Ojukwu did not surrender, he ran away in his wife's skirt like a coward he is, he abandoned his people to his second in command who surrendered, what matters is that Biafra army surrendered!

You re talking about money in bank, ojukwu stole all the money in the bank and use that to buy weapons, gave you worthless papers instead, and you still expect Nigeria govt to refund the money, where is common sense in that abeg??

20 euro as at that time will buy two plots of land and lastly bring the proof that your uncle's abandoned property was not returned to him.
As usual, the usual Yoruba lies and propaganda against Igbos that all Yorubas are taught in school right from their various cocoa farms.

Ojukwu left Biafra land in a private jet with all his family members and family members of his Vice Col. Philip Effiong, Yoruba people stop telling lies oh, stop believing the lies your demon possessed elites tell you about Igbos just to make you people hate Igbos without reason. Ojukwu did not sneak out in a woman dress, Ojukwu left gallantly in a private jet with all his family members.

Jets were landing and taking off from Oba Airstrip even in the heat of the war, even when Nigerian troops crossed over the River Niger into Biafran side, jets were still landing and taking off from Oba Airstrip which served as Biafra's official airport then.

This feat shocked British people and BBC Journalists couldn't contend their shock as they reported it widely on BBC Radia and other broadcasts.

Biafran local engineers constructed that airstrip as soon as the war broke out, they constructed the magical airport lights that made it difficult for enemy troops to sight plane arrival and take off but yet easy for relief planes to land and take off smoothly.

Forget, Igbos are too good to a fault, forget say we de put hand for nyash de smell finger with you dull people in.the name of one nation, if we had our own country that we had been fighting for for decades now, them no born any Yoruba well to even report Biafra news without permission, na to bomb the Radio or TV station without notice. You see how Israel and rest of Arab countries relate or how North Korea and South Korea be, na so we go be and una know that's why fear of unknown no wan gree you people and Hausa-Fulanis to allow Igbos you so much despise to go form their own country.

Earlier this year, an Igbo lawmaker raised a motion for Nigeria's disintegration to be discussed, Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani lawmakers shut him down cos they know they cannot survive without Igbos they despise, what a miserable people. You hate someone yet you don't want to live on your own without that person, is that not pure madness? Tell me if not what then can we call such irrational behaviour?

Ojukwu did not surrender, he left and kept Nigerian government in confusion as they were scared and worried of his next move, that is how heroes behave. That singular act saved Igbos if you don't know, it was a planned war tactics, If they captured him they would have destroyed Southeasterners, but they were worried of his next move as news kept speculating he has left to restrategize and to seek for more alliance with foreign powers. That suspense made Gowon and the Nigerian side jittery they had to declare the war as no Victor no Vanquish. Go and read about it. Adolf Hitler did same and it helped save Germans and Nazis from complete destruction by the Allied forces and the Soviet Forces.

So you think 20 pounds that Nigerian government returned back to Igbos after the war no matter how many thousands or millions they had in Nigerian banks before the war was what made them survive and bounce back stronger, I laugh.

Igbos and Jews share similar traits, so go and read about Jews and how they survived the holocaust and other things that befell Jews right from Bible time. Assyrians defeated Israel thousands years ago and destroyed everything and thought they have wiped Israel out, but Jews later bounced back and stronger today than Syria the former Asyria in the Bible. Who God has blessed, no gangup can stop it.

All the properties were returned my foot, the usual Yoruba lies and gaslighting to appear too good to people that dont know who you treacherous people are.

My late uncle's properties in Lagos weren't returned till date. His land at Ikoyi was never returned as government took ownership of it.

His various lands at Apapa and house at Surulere weren't recovered, so tell that c0ck and bull story of all Igbo properties in Southwest were returned to your fellow Ronu miscreants.

Everytime you guys keep masturbating over Igbo shops, shop this shop that. Igbo shops have been giving Yorubas sleepless nights since the colonial master so we understand, you are free to open your own shops too Ndi mgbu, ndi obi ufu shocked

You just made some serious allegations in your last 3 paragraphs. Can you state your uncle's full details or send me a DM, and we can see how to help you recover those properties? Except you are telling lies, because my late grandfather who had estates in ikoyi and yaba before the war had his properties and cars returned to him intact, with the last one recovered during the shagari regime.

No harder way than the civil war lol

Igbos survived one of the world's rated most brutal civil war. Did you know that Igbos forfeited all they owned and acquired all over Nigeria, except few that was returned to few Igbos by their close none Igbo friends in Southwest, Southsouth and North? And they still rose to dominance giving Yoruba and Northerners sleepless nights again lol

Imagine this happened in the 1960s when more than 98% of Igbos lived within Nigeria, and around 90% lived within Igbo land, now compare what would happen now that over 40% of Igbos live outside Igbo land and over 18% outside Nigeria? You can do the maths.

