARE HOLE (Episode 1)

"...I'll be the last thing you see in your life." She pulled the trigger and shot him down.

7 years ago,

"What are we going to do now, my exam starts in few days and I am hungry as well, I don't have a dime on me, I can't even feed myself, I have been moving around my friends places to eat like birds, I am tired but don't worry, i will look for a construction site i can work in the evening to see if i can get a job, i will send you the little i see, just don't let that weigh you down, concentrate on your preparations, i will try my best" Shogo assured.

His brother Yele assured him he would bring them out of poverty and take good care of them if he could get the job.

It was almost midnight in the campus as Yele ply the road to the library when he started hearing a lady screaming and begging for mercy in the dark part of the bushy path.

He ducked and moved closer to the place to see that two young boys were struggling with a lady. He picked a plank on the floor and charged at them.

"Hey, you dey there, leave her now before I charge men come meet una." He yelled but was scared as well. These boys left the lady and ran away.

They happened to be two young boys.

He ran towards the lady and brought her out of the bush.

"What are you doing here alone at this time of the night, are you new in this school to know that you can't be walking alone at night as a lady, especially on this path, all these indigens would come at you and take advantage of you, are you a fresher?" He queried.

She panted and cried.

All her body was full of bruises and her clothes were turned.

Yele saw this and asked if they had done anything to her but she said no.

"Where do you live?"

"Hamzat hostel." She replied.

"Hamzat hostel? That is in the town and you came all the way from there to the school to do what at this time of the night?"

"I came to read at the library, the noise was too much and I needed a cool place to read. I didn't know it would be dangerous here, I thought the campus would be safer." She cried as she explained.

Yele was confused for a minute.

"Okay, it's good they did not do anything to you, do you still want to read or go back home?" He asked.

" I don't even know, I am not sure I can read again, my body is aching, I am shaking and devastated, I want to go home." She cried.

"Okay, I'll lead you half way then come back because I need to study. Yele said and she agreed.

"I am Yele, what is your name?"

"My name is Agata." She replied.

He escorted her out of the school, he walked her up the road and turned. He told her he had to go back to the library to read but Agata looked scared. She looked around, everywhere was dark and quiet. Anything could happen to her on her way to the house.

If she could be attacked on the campus that means she is not safe outside the campus. Yele saw this disturbed expression in her and told her she would be fine but she was not convinced. She persuaded him to escort her to his house and then he could go back to the school.

A lot ran through his mind. The little food in his stomach was burning away into talking and walking. He had exams and needed to read that night so that he can use the following day to look for a construction site to work so that he can send his brother some money. But right in front of him is a lady who did not know what he was going through but only fighting for her own safety.

"Agata, I have a lot in my head, I don't have the strength to walk you up to your house, I need to use the little food in me to…"

He had not finished his statement before Agata spoke up.

"There is food in the house, you could read in my house too, we could read together please, I am scared please, don't leave me here." She pleaded as she looked around in fear.

That sounded like a good idea to Yele. If there would be food to eat, why won't he protect her.

He pretended not to buy into the idea so as not to appear cheap and hungry but she begged him to accept her offer so that they can leave the dark quiet environment they were in. He accepted and they walked the silent road together.

She clocked her arm in his arm and shivered at the slight sound coming from the bush. Yele did not fiddle a bit. It was his third year in the university. He knows the bushes, the dangerous places and the safe places. He knew the road was not a dangerous one.

When they got to her hostel. She opened the door and invited him in.

Her room setting shows that she was from a rich home. It was a self -contained room.

Her wardrobe was filled with clothes, a big bed with big Teddy bears, one could tell that her favorite color was pink because everywhere in the room was pinky including her walls. She had a mini television, a mini stereo and a decoder.

The scent of the room was welcoming.

"Please have your seat." She said.

He sat on the edge of the bed and looked around.

"You have a nice room, everything looks beautiful and nice." He said.

"Thank you, give me a few minutes, let me get to the kitchen to warm the food so that you can eat, I'll be back." She said.

The kitchen was just a door away from the room. She went into the kitchen and shut the door behind her.

A Few minutes later, she came into the room with a food tray. In the tray was a plate of rice, a plate of pepper sauce with chicken meat, and in another plate were fried plantain. She handed it over to him and opened the mini fridge that was just beside the bed. She brought out a chilled coke and placed it beside him.

As if he was dreaming, he stared at the food and was already salivating. His stomach rumbled and he couldn't wait to devour it.

'I need to shower and apply some solutions to my bruises, please eat and relax before we start reading. " She said and went into the bathroom.

Yele devoured the food like a hungry lion.

A few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom but met Yele on the bed snoring already.

