Do you guys think that the South can't generate power?

It was the money from oil that was used to build the dam in the first place. If that dam wasn't built then, by now flood and erosion would have wiped the idiots making this demand.

Was oil pipelines not drawn from the far south to the north.

God punish all of una for Niger State for this stupid demand.

Divide the fu(King Country and let's see what you can do for yourselves.

Why are we now having banditry at the Northern parts?, is it not because private individuals are extracting the solid minerals for themselves.

We should extract oil and give you 13%. GOD MUST PUNISH YOU GUYS THERE.

Niger State is more than Netherlands and Belgium combined in land size but cannot feed itself, (this is for those who always say that South East has a small landmass,) most of the milk used by Mai Shayi to make tea in Nigeria comes from cows in small Netherlands while Fulani herdsmen slaughters the population to use their farm crops to feed their Kwashiokod cows.

I expected the hardworking Governor of Niger State to ask Peter Obi how he planned to transform the state into a productive state during the campaigns with all those huge expanse of fertile lands wasting away but instead he is looking at more money from Niger Delta oil which NNPCL is already telling us is not available for Dangote refinery

Everyone have thier eyes on oil.

Someone said on a different post they wish this oil will just dry up for few years so to reset the politicians brain

They forget so soon that oil money has sustained them so far. They also forget that IGR from places like lagos has helped them survive. How much is their IGR and how much is their FG monthly allocation?

They should shut down the gaddam dame that produces epiléptic power supply and let Lagos keep their Billions and let Niger delta keep their oil. Let's see who Will survive

I remember during the three weeks orientation camp in Paiko, Niger several years ago. One man who addressed us said something similar.
That they produce electricity for the whole country, but the don't act entitled like those in South South that produces crude oil.
There are several ways to generate electricity, This Governor can't use this as bargaining chips. If you switch off Kainji and shiroro dams, other states especially southern state will seek other means to generate electricity. Dams can be constructed too

For Nigeria to practise true federalism, a lot of states will have to be merged.

Though the Niger state governor is being disingenuous in this case because it is common knowledge that Niger state is part of a special federal government development agency created to develop hydropower producing areas known as HYPADEC.

Also it seems that the past and present Niger state governors are lazy waiting for free oil money when it has large areas of fertile agricultural lands waiting to be harnessed for commercial farming.

Wait ooh, please baba put me through, do they have oil, i mean , do they produce crude oil in Niger state??

See these almajiris headslamming mofos 🤣 They just want to cause unrest. Let's see them shut down the kanji dam there are so many alternative to that and it's time we explored them. The Oil revenue is shared.
We pay for the electricity, it's not free.

Big difference.

This one must be a clown. Only 27% of power in Nigeria is generated through hydroelectricity of which their dam is a part. The other over 70% is generated through gas sourced from the Niger Delta.

Every state should look for means to generate power or buy from a neighbouring state.

How can states in faraway North be supplying power to the south when the south has gas in abundance?

Research before spewing spurious assertions. Hydropower is just about 20% contribution to Nigeria's total electricity generation. The rest us generated via natural gas fired power plants

Are you intellectually obtuse or you just choose to be. Do you realise that our climate is not favourable for those breeds of cows and hence it's a waste of investment? Despite several efforts of cross breeding, you still can't get 75% of holstein-friesen-whitefulani cow. Our cows likewise will also not survive their climate. Its just nature against the cows and nothing else.
Not all cows are used for milk production and not all cows are suitable for meat production.

Not at all, they lied to you. They only produce 20% or more of power supplied to Nigeria. Niger Delta generates the other 70%.

Meanwhile 70% of Nigeria power generation comes from Niger Delta gas while 27% is from hydro, so if he shuts down the dams rhe country won't be un total darkness

When he shut the dam, where will he channel the massive volume of water?

Stop fooling yourself, this is 2023, no one is dying off if we start practicing true federalism, every single state of the federation is blessed with one or the other sources of revenue, states that doesn't have oil can sustain on agriculture, those with limited land for agriculture have gold and so on, the problem is bad governance and wickedness of the elites.

They want to die with oil money because it has been refined and it's ready to eat, no need to work or stress on how to turn it to money again, they all see it as free money for all among themselves, if the oil money cease being available for them to feast on, they would develop the available ones in their various states
