PHIPEX:sentiment and village logic I don't know why many of you reason like villagers How is that relevant? Is that new or strange in Nigeria If he has approval he should bring it out. All this village logic is irrelevant in Lagos state If he has approval he is definitely entitled to compensation and can use the government 2 Likes |

If they decide to remove the structure now, some people will say they are targeting their tribe. Mind you, Soludo remove many illegal structures constituting nuisance in Anambra no one raised an eyebrow, when Lagos tries it they will say they are targeting them. 4 Likes |

Gajagojo:City logic would have helped you know you can't build this kind of a house in this vicinity without govt agent knowing about it. To the point of blocking a canal. If a Canal can be blocked like this and the govt is unaware, tomorrow a major road can also be sold and blocked and govt would also not be aware But like a typical African that will never interrogate an issue. Rather, let's pass judgement, demolish and move on. 3 Likes |

Gajagojo: African man Can you travel to Dubai and start building in a park for instance illegaly? Won't the authorities stop you and maybe throw you in Jail? But in Black man Land, since law is enforced only once a decade, they will allow you build and even install air conditioner sef, then come back to blame you for their lack of enforcement. Look at the world IQ chart below. If you and your kind were smart, your countries IQ won't be so low. It's the truth 1 Like

Without being sentimental, those Lagos state agencies have foot soldiers in abundance to stop the developers at the earlier stage before playing to the gallery now. The commissioner needs to look inward, there may be unscrupulous element among the agencies staffs that may have been giving these developers go ahead only to deny them now that the bubble has busted. Based on experience the owners of these buildings would have paid certain fees to local government, state government agencies etc, failure to do so they would have stopped the work long time ago. However, if those developers are guilty of building illegal structures, they should face the music if there is any in the law 3 Likes |

Gajagojo:There is no solution in just demolishing houses up and down, everyone loses including the govt. Govt should be proactive and prevent this mess by stopping them early. If govt knew all along and kept quiet then the blame goes to the govt too. "Delay dedaets equity" |

Omoluabi16: As in bruv Us blacks ehn, chai, we are just like jungle people, no LAW AND ORDER at all. I read the thread stating "Lagos has the worst traffic in the world", and NO ONE, NOT ONE COMMENT ON THE THREAD TALKED ABOUT LAW AND ORDER Like common sense is not common in Nigeria. How won't there be traffic if no one is ever pulled over? In America they will pull you over for something as "trivial" as changing lanes without using your signal, but in Nigeria you will see people driving on two lanes, no signals, run traffic lights... YET NO POLICE WILL CHASE THEM IN CARS So how do you want good traffic when there is no Law enforcement? Now the people that were supposed to enforce laws as pertains to housing permits and zoning had taken a sabbatical and just now woke up, after DECADES OF SLUMBER, to "enforce" the law, thereby causing deep pains to the people. Like can one go to America and just start building anywhere without the police arresting you for building illegally in under a week? Or a day? Or maybe a few minutes sef. What a low IQ country and people, the chart below does not lie men

PHIPEX:if only you are this outspoken about demolition in Anambra and other places. It is only when it is Lagos state you known all this? This is the Nigeria we all grew up in and know This did not start today It is one thing to have money and another to be educated In some cases government may be able to forgive but when blocking the canal the house has to go Many of you are hypocrites. Brendaniel: I think this were you should understand the Nigerian concept, if they come and put a stop work, they will back channel and continue work, hoping they can change the state mind to allow it once it's completed or use the public to cry. It can work in some cases, the government will then allocate land and compensation to them but this is clear violation. |