I can tell you boldly that no other Nigerian tribe can engage in civil war with the rest of Nigeria and ever survive it. Yoruba land have never witnessed civil war, but visit Yoruba states outside Lagos and compare them with Southeast states that fought a brutal 2 year plus civil war where Nigeria was backed by most powerful nations of the world, then you can know who can teach each other lesson.

Igbos have learned enough lesson, it is Yorubas that should be praying daily not to ever be taught a lesson cos Yoruba cannot survive any lesson at all.

not every state returned. for e.g in PHC diette spiff championed the stealing of igbo homes in phc, muritala was recovering them before he was killed and that ended. Lagos/gborokiri. Dline & Diobu were mostly igbo settlements before the civil war, bori camp belonged to Ojukwu family(he's fathers land, sme with Tincan area of Apapa) those ones were neva returned.

I am a living witness, I have paused every land purchase and building projects in Lagos and Ogun states that I foolishly started before 2023 elections. All my friends living outside Nigeria doing same have all paused.

The news is spreading faster than Yorubas think. For now, Lagos state government and their APC Yoruba Ronu supporters are winning, but with time, they will feel the negative impact of their thoughtless actions of today influenced by Tinubu's type of sectional politics.

Lagos real estate sector is being foolishly destroyed and real estate value will gradually take a downward trend in Lagos because of all these harsh policies without considerations knowing how polarized along tribal line Nigeria have become since Buhari/APC took over.

We need to stop this ignorant attitude of bigotry.

The lesson here is obey the laws of the land because one day, things will take shape in Nigeria and laws would be upheld by the authorities without prejudice.

How can you build on roads, waterways, pipelines and under high tension wires and not expect a day of reckoning?

Prospective land owners must confirm and avoid FG and SG acquisition lands and obey the laid down rules.

There's more to come because when it comes to building, Nigerians seem not to understand the importance of layouts and properly planned neighbourhoods.

Decades ago I remember when I was serving with ministry of lands & Housing and we had to go demolish some illegal shanties.....it was a pitiful sight but guess what, they'd been served notices like years and years before but because no one enforced it, they continued the infractions until that government that year that decided to effect the law irrespective of if you were the oba's family....only those with documents were compensated.

I also remember one place called apete in ibadan over 20 years ago when I was being encouraged to buy some acres...when I got there I ran with my head because I saw gutters and soakaway pits crossing people's living quarters...no plans, no layouts.

Some people even buy and build up locations allocated for circular roads because they didn't check the master plan of the area or they simply didn't care.

I don't know if things have changed there today but if not, you can imagine when government would descend on these locations, the offenders would start panicking.

Chai! Investments of years of hard labour brought down because of stark disregard to rules and regulations. Although other factors may be responsible, but it is understandable that willfull disobedience caused a lot of them their property.
Please blame the government who made it impossible for citizens to walk into the appropriate government office to buy land.

Blame the government who watched developments taking place on an illegal land but kept quiet until a full city black was built.

If you check carefully, there are some big people close to the government who are to benefit from this newly developed place.

It's the same troubltwith adoption process in Nigeria :government made it difficult and untransparent that private unscrupulous individuals came in to start selling babies

I can see how rich and happy this news made you. I wouldn't dare laugh at my enemy in this circumstances, even if he or she is at fault. Guess what, kid...pray to even have money to build in your entire life as human.

“They told them that if anyone had received an allocation number and was yet to pay, they should pay up, but some that got allocation numbers either refused to pay, delayed payment or short-paid.”

How can anyone do this to himself?

It's sad to read story of demolition anyday , anytime - anywhere.

We can't always continue to ignore warnings and behaving like everything is fine and no one would question our actions some day.

Hmmmmmm, as I've said earlier, those bringing in lasg into the case do not really have knowledge of the event.
It's a FG thing. Some of them were genuinely transacting with the Local Govt(LG do not have any jurisdiction over building matters), those staff that knows no left from right, while those that knows are dubious, continue to collect money from them. Another group is the I don't care, na money e go chop. Then we have the completely ignorant set.
Peeps, if you are buying any land with a FG or SG estate or barrack as a landmark, kindly do your research well, you might be buying a potential govt land.
Also, if you are told to stop work over title matters or right of way, pls kindly stop work, you might pay fine if you circumvent building permit and the likes, but don't joke with ownership tussle and ROW
