grin Ghanaians and inferiority complex mixed with jealousy are never far from each other, like a crocodile and the water.Their music is a bunch of trashy stuff, and the movies are worse, very nauseating.

It's in no particular order. Sade Ade, Ibadan born cracked the American market long before Davido was born.

Nigerians have bought the American market, that is why they are getting more than 5 nominations - Ghanaian music executive claims

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejBKMayFVkY

During the interview on Hitz FM, the music executive claimed that some Ghanaian singers are better than their Nigerian counterparts, but are less visible because Nigerians are loud.

He also stated that Ghanaian singer, Stonebwoy did everything possible to get a spot in the Grammy nomination list but couldn’t because Nigerians are more visible and have bought out the American market which he claims is controlled by money.

I said the NEW Nigerian sound. Fall is the first such song to become wildly popular over there.
Also, Sade was not a Nigerian musician in the sense Davido is. She left Nigeria for good at age four!

Can you read my original post again. I updated it with more info on Benson Idonije, Bose Ogulu's biological father.

Whose grandmother are you referring to here as being Yoruba?

Davido shouldn't even be there. He only has a nomination and it's not a win, yet.
People like Sikiru Adepoju who used talking drums to win 4 Grammys should be there, not Davido with only a nomination.

Yorubas of Nigerian descent in the global entertainment industry have been very stellar... winning the Grammy Awards multiple times since Folasade Adu (whose Professor of Economics father is from Ikere-Ekiti) won it in grand style in 1986. SEAL, Chamilionaire and others then followed.

He was Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's music producer so the whole family grew up and lived in Lagos State (or Yorubaland) so they speak fluent Yoruba as well. Raymond Dokpesi also hailed from Agenebode, in Edo but was born in Ibadan and so was very fluent in Yoruba with a Russian wife and two Ijebu wives.

Ghanaian sings with their language that's why they don't make it that far in music. Use English
music has no language bro. Music itself is a universal language. Asake sing majorly in Yoruba yet he is recognised globally.

Ah, I get it now from the screenshot you attached... Burna Boy's maternal grandmother is a Yoruba woman.

There was a discussion here on NL on the history of Rivers State ethnicities indicating that Burna Boy's father's ancestral folks come from the relatively small Engenni ethnicity in Ahoada West (domiciled close to the Ijaws) that is of Edo origin or migration from a few centuries back.

If Davido more popular than Fela?
Fela did what he did without streaming and all. Without featuring American artistes.
Davido has not done anything special. Nothing.

If you claim that Burna boy and others got the nominations because they are more visible and loud, let your own people go and be loud and visible as well.

Yorubas form majority of Nigeria's biggest music talents. The rest who aren't Yoruba either live in a Yoruba state or under a label owned and controlled by a Yoruba.