It's been a while since he found himself in such a welcoming and conducive environment coupled with the delicious and nutritious food he had not eaten in months. His body system reacted to the convenience and sent him to the dreamland.

I guess reading could wait.

THE SQUARE HOLE. (Episode 2)

The golden cock crows as the sun gradually takes over duty from the night.

Yele slowly opened his eyes and saw Agata laying just beside him.

He was confused for a minute trying to figure out where he was. His brain was trying to process what happened when Agata opened her eyes too and sat on the bed.

"Good morning, you really had a good sleep, you did not move a finger since you slept off." She said.

It was that moment he remembered everything that happened.

"Oh my God, you should have woken me up, I needed to read overnight so that I can…oh…I have to go now please, thanks for the food and the comfortable bed, I need to go." He said as he rushed up.

Agata was surprised.

"Where are you going? It's just 6:07am, why are you in a rush?" She wondered.

"See, it's a long story, I have an exam coming up and i have to read, I also have my brother I need to send money to, I need to find somewhere to hustle for that money, he needs to go for a job interview this evening, see, forget it, you can't understand. Thanks again, hopefully we'll cross paths again." He rushed up, wore his slippers and rushed out of the house.

Agata couldn't process what he just said.

"What does he mean by he wanted to work to send his brother money?"

She waved it and went back to bed.

Yele did not have any clue where he was going, he looked around to see any ongoing construction where he could meet with the builders but it was too early to see people working on site.

He was standing beside the road when he saw some young men approaching with cutlasses, they looked like they were going to the farm or going to work somewhere. He approached them and discussed how he needed a daily job. He wasn't sure if they would help him but he needed to speak to someone.

A closed mouth is a close destiny.

One of them responded that they did not know any construction site or any job, what they do is to help people clear weeds from their farmlands, make ridges or even plant for them and that's what they are going to do now.

He asked if he could follow them and they started laughing. They doubted his ability to work since it was obvious to them that he was a student. He convinced them that If he isn't doing good on the job, they should not pay him, he also pleaded that he needed the money. They accepted his request and he followed them.

They were going to cut down the trees and the bushes on land meant for building. A cutlass was handed over to him and he was given a portion to work.

A man derives energy from the pain eating deep in his mind.

Despite not being used to holding a cutlass he needed to do it for a family.

The first fling he made landed on a hard root of the tree and the bounced back which made the wooden base of the cutlass tore a flesh from his palm. He wanted to cry out but that could truncate the opportunity he has.

"Student, is everything okay?" One of the older guys asked.

"Yes sir, everything is fine, it's just a little cut." he replied.

"Little cut? When did you start working that you have started having a cut, let me see." He said, hung his cutlass under his armpit and walked towards Yele.

He touched his hand.

"Ah, this hand is too soft to do this work o, are you sure you can do this? Is it food you want to use the money to buy or what? Can't you call them at home to send you money? What is the exact issue?" He asked with empathy.

" Sir, its not about me, its my brother, we lost our parents and kid sister 5 years ago and it's just me and my brother now, he is hunting for job but I have to hustle here to send him money too to support him." He explained.

The man was dazed.

"Ah, this is serious o, but how do you survive in school?" He asked.

"I help my colleagues with assignments, write notes while I help others with their project. That's what I use to survive in school, I sometimes go to help the canteen people to wash plates, I also follow caterers to events to do ushers or work. Sir, I do any available work to pay my school fees and feed myself but my brother needs the money today that's why I am here, but don't worry sir, I will do it, please don't send me away." He pleaded.

The man heaved a deep sigh.

"Okay, bring the affected hand." He said and Yele stretched forth his hand. He plucked a leaf, squeezed the water on the wound and wrapped it with a piece of clothe.

"This should hold it a bit longer, avoid the hard roots, just clear the soft weeds, I'll come and work on the hard ones when I am done, sorry ehn." He said and walked away.

"Thank you sir, God bless you sir." Yele said and resumed back to work. What the man did to his hand made it look easier as his hand did not have direct contact with the cutlass. The piece of cloth would take the shock instead of his flesh.

At the end of the job, he was paid and he went straight to the POS stand to send the money to his brother.

The interview was scheduled for evening and Shogo promised to try his best to get the job.

He did not know the weight of what he had done. He went back to his hostel, showered and headed to the library to read.

He was happy he was able to support his brother with the little he can.

He settled to read and was about to hold the pen when he realized he couldn't. His palm hurt and his fingers fibble. He felt a strong pain in his palm and couldn't handle the pen.

Few hours after reading, he couldn't continue because of the excruciating pain he was feeling on his palm, so he left the library and headed to the pharmacy to get some pain killers. He was making an inquiry when Agata walked into the pharmacy to also buy pain killers for her body pain.

