I wonder why we hate eachother so much, most rarely judge without putting sentiments, we're quick to nail a tribe, religion or political party supporters to a particular crime and offences. Well whoever built this and the buyers got it wrong. Peace be unto everyone of us we're becoming too bitter to eachother |

Abagworo: Can you just hear yourself and read over again what you posted right there ? How can you be this foolish ? Whatever they make in Lagos should be invested elsewhere? What if I told you that my big bro doesn't work in Lagos, he works in Ogun State, yet he built his house in Lagos... Who told you most the houses were built by the money made in Lagos? This is where everyone is getting it wrong ? How can you spend 100s of millions just to build on water ? Stop playing the victim card and stop yarning nonsense, my greatest joy would be to see at least one person out of the hundreds of houses been demolished to come out with a government approval even if it was fake, so we can start to drag the government from there but I have seen none.... People were been given 7 days ultimatum but yet no one ever comes out to tackle the government with his document..... Even if the government gives approval for all those buildings, they will still demolish all but only this time will there be compensation.. or else, in the nearest future the state Lagos, will be submerged in flood beyond redemption..... Stop playing the victim card, I hate when we chose to put tribalism in everything we say here and it is disheartening... 2 Likes |

LifestyleTonite: I don't see any where the tribe of the house owner is mentioned here. Be objective. It's been stated that demolishing of houses is not targeted at any tribe but to correct the menace of inappropriate building structures like this one. Don't be shallow minded. |

PHIPEX:So you think the number of taskforce workers employed to enforce building regulations can effectively cover the whole of Lagos State? They cant. They schedule visits to various areas and once such buildings are sighted, they put the stop work sign. You can't say you haven't seen those signs. |

PHIPEX:Do you know the number of yahoo boys cashing out steady? Many of them can build such houses but won't follow due process. Due process is a waste of time. Due process could mean an investigation into their finances which could raise red flags. Fraudulent minds would never think of due process as they are wired to see everything with the lenses of money. Make this money and lavish it. Everybody has a price, Anybody can be bought, even the law. That is their own thought process. Otherwise Naira Marley & Sam Larry no suppose get mind dey befriend police. 1 Like |

CoronaVirusPro:The government is partly to be blamed. Where were they when it was being built? If they are pro-people they would have stopped it in the on set. They would on the other hand issue Stop Work notice on buildings that have no problems in other to receive settlement. |

Rebelutionary: You sound like a product of an extremely failed state right at the bolded! In a sane clime, the govt will even extend basic amenities closest to your property before approval is granted. then one can go ahead with building. .. whatever challenges comes post approval ,becomes their sole responsibility to deal with or relocate you somewhere safer. If there was approval, I would say he did no wrong! |

Hanndye: This is not about who to blame but what to do next. Where were they is not a legal argument. It has no meaning in law. Is there any year that government does not demolish buildings in Nigeria They are here now ready to demolish that is what matters Demolition happened in Abuja,Kano,Onitsha and every other part of Nigeria Why is it only Lagos that you turn up to start asking foolish questions |
Re: Lagos Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab Shares Photo Of Houses Blocking Canal by ghiloman28(m): 9:57am On Nov 30, 2023 |
We need to stop acting stupeed on internet space. What the meaning of where were they he was building. Are you acting dumb that with money you can do anything in Nigeria at the level where your money reach. You see many idiot on the road because they have one small power passing one way and they will settle at the front if anything. I have seen a building on a pipeline they allowed the man to build finish park in the next week they demolished the building to ground. We cannot be acting stupeed as citizen and expect something to change. Average Nigerians ways is short cut to anything that why bribery and everywhere. PHIPEX: |
