Flashback to when the Northern Elders Forum advised the Nigerian government not to resist any move for secession by the Igbos if it is supported by the people of the region.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the then Director of Publicity and Advocacy for the Forum said Nigeria cannot afford to fight another war to keep the Igbos seeing that the country is already on her knees and already burdened with failures.

Everyone have been asking them to leave but they won't just leave.. you'll start hearing things like they are Nigerians and can live anywhere.. but your papa dey claim biafra just now, what changed??

If you study this Nigeria well, you'll know the Igbos are the ones really benefitting from the unity of Nigeria, they just enter any market and start selling anything, competing with the locals in the place.
Just imagine taking such privilege away from them, won't they perish?.. what is the population of their 5 South East states, what is their spending power there?
Do you think they will survive without Nigeria? I honestly don't think so.

You are very smart.

I remember a while back when Arewa youths gave Igbos an ultimatum to leave the north in a week, how Ohaneze and other Igbo groups sent delegations to beg them to reverse the order.

Imagine deporting 12 million Igbos from the north to the East? It would be the worst humanitarian catastrophe in world history, and lead to mass starvation of Igbos.

Haven’t even mentioned the 10 million Igbos in the west also getting deported.

Igbos who have basic common sense - usually the well-educated ones, know that secession is simply not feasible at this point.

This is not 1967. The nation today is far too intertwined and interdependent to contemplate ethnic secession.

Unfortunately for them, they have to go..

It was machete our people used on them in the last governorship elections in Lagos when they attempted to usurp Yoruba political structure in a State in Yorubaland... next elections might involve guns and beheading of those irritants if they don't leave in one piece now.

How will you leave Anambra and be fighting to enthrone Chinedu over Yorubas in Lagos.. se ori iya e ti daru ni or what?
Those people don't know their boundary atal and we'll chase them away for good.

It’s much deeper than that! The people who see ‘one Nigeria’ as their inheritance, ATM and who despise Ndigbo CANNOT afford to support ANY ethnicity or region (not just Ndigbo) breaking away, as this would kickstart a domino effect that would lead to others wanting to leave as well!

Just wait till the first group are fortunate enough to escape the clutches of this murderous and unbalanced union….that’s when you’ll know all the attestations you hear of Nigerian ‘unity’ and ‘indissolubility’ are all just empty noise!

If not for Gowon's kindness, you, IMBE.C.ILE, would not be alive today.

Go and ask your father how much he jubilated when he heard Gowon order his troops to ceasefire after your abject surrender by Effiong, after Ojukwu ran away to Ivory Coast.

Without Gowon's order, federal troops would have massacred all of you, and there would be nothing like Igbo today, except in memory, folklore and history lessons.

Worthless little shiit you.

It will never happen.. the world will rather end.
They will soon retrench all the Igbos working in Lagos State Civil Service.

We are moving towards restructuring now.. nothing will take us back.
Forward ever, backward never.

Yes, land flowing with milk and honey, yet all the people ran away to another land to sell Gala and La Casera inside Lagos hold-ups and sleep under Lagos bridges.

That should be land flowing with hard drugs and fake drugs.

Meanwhile, just know that there will never ever be an independent drugs trafficking nation in West Africa. If you want to be independent, then go and find land near Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, e.t.c. where they do the same drugs trafficking that you want to use to build your nation. But in West Africa here, there will never be an independent drugs trafficking nation

Awolowo caused it. Awolowo begged Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, Murtala Muhammed, and Benjamin Adekunke not to wipe out all living things in that region. If not, we would have been reading about that region and the tribe like the Garden of Eden.

I suspected as much.

Maybe Zik also begged him.

The only reason there is something calIed IGBO today, is Gowon, and his 'No victor, no vanquished' policy.

He even gave them money after defeating them.

I've never seen such, in the history of warfare.

I'm sure he's regretting all that his kindness by now, given the trouble these idiots are causing today,

Do you think they will survive without Nigeria? I honestly don't think so.

Quit weeping more than the bereaved! Assuming, without conceding, that Ndigbo ‘cannot survive’ outside the framework of ‘one Nigeria’…..pray, how is that any of your business!? Oh, so all of a sudden you’ve grown a conscience and have started ‘caring’ for others besides yourself!?

There’s a reason sane societies the world over use referendum to gauge the feelings and leanings of a people…instead of listening to the paid utterances of a few naive and greedy efulefus! You can’t sit on your scrawny ass and declare ‘Ndigbo do not want to leave ‘one Nigeria’ because a few idiots held a press conference to declare Nigeria the best thing to happen to them since the invention of sliced bread’! Like i said earlier, there are ways to gauge the sentiments of a people and find out which position holds the majority!

You can’t pretend not to know Buhari and his hegemonic cabal have murdered tens if not hundreds of peaceful agitators in the east…trying to silence their voice in a bid to ensure their ATM continues its tortured existence for their benefit!

You can’t pretend not to know after the state-sponsored murders by the evil Buhari junta, that he rushed to proscribe IPOB as a ‘terrorist’ organisation just to have some sort of defence when accosted by the international community to explain his actions! Meanwhile, as he was rushing to proscribe IPOB….a process that took no more than one or two days, his Fulani herdsmen, once touted as one of the top three most ruthless and bloodthirsty terrorist groups in the world, were left to carry on with their murderous antics all over Nigeria!

Northerners Igbos are not the problem. Igbos can go a thousand times if they so wish. But the issue is if Igbo is left to exit even the Yorubas who say that Fulanis are the best combination to them after Amala and Ewedu wouldn't want Nigeria again.
This is the fear.
The truth is that no one wants to be with the north. If north leaves the southern regions will change the constitution to a people oriented one and stay together.

Thats like holding the keys to a mans house and asking him to go home. What Nigeria should do is give Igbos referendum let them decide if they want to be part of Nigeria or not. It is not for you unity beggars to show your fake concern about if Igbos can survive on their own or not, you cant be drinking panadol over someone elses headache

We should end this long failed British colonial disaster called Nigeria that has brought nothing but suffering to the vast majority of people

You should change whatever you smoke before trying on Nairaland.

1. IIGB0S are not the ATM. They are the parasites of the country.

2. Buhari never murdered any Igbo neither did he run any junta.

3. IIGB0S claim they want to leave the country yet are not making any moves to go back to their region. On the contrary, they keep trooping out enmass 59 other regions.