Yele did not really recognise her face because he had not really looked at her so well during the day but Agata recognised him immediately, if not for anything but for his clothes and bag.

"Yele, how are you? Good afternoon. " She greeted.

He looked at her quizzically.

"I'm sorry, have we met, I did not remember your face." He said with an unsure expression.

"Oh really? Is that how fast you forget people? Just between last night and now?" She fussed and that was what sent the signal into Yele that she was Agata.

On the other hand, he had forgotten what happened the previous night, he did not remember if he met someone or not, he was more concerned about his brother getting the job, his coming exams and also getting a pain reliever.

He apologized.

She sighted his hand that was wrapped with a piece of paper. He asked what happened to him but he tried to hide it. Agata wasn't having it, she pulled up his hand and saw little peels stained with blood.

"Yele, what happened to you, this wasn't there last night, why do you have wounds in your palm?" She questioned with empathy.

"It's nothing, it's just a little bruise." He replied.

"Okay, it's fine, let them treat it for you then and add proper bandage, the piece of rag can contaminate the wound, let them do the proper dressing." She said.

"I'll be fine, I don't have the money to pay for that, even if I have it, using it to dress my wound is the least of my worries but wait, why do you care so much.?" He queried.

"You could have left me and walked away last night but you didn't, you could have just minded your business but you didn't. You did not stop at that, you even escorted me to my house when you were supposed to be in the library reading. Not everyone would do that, for that big act of kindness, I am indebted in you, I owe you a lot, you didn't only save my life, you also saved me from mental shame, public shame and probably suicide. If you could do all that for me, why won't I care when I see a little wound in your palm and worries on your face, I need to reciprocate your kind gesture, now let them dress that wound and give you pain killers, I will take care of the bill." She said and left him speechless.

No act of kindness or wickedness goes in futility.

It will always come back to you.

THE SQUARE HOLE (Episode 3)

"What! You've got to be kidding me, why didn't you tell me, you mean you went to clear bush to get money? Is it that hard? You should have told me." She said.

"I should tell you? I met you just last night and you expect me to be downloading my problems to you? And if I tell you, what would you do? You are a student like me, what can you do?" He quizzed.

"I know I can't do much but at least I won't allow you to go and do a hard job to get money, we would find another way round it. I pray he gets the job though." She said.

Yele's body was only present but his mind was long gone. The breeze of the trees where they sat had taken his mind far away from the presence of Agata. It drove him down the memory lane of when they lost their parents.

5 YEARS AGO

Every sympathizer and family members converged in the sitting room, wailing. It was a great loss to the Benjamin's family for losing three persons to a car accident in a day.

It was a very sad day.

Uncle Kole, junior brother to Yele's father, stood up and started making promises. He promised he would take care of Yele and his elder brother, Shogo, he would sponsor their education to the highest level they wished to reach and also make sure they don't lack. He further claimed that his deceased brother was a good man and the boys he left behind deserve better.

He assured the boys that he would stand in like a father and they have nothing to worry about. The rest of the family members applauded him and also appreciated him for taking the responsibility of taking care of his brother's children.

No will was written, the family decided to put all properties and businesses in care of Uncle Kole since he would be taking responsibilities on the boys. He was trusted to that extent. The boys were excited that they would not miss their parents too much since they have an uncle who would play the role of parents in their lives. They started living with uncle Kole and his family.

Few days after they packed in with uncle Kole, his wife started giving them attitudes, maltreating them and making them do hard house chores. She tagged them spoilt brats who don't know how to do little house works. She would also report them to their uncle when he gets back from work. Uncle Kole would spank them and tell them not to stress or disrespect his wife.

This was strange to the boys, they were not used to the new lifestyle, they cried themselves to bed every night and wished they still had their parents alive.

2 years later, Shogo got admission into the university. Uncle Kole claimed he did not have the money to sponsor his education unless they sell another house owned by their father to sponsor both of them since that was what they did to sponsor their education since they lost their parents. The family couldn't protest, they agreed they sell the remaining properties their father had so as to sponsor their education.

The money generated from the sales of those properties would be enough to sponsor them throughout their university days and also help them get comfortable after school before they get a job.

They sold it and Shogo resumed university. Yele also got an admission 2 years later.

Shogo was in 300L while Yele was in 100L when they heard the shocking news of their lives.

Uncle Kole left the country with his family without telling anyone.

All efforts to reach him went futile.

Shogo and Yele had no other option, other family members had nothing to do because their parent's properties had been sold and Uncle Kole had eloped with the money.

There was nowhere else to go, the boys were left with their fate.

