The biggest blessing you can give a person not living according to Gods ( not the church’ ) is to correct them . And if you will bless them publicly , then also correct and rebuke them publicly , in love . That is what the scripture says. And no Pope born of woman or anything else can change that truth.

We know blessings makes Holy isn't it. By implication....
You make something holy by impacting your blessings. This is simple sylogistic summarry after I took another look at the whole issue. We do need a controversial person.... They have been other Popes without controversies in very sensitive issues...why is Pope Francis different?
I'm glad revised your submission. I read your earlier thoughts on the matter and I kept shaking my head in dismay. What is there to bless? Read Romans 1:27 - 28

Understanding the Pope’s position on the blessing of Same-Sex relationships before rushing to misrepresent the truth:

*“Fiducia supplicans"* in simpler terms:

*1. Blessings, not marriage:* The Church understands blessings as ways to ask for God's grace and favour in various situations. This document clarifies that it's possible to bless same-sex couples without recognizing their union as marriage.

*2. No change in marriage teaching:* The Church's teaching on marriage as between a man and a woman remains unchanged. This blessing gesture doesn't endorse their relationship but shows God's love for all.

*3. Blessings come in different forms:* There are formal blessings, like at weddings, and informal ones, like at shrines. This document focuses on informal blessings, where anyone, including those in irregular relationships, can ask for God's blessing.

*4. Blessings show humility and need for God:* Asking for a blessing expresses trust in God and a desire for his goodness. Even if someone's situation isn't perfect, they can still seek God's grace.

*5. Blessings have limits:* While the Church can offer blessings to everyone, it can't bless anything contrary to God's will. So, this blessing doesn't legitimize same-sex unions but asks for God's guidance and love.

*6. Discernment and respect:* The document encourages pastors to use their judgment when deciding about such blessings. The setting and words should be clear to avoid confusion with marriage ceremonies.

*7. Hope and openness:* Ultimately, this document reflects the Church's desire to welcome everyone with God's love and mercy, even those in challenging situations. It's a step towards greater understanding and pastoral care.

*Remember:* This is a simplified explanation of a complex document. For a deeper understanding, consult the original text (the English version begins on pages 20 through 28) --

So, applying human wisdom is what will help the LGBTQ+ back to track?
People who accepted Christ as their Lord and saviour, were they converted through human wisdom or through faith in the gospel they heard?

Rom1:27
... Men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.(KJV).
Sir, go and read that scripture over and over until the truth sink in you.
How can a blessing be pronounced on what the scripture called ERROR?

Arm robbers who are about to go into operation can also approach a priest to bless them in their evil dealings?

the Bible teaches that God loves all of his creation and offers forgiveness to those who repent and turn away from their sins.

Jesus did not condemn people based on their sexual orientation, but rather showed compassion and grace to those who were marginalized and oppressed.

He also taught that the greatest commandments are to love God and love your neighbor as yourself.

To approve same sex marriage is against God's teaching but they must be showed love b4 converting them.

We are not in a position to judge anyone because judgement is of the Lord. And Matthew 7:1 warned us never to judge anyone. By the way, Our Lord Jesus Christ made it abundantly clear that he didn't come for the righteous.

Also, I don't think gay practices have connections with evil spirits. I think it's a lifestyle choice. Most times, I consider those folks mentally unstable people, not necessarily possessed by the demon.

Lastly, the Vatican City was declared a country so that the Pope and Catholics will stop interfering in local politics.

The Catholic Church has lasted for over 2000 years and remains the world's largest, richest and oldest international organisation of all time. If our beliefs were that easy to change, believe me, the Universal Church wouldn't have lasted for this long.
What does this have to do with what the pope says? The pope has the power to change anything and everything in the church.

You are not the headquarters. Lol. Calm down.

The Universal Church in Africa is taking her time to explain to the laity the position of the Pope so that they don't get swayed by the opinions of naysayers. Trust me, the Catholic Church has many of them, including in the Christendom
I understand that you have not yet accepted the reality that the catholic church has accepted gay marriages...lol ... but the real catholic church is the place where the Pope made the announcement. Time will tell whether the Nigerian branch supersedes the one in Rome...or not. Or perhaps, the Nigerian branch will break away. Then, will you still be catholic? Lol. Time will tell.

The pope is number 1. If the pope says A and you say your culture in Africa contradicts what the pope says...then, you are the guilty party. Also, the African branch cannot interpret in another dimension what the pope says.

Like I said, time will tell. If the African branch has the liberty of disobeying the pope, we will know. And trust me...it is a double-edged sword in play.

From what is on the ground...the pope says your priests can bless gay marriages. If it doesn't mean accepting their marriages or even allowing them to marry in your church, we will know. Lol. You know that gays that are rejected will start reporting the Nigerian catholic to Rome. And if Rome accepts that it is the Nigerian branch's business to accept or not...time is the answer. grin

Many people don't know why Christianity is Synonymous to Homosexuality.

Romans 1: 22-27

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God into that of a mortal human being (Jesus) and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of
their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

25 They changed the truth about God into a lie, and worshiped and served a creature (Jesus) rather than the Creator (God Almighty) —who is forever praised. Amen.

26 For this Curse, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones(Lesbianism).

27 In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another (Gayism). Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

The above verses point clearly to why Christianity is synonymous to Homosexuality. Christian nations trying very hard to promote homosexuality, thier Pope (Highest Christian Personality) justifying homosexuality and blessing it. They want the whole world to be morally corrupted by their Curse as mentioned by the Bible.

The only solution to Homosexuality today is for Christians to stop worshipping a Mortal creature(Jesus) and worship the True Creator as this is what brought the curse of homosexuality in the first place.

Only a sick person thinks sexual relationship between (Same gender) women or Men is not a curse.

Whatever law they made today, affect all Christians in one way or the other!

Other Christian denominations have always cashed in on areas they think the Catholic Church failed. So, it didn't start today. The Pope had to take a position on this issue because some people are already fighting hard and compelling the church to accept the practice. There's nothing absolutely wrong with the Pope's position.

Blessing someone simply means you accept his positions.

In simple terms, the Pope is wrong, no any explanation can be given.

Prelate Joseph Strickland was forcefully resigned from office simply because he caution the Pope.

Let's not give any explanation to condoling what's wrong.

I think there's a need to define what love really means.
Love does not mean condoling anything that comes around. God has a template which defines love. Love means obedience to his words and precepts. Though God loves sinners, he'll still send them to hell if they don't repent. The Pope's act of showing love may be good in terms of aims, but loving them without being open enough to let them know wrong is wrong would cause more harm than good. Christ ate with prostitutes and tax collectors, yet, he never failed to publicly rebuke them for those evils.
