Ebunoluwa na edo name abi Bose? Ogulu na edo name too? Asking because I don't know
Yup! Ebunoluwa and Bose are Yoruba names derived from Burna Boy's maternal side. Ogulu on the other hand is a family name from the Engenni people in Ahoada West who are a
relatively small ethnicity in Rivers State where Burna Boy's father originally hails from.

While Burna Boy's maternal grandfather who was Fela's iconic music Manager is originally from Edo State (Otuo in Owan East to be precise).

This is disgusting, to be honest.

A Ghana industry alluding to Nigeria's supremacy in Music and you managed to squeeze out tribal juice from it.

Nigerians have bought the American market, that is why they are getting more than 5 nominations - Ghanaian music executive claims

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejBKMayFVkY

During the interview on Hitz FM, the music executive claimed that some Ghanaian singers are better than their Nigerian counterparts, but are less visible because Nigerians are loud.

He also stated that Ghanaian singer, Stonebwoy did everything possible to get a spot in the Grammy nomination list but couldn’t because Nigerians are more visible and have bought out the American market which he claims is controlled by money.

#wetindeyhappentv

Ghana Entertainment don't go a day with talking about Nigeria and Nigerians dominating them instead of they getting to work.

Na bad belle, jealousy and unnecessary competition,na im go Kee Dez Ghanaians.
We started Nollywood, making decent films, and making stars out of their actors and actresses, fiaaaam, dey copy us and started with their own, wetin be d name sef,Gollywood, displaying all manner of lewdness and nudity, thinking say,dem go outshine our Nollywood, whossai! Their own don fumble and tumble, Nollywood still dey make waves.
For music, yes they get quite some talented musicians, but Nigeria got more! It's called grace! Our rulers may be bad, Yorubas may be fighting Igbos on Nairaland, but hey,we keep making waves all around the globe. Though I am Igbo and I dey yab Yoruba here on Nairaland,I ain't gonna allow you,as a stranger, mess up with my Yoruba or Hausa or Nupe, etc brother or sister in any place where we find ourselves outside the country. No way! Not under my watch! We still love ourselves, regardless.
Nigerians are making it in all spheres of life because we are bold,we are fearless,we are confident,we are daring and above all,we have this God-factor in all we do. Our general parlance is always, 'by the Grace of God '!.
So Ghana should go and park for one corner.
We are still the Giant of Africa, Tinubu wahala notwithstanding!
They who God has blessed,no Ghanaian or Southy can curse.
We move!

One thing other African countries should understand about Nigerians is that we are gifted by God to excel in all sphere of life. The only thing hindering us as a country is bad leadership.

A major advantage we have is our accent which makes our music enjoyable...Also, an average Nigerian has charisma, confidence, finesse and intellectual ability to tweak different musical genre to get new vibes and sounds.

Imagine how Nigerians took the SA's amapiano sound and made it more appealing to the rest of the world.

Mind you, Nigeria has demographical advantage...we have millions of Nigerians spread around the world. They help to influence people from other parts of the world to stream and listen to our songs.

In summary...we have swag and we are likable.

Bad leadership is a reflection of the people, you and i

Yes. Seriki Adepoju with 4 Grammys is also not really Nigerian. His talking drum is not really Nigerian.
Ebunoluwa Ogulu is not really Nigerian.
Abeg, rest with this Davido you're pushing. He's the least of them all.

You don't know what you are saying. We are talking POPULARITY - music played constantly on popular radio stations. I can bet you those talking drums were probably only heard by Grammy people, never played on radio stations over there.
Ebunoluwa Ogulu (Burner boy) came after Davido.
Davido's Fall was the FIRST!!!

If not for leadership problems that had been embattling Nigeria, Nigeria-Ghana scenario ought to be like USA-Mexico situation where Ghanian’s will be finding all means humanly possible to enter Nigeria.

Ghanian are bunch of inferior and cheap people, they are always quick to compare themselves with Nigerians.

Sade and Seal are not really Nigerians in the sense Davido is, neither did they play music in any way Nigerian.
They both grew up in UK. Seal was born in London
I understand your POV or sentiments here but I have a contrarian view as an OG.

The past multiple-Grammy Awards winners, Sade Adu, Seal and Chamilionaire are of Nigerian descent. Two British-Nigerians and one Nigerian-American. They have all NEVER denied their Yoruba roots and links to Nigeria in many interviews. Davido too is a Nigerian-American!

Infact I remember watching Sade Adu on national TV back in 1986 when she visited Nigeria for her father's funeral and she told the journalists (who interviewed her at the International Airport in Lagos) that it was great to be back to Nigeria.

Seal also visited Lagos State 2 years ago with his first son from the German super model, Heidi Klum and he also told journalists at Femi Kuti's shrine in Ikeja, Lagos that he brought his son from America to come and know his roots in Nigeria. Seal was born in London like you accurately said but he came back to live in Nigeria and finally left Lagos Island, his hometown in 1979 with his British passport to seek for greener pastures in the UK and studied architecture.

Sade Adu and her older brother Banji were infact born in the late 1950s in Ibadan to a White English mother who was a nurse and a father from Ikere-Ekiti who was a Professor of Economics and a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Sade's parents first met in England.

Davido himself is a Nigerian-American and was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1992 to a Yoruba father and to Imade Adeleke, a delectable Bini woman and an academic from Edo State who worked with Bowen University.

Do they know the cost at which the Nigerian musicians have captured the American music market?

Ghanaians can be so insecure just recently they claimed Nigerians artifical hair and wigs business men and women has taken over their business, they protest that Nigerians should leave their business alone, it didn't end there shop owners in Ghana claimed Nigerians are hijacking their potential customers what do Ghanians want exactly to this end it was so bad Nigerians shop owners were asked to pay in dollars to registered their business and open shop in Ghana, it was so bad that they even claimed they invented Afrobeat with all sorts of nonsense history to back their claims that our Legendary Baba Fela came to Ghana to borrow their beats and metaphose it to Afrobeat, and now this is another useless claim to say we bought over the American music industry when out our own artists where going global promoting shows and selling out tickets to 02 Arena to promote Afrobeats to the world they didn't see it coming we would someday dominate the Grammy awards and now that our hardwork has paved way the next thing is to beef Nigerians out of Jeslousy, envy and bad Belle Ghana wake up and promote your own artiste and stop this blame game to get cheap attention it's our time and nothing will stop it infact we are going to dectact the game for a long time you ain't see nothing yet.