The brothers walked their ways out to get Shogo to graduate through menial jobs and little help from the good members of the family.

Tough time and challenges sharpens you to fight your way through life.

Yele was gone in his deep thought, he got emotional and tears unconsciously dropped profusely from his eyes.

"Are you okay?" Agata asked but he couldn't say a word further, he couldn't control his tears, he lowered his head and cried bitterly.

Indeed, life could come at you anytime, it doesn't consider your age or status quo, it just hit hard and see how you could fight back.

You just have to fight back.

HE SQUARE HOLE (Episode 4)

Agata heaved a deep breathe.

"I am sorry about your family and struggles you had to go through to take good care of yourself, not everyone can survive what you are going through, I can't. I can't imagine losing my parents now, I would just end my life because they are my world and everything, no amount of care can or love from other people can replace them, I pray they live long, please eat and rest then we'll work things out." She said.

Yele devoured the sumptuous meal sge offered him and slept off as usual.

She picked her phone and called her mother. She narrated all that happened to her and how a boy saved her.

"Mum, I love you and dad and I pray you live long, mum, people are going through hard times, he saved me from those boys but he needs help, mum please, help me to speak to dad on behalf of him, I don't want him to be doing menial jobs to sustain himself, he has a good heart and deserves better. He is in 400L now, can he please see him through?" She asked.

Her mother got worried over the phone and asked if the boys did not have their way through before he was rescued. She also asked if she should come down to check up on her but Agata assured her that she is safe and they did not do anything to her.

She assured Agata that she would speak to her father concerning Yele.

Being an only child, they provided her everything and made sure she got everything she wanted.

Her mother did not waste any time, when her father got back from work, she narrated all that happened to him but he was not patient enough to sit down when his daughter's life was in danger. He told his wife to prepare herself, they would drive down to her school the following morning to surprise her.

"Hello my baby, where are you? We are currently in your school." Said her mother.

She rushed to meet them and her father wouldn't stop checking her body for the bruises and also suggested they take her to see a doctor but she assured them that she was fine. She dialed Yele's phone to come and meet her parents, and he showed up a few minutes later.

To appreciate what he did for their daughter, they promised to take responsibility for him while in school, he did not need to struggle to pay his bills or take good care of himself anymore. They would send him a monthly allowance when they are sending to Agata, all he needs to do is to face his studies and make sure he graduates with flying colours.

Agata didn't stop there. She further explained to them that he has a brother who is currently hunting for a job. He pleaded to his parents to help him with a job.

"Agata! You must have special interest in this boy to go all out for him like this." Her mother said jokingly.

"Mum, I know how kind you and dad are to strangers and I see the way you treat people around you. If I am doing the same thing, it means I have you as my mentor." She said and that statement earned her father a big smile.

"I am proud of you, my daughter, I will see what I can do about it. Yele, get my number from my daughter and call me on Wednesday morning to remind me, I'll see what I can do." He said Yele, as a yoruba boy, went on his chest immediately and prostrate or them. Agata's mother rushed to him and pulled him up because it doesn't align with their culture.

"You don't have to do that, you have saved my daughter and we need to reciprocate your kind heart."

They gave the duos some cash, went back into the car and left. Yele was happy and couldn't stop thanking Agata for coming through for him.

As they walked hand in hand on the campus, Agata remembered what her mother said.

"Agata! You must have special interest in this boy to go all out for him like this."

She was right, there was something about Yele that Agata couldn't let go.

Could it be because he saved her or he was the first guy she would relate with since she left her parents, or she just has empathy for him because of what he was going through.

Either way, she thinks she has started falling in love with him.

But is Yele feeling the same way?

THE SQUARE HOLE (Episode 5)

"Yele, where are you? You need to come over to my place, my parents just sent food stuff to us, you need to come and carry yours." Agata said over the phone as she decided on the foods and arranged them.

A few minutes later, she heard a knock on the door, she already knew who it was, she adjusted her black short gown that slightly revealed her cleavages and her glowing light skin body. She adjusted her long curly hair and ran to the door.

She opened the door and Yele was in front of him with his usual school backpack and his white Adieu Papa polo and a faded blue Jean.

There was a glimpse of affection written all over Agata's face , she couldn't hide it. She hugged him and ushered him in.

Yele was confused about what the hug was all about but he was also concerned about the food. He dropped his bag and sat on the bed.

Agata sat beside him.

"How is your hand, hope its healing gradually?" She asked.

"Yes, it is." He replied.

"Let me see." She said and he stretched forth his hand, she looked at it and rubbed it.

"What have you eaten today?" She asked.

"I haven't taken anything because I have been reading. You know the exam is fast approaching and I need to cover up." He replied.

"That's true, before I forget, did you hear from your brother? How was the interview he went for yesterday? Did he get the job?" She asked with so much concern.

He sighs, his face giving a sad expression. Agata got the message, he hugged him.

"I'm so sorry, I will remind my dad about him, I will also tell my uncles too, they all have connections, don't worry yourself, my dad said I should give you 20k in case you need money, you don't have to go for those hard jobs again." She explained.

Yele was stunned.

"20k? Wow! Please thank them for me, and thank you too, I don't know what I have done to deserve this from you, you are an angel, thank you so much, I'll give you my brother's account number, please help me to send 10k to him, he did not have any money on him and he needs to eat too." He said.

Agata couldn't stop staring at him, she wasn't sure of what got her attracted to him in the first place but everything started making sense to her, Yele wasn't only caring but he had a kind heart and that was attractive.

"You are so kind Yele and I am proud of you, don't worry, I will send him 20k from my own money while you can still keep your 20k, I have another surprise for you." She said.

Yele was speechless, he didn't know what to do as he stared at her. She brought out a big branded bag and handed it over to him.

He collected it and stared at it.

"What's this?" He asked.

"Open it and find out." She said,

He opened the bag and saw different clothes inside, he brought them out and they were new branded clothes.

He was dumbfounded.

His mouth was opened in surprise as he checked through the clothes, shoes and wristwatches.

"All these for me? Oh my God, am I dreaming?"

"They are all for you, you don't have to keep repeating the same cloth again, you can try them on, they are all yours." She said with a bright smile.

He pulled his shirt and tested the shirts one after the other, they looked perfect on him. He loved the perfumers and wristwatches too.

She also showed him the foods he would be leaving with. Yele had so much excitement in him but didn't know how to show it he didn't even know what to do or say, he was speechless. Agata was like a heaven sent, an angel from above.

She understood his feelings,she assured him that everything would be fine.

"I made porridge with dry fish and vegetables before you came, I made for two, let me serve you." She said and went straight into the kitchen.

Yele pinched himself to confirm he wasn't dreaming. He checked the food and clothes again to be sure if they were real or not.

She showed up with a plate of porridge and another plate filled with meat. She placed two spoons on the plate, meaning they would be eating together on the same plate. She went to the small fridge and brought out a pack of yogurt and water.

Yele was already salivating.

The first spoon gave his taste bud a high sensation.

"You are a good cook." He said.

"Thank you, my mum is a good cook, she taught me how to cook different dishes but I guess I'll have to learn how to cook some Yoruba dishes because of you." She said and the bothe laughed.

After the meal, Yele thanked her for all she has done, he made her know she's an angel sent from above to rescue him and he appreciates all she has done for him. Agata did not see anything special in all she had done for him, she believed he deserved more.

It was getting late.

Yele was already gathering everything he would leave with.

"I have to go now before it's too late, make sure you read tonight, you know you need a good GP to start so that you can have something good to build on, I'll come to your department tomorrow to check up on you." He said and stood up.

Agata held his arm and gave him a sad face.

"Please don't go, stay with me." She pleaded.

THE SQUARE HOLE (Episode 6)

"Yes, she's heaven sent, in fact, she already discussed with her parents about helping you get a job, I hope everything comes out fine, the 20k is from her too….yes, you will meet her when you visit…I have to go now, I'll talk to you later." He dropped the call, walked into his department and met his friends sitting at the NFA.

He joined them and they were talking about the upcoming exam. Agata showed up from a distance. One of his colleagues tapped him and teased him.

"Yele,Yele, your babe don dey come, omo this babe set die, she like you o and she fine die, you are lucky o, I wish I have a girl who'll be taking care of me like this, see how she freshened you up, you don dey fat sef." He said and others laughed out loud.

"She is not my babe o, she is just my friend." He said.

"Who are you deceiving, you might not be dating that babe but she's already dating you in her mind o, do you see the way she stares at you? One could say she is in love with you. No dull am o, rich kids like this are always loyal and caring." Another person said.

"You people should stop talking about her, she's closer, don't let her hear that we are talking about her." Yele said.

Agata moved closer.

She was clad in a Jean trouser and a shirt. Even with her average height, her obvious curves added to her beauty and her light skin body was also inviting. Immediately he sighted Yele, her facial expression changed and she smiled.

"Hello good afternoon." She greeted the guys and they responded.

"Hi Yele. " She said.

Yele stood up and she ran into his arms.

"I missed you." She whispered into his ears.

Yele told his guys that he would see them later, he left with Agata. They walked through the tree plantation in the campus and later settled under the concrete seat that was placed under one of the big trees.

"Are you coming over to my place tonight?" She asked.

He looked at her quizzically.

"Your place again?, but I was with you throughout last night, why do you want me to come over again? Agata, exam is fast approaching and you need to read, you can't afford to be distracted, you need to be focused." He said.

"But I am, we read together last night before going to bed, I am only comfortable having you around me and I also love your presence." She said with a dull face.

Yele was confused, he heaved a deep breathe.

"I understand but I am not used to this kind of reading, I couldn't read anything last night, I was just staring at my book but nothing was going in?" She poured out.

"Why? But I did not disturb you now, we were both reading and…" she said and paused.

Yele took very from there.

"And what, how do you expect me to read when you laid your chest mind, when you placed your head on my shoulder and cuddling me? Is that how to read? You were rubbing your body on mine and you expect me to read, as if that wasn't enough, you even slept off like that and didn't even move a finger till this morning, and you expect me to read and assimilate like that?" He said and Agata laughed hysterically.

He gave a sarcastic side eye.

"What's funny?" He asked.

"I'm sorry, now I get, see Yele, last night was the best of my night in this school so far. And everything I read last night entered my head, I assimilated a lot. In fact, I taught my class mates what I read last night, I don't know what you are thinking about but I loved the moment." She explained.

Yele heaved a deep sigh.

"I am happy you were able to read and assimilate but it's not just working for me, see, we can hang out and have fun after exam but not before or during exam, I have a lot at hand, I am moving to my final year and it's not getting easier. Let's read please. " He pleaded.

"Okay, I won't disturb you again but that would be after tonight, stay with me tonight and I promise not to touch or disturb you, we'll seat apart and read, how about that?" She asked.

Yele gave a dissatifying expression but she begged him to please accept her offer.

"No disturbance, no touching, just read and sleep. Is that a deal?" He asked.

"Yes, it's a deal." She replied.

"Okay, then, I'll see you soon, I need to pick some things at my hostel." He said.

"Oh, I thought we would be going home together." She said.

"No, I'll join you." He replied.

"Okay then, what would you like to eat?" She asked.

"Anything will do." He replied.

She hugged him again and left.

Yele stood and watched her as she faded off into distance.

"Wetin be this one like this?" He exclaimed out of frustration.

"I don't know what to do, this girl is just all over me and I don't know what to do, I don't want it to look like I'm avoiding her, she is an angel but I am not comfortable with the way she wants me around, it's affecting me already, I can't even be anywhere I wish to be, talk to who I wish to talk to or even spend time with friends without her calling me and wanting me to be in her house, it's choking me already." Yele lamented to his friend Francis.

They sat in the general hall after reading while Yele poured out his worries to his friend.

"But you know it's obvious that this lady loves you, you can't tell me you didn't know, ladies that behave this way are already into you, this lady has shown you all the green lights in the world, it is left to you to respond to it." He said and Yele interrupted.

"But I am not interested, I am feeling like she is doing all these because her parents are taking care of me or she is helping me. She's making me feel indebted to her…you know when someone keeps giving you and you don't have anything to give back, you just have to give whatever they ask for, that is exactly how I am feeling right now. Exam is a week away and I haven't even read anything. She always wants me to be in her house every night, I am not comfortable with that because she is always distracting me, sometimes I regret meeting her despite the fact that she has helped me in many ways."

Francis heaved a deep breath, he looked confused as well and he knew what was at stake if Yele did not have time to read.

"What will you do now?" Francis asked.

"Honestly, I don't know, I think I'll just spit it to her face that I am not comfortable sleeping in her house every day, I haven't slept in my hostel room thrice since I met her, I am not used to this new life." He ranted.

" I think I have an idea but I don't know if it is a good one." Said Francis.

"Really?, tell me." He replied.

"I think you should get yourself a girl and introduce her to Agata that she is your girlfriend, or better still, tell her you know she likes you and you appreciate that but you don't want to take advantage of her, you don't want to hurt her because you cherish her like a sister, in fact, she reminds you of your late sister, tell her you already have a girlfriend before you met her. What do you think?" Francis said and Yele gave it a thought.

"That's a good idea but she will be hurt o, she will be in pain." He said.

"See you, isn't it better to be in pain than to be on your neck?" Francis asked.

"That's true sha, I'll see what I can do about that." He said.

A few seconds later, his phone rang and it was Shogo, his brother.

"It's my brother, I have to pick this please." Yele said.

Francis told him he would be going because he has some places to be before going back to the hostel. They bid themselves a good bye and he picked the call.

"Bro, I just got a job in an IT company, Agata's dad called me this morning and sent me an address and the name of the company, he said I should tell them that I am from Prof, when I got there, I did as he told me and they invited into a room, asked questions and asked for my credentials, I had not left the company's premises before I got a congratulation email from them, they sent me an offer letter too, bro I am so happy, I feel like crying…oh my God! This is unbelievable." He exclaimed over the phone.

The joy in Yele's heart was unexplainable, he jumped up and yelled in excitement.

"I am so happy, oh wow! Congratulations bro. When are you resuming?" He asked.

"Well, it was already written in the letter that I would be going for 4 months training and after that, I would have to be traveling within and outside the country when my service is needed. I would be working as a field manager. The job has a lot of traveling in it but I don't mind, I love traveling, I just replied to the mail that I accepted their offer." He replied.

"How about the pay bro, Is it good?" Yele asked.

"Ofcourse, it is good enough to take us out of poverty and start living our dream life." She replied.

Shogo told Yele to thank Agata for him and also call her parents to appreciate them.

He dropped the call and Yele was full of excitement.

He dialed Agata's number to give her the good news, she was excited but not sounding too good. He asked what the issue was and she told him she wasn't feeling too fine.

"I'll be on my way now." Yele said and dropped the call. He got a bike and headed to her house.

He knocked on the door and she came to open the door. When he got in, he saw her crawling back to the bed with a big duvet wrapped on her body.

"What is the matter with you? But you were not sick last night, when did this start?" Yele asked.

"It started immediately when you left, I missed you, if not that you wanted to tell me about your brother, you wouldn't call me, you didn't talk to me since you left in the morning. " She ranted.

"But I told you I needed to read now, anyways, how are you feeling now, hope you have eaten. I just came to check up on you, I need to go back to my hostel." He said.

She gave a sad expression.

"You mean you are not staying with me tonight? You won't look after me? Yele, I am not feeling fine o, who will take care of me if anything goes wrong?" She ranted.

It was exactly what Yele was trying to avoid but he already made up his mind.

"Nothing will happen to you, I will come and see you tomorrow, I need to go now before it gets too late." He said and stood up.

She stood up, unwrapped herself from the duvet and stood behind him. Yele turned and behind her was a naked lady looking at him seductively.

" I want you to have sex with me, I am Hot."

THE SQUARE HOLE (Episode

"What? Are you out of your mind? Why?...see Agata, I don't know what's on your mind but whatever you are doing or thinking right now is wrong, it's all shades of wrongfulness." He lamented.

Agata did not say anything, she didn't let her eyes off his eyes, she slowly walked to him and held his shirt. He retreated to the wall which gave her the opportunity to have him in her corner. She leaned on him and rubbed his body with her hands.

"Are you scared? You don't need to be scared, I just want you to thrust deep into me, I drip down there every time I set my eyes on you, why don't you want to touch me, are you a virgin? Haven't you done it before?" She whispered a seductive romance to his body.

"I..I.. I have a girlfriend." He stuttered and was expecting a cold reaction from her but, instead, she laughed out loud.

"You think I care about that? Honestly I don't, I just want you, see, don't get it twisted, I am not saying I want you to be my boyfriend and I don't want to force you into a relationship with me. The truth is, I wouldn't mind if we are lovers because I love you and it is obvious but I can't blame you if you don't feel the same way, I just want you to have sex with me whenever I want and that's all, you can be with whoever you want." She blurted and left Yele in awe.

"I'm sorry I can't do it, I don't even know how to do it, I have not done it before and I am not ready to. Agata, you are a beautiful lady with good heart and nice body but I'm sorry I can't do this, I feel it's not right." He said.

Agata went for her clothes and put them on.

"It's fine, I respect your decision, I love the fact that you were able to make decisions on your own, it's fine. Thanks for being honest." She said.

Yele felt a bit bad but he stood on his words.

"I need to go now, I'll see you tomorrow. " Yele said and Agata told him it's okay.

He reached for the door and left.

His head was full of thoughts as he found his way back to the hostel. He felt indifferent, he felt he had offered ded her and he shouldn't have left also.

He also felt she might tell her parents another thing about him and that could block all the advantages he was getting from them. His head was messed up with a lot of things.

When he got to the hostel, he had a nap before heading to the class to read. On his way to the class, messages started popping up on his phone. The messages were from Agata. He opened the message and they were filled with her nudes.

She captioned it: in case you change your mind, I am still here for you, the more you reject me, the more I get attracted to you, I can't wait to feel you inside of me. Please come home to have a taste of these.

He stood still beside the road to stare at the pictures. It would be the first time a lady would be obsessed with him. He kept wondering what had gone wrong with her. He was still buried in viewing the pictures when his friends showed up from behind.

He quickly hid the phone and they walked to the library together.

The exam time came and they wrote the exam. Agata was neutral to him throughout the exam time, she didn't disturb him, nor did she send him nudes. She sometimes takes food to his hostel if he refuses to show up.

"I know why you stopped visiting me, you shouldn't do that, even if you did not give me what I want, it doesn't mean that you should ignore me, I wouldn't. We are friends and we should still be friends." she told him

He apologized and they both focused on the exam. They read together in the library and part ways to their abodes after reading.

After the exam, Shogo decided to visit his brother, and also use the opportunity to meet Agata.

Yele was happy seeing him, how he had transformed from being a skinny guy to a well fleshed person. Indeed, the pay was good and he was really enjoying the job.

"I'll love to meet Agata, at least, to appreciate her for all she has done for us." Shogo said.

Yele informed her and she invited them over to her house.

At the sight of Agata, Shogo fell in love with her.

Everything they were saying in the room was not going through his ears , he was stunned by the beauty sitting before him. He couldn't control his emotions, it was obvious that Yele tried to caution him but he was already hypnotised by Agata's beauty.

A few minutes later, they left and was heading to his hotel room when Shogo held Yele's shoulder and told him:

"That is my wife, Agata is going to be my wife."

Yele flung his hand off his shoulder. His face lightened up and his chest burned up in anger.

"What are you talking about? You want to make who your wife?" He said angrily.

Shogo was shocked.

He stared at him confusingly.

"What is wrong with you? Why the reaction? You could just tell me you have a thing with her and that will be all, do you think I want to snatch away your girlfriend? No, I won't do that, we are brothers and you've always got my back so I don't have any reason to hurt you, I'm sorry. " He apologized.

"She is not my girlfriend and I don't have anything to do with her but you can't marry her and she can not be your girlfriend." He blurted.

This statement left Shogo more confused. He stared into his eyes and asked if he was okay, if Agata is not his girlfriend then why is he fuming over his interest.

"Yele, is there anything about this lady that you think I should know? Why are you reacting this way? What happened, tell me." He persuaded him but Yele told him nothing happened and he insisted nothing would bring them together.

Shogo gave up the conversation and never brought it up till he left to his base. Agata did not know what had transpired between Yele and his brother, she was her normal self and still throwing romantic lines at Yele but he wasn't giving in.

Yele got to his final year while Agata leveled up to 200L. In his final year, he was scarce to Agata, even when she called him, he wouldn't pick up and when he finally picked up, he would give an excuse that he has been busy with classes, assignments and projects. This sent a lot of messages to Agata, she concluded that Yele's heart was a no go area, she was only forcing herself on him and he did not feel the same way.

She stopped disturbing him and face her studies.

During the first semester break, she traveled home. It was unusual of her since she got admission, she preferred staying in school and spending time with Yele than going home to meet her family but since Yele wasn't showing up, she decided to go home.

She was home and one day, feeling bored, she decided to visit her uncle's company.

She was in his office gisting and discussing with him when they heard a knock on the door. His uncle told the person to come in and it was Shogo.

He walked in and her uncle was about to introduce him to Agata when she spoke up.

"I know him, he is my friend's brother, I did not know he works here." She said and faced Shogo.

"Hello Shogo, how are you? Hope you are hearing from your brother?" She asked.

" I'm fine, and yes I heard from him, thanks for asking." He replied.

"Shogo is one of my best field managers. When your dad referred him to me, I was a bit skeptical but he proved me otherwise. He is also a good man as well. The only issue I have with him is that he has refused to get married. " He said jokingly and they laughed.

Shogo couldn't keep his eyes off Agata.

"Please prepare for Ghana tomorrow, we have some associates there, we need to do the installation in their hotels, you are going with two other people, tell the financial secretary to send me the expenses so that I can approve it, you may leave now." He said and he left.

His face and Agata's face kept coming in contact.

Is Agata feeling the same way as Shogo?

Few hours later, She left her uncle's office and after he escorted her to the garage where she parked her car, he went back into the office.

Shogo sighted her through his office window, he rushed out and used the opportunity to meet her before she ignited the car.

"Hey…" he said.

"Hii..how are you and hope you are enjoying the job?" She asked.

"Yes I am, and thanks for all you do for us, I really appreciate it. I hope I can repay you someday."He said humbly.

"That would be nice." She said with a smile.

"Uhmmm…I don't know if I am not asking for too much if decided to take you on a dinner date." He said.

A beautiful smile crawled on her face.

"That's romantic, give me a date and venue and I'll be there." She said.

"But I don't have your number." He said.

"You ought to have asked…0803792…87…I'll be expecting your call soon." She said and gave him a cool seductive face.

Shogo smiled.

He watched her as she drove off. The chemistry was there.

Could this be love?
