Nigeria and misplaced priority. The same Akwa Ibom that a syringe manufacturing company just folded is commissioning a worship centre. I keep saying it, religion should be a private matter. We should be deliberate with our priorities in this country.

The scam called religion is in full operation. How people who are smart and intelligent fall for this gimmick I really don't know.

Why are African leaders so short-sighted? The public funds wasted in building this could have been channelled to building public hospitals, schools and good roads. Most of our African leaders are good at wasting public funds on frivolous things that has no direct impact to the people. The governor that built this would think he has achieved something whereas he succeeded in wasting public funds.

Nestled in the heart of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, stands a testament to faith and architectural ingenuity - the International Christian Worship Center. More than just a place of worship, this colossal structure has become a symbol of unity, hope, and cultural significance for the region.

A Beacon of Interdenominational Harmony

Conceived as a space for Christians of all denominations to come together in fellowship, the Worship Center transcends individual churches and fosters a spirit of unity under one roof. This inclusivity is reflected in the design itself, devoid of specific denominational markings, allowing each visitor to find their own spiritual connection within its walls.

Architectural Marvel:

Stepping into the Worship Center is akin to entering a modern-day cathedral. Its awe-inspiring design, resembling a majestic aircraft taking flight, soars skyward, symbolizing the ascent of prayers and aspirations. The central cross, enveloped in the flowing curves of the building, serves as a constant reminder of the faith that unites the diverse Christian community within.

Beyond Worship:

The Worship Center is not just about Sundays. It pulsates with life throughout the week, offering a multitude of facilities and activities. A sprawling museum showcases the rich Christian heritage of the region, while a well-equipped library provides a haven for knowledge seekers. For those seeking solace, dedicated prayer rooms offer quiet spaces for introspection and communion with the divine.

A Catalyst for Community:

The Center's impact extends beyond its physical walls. It serves as a hub for various social initiatives, offering medical assistance, educational programs, and vocational training to the local community. This commitment to social responsibility underscores the Worship Center's dedication to not only nurturing the spiritual well-being of its congregation but also uplifting the lives of those around it.

A Journey of Faith:

Visiting the International Christian Worship Center is an experience that transcends religion. It's a journey of faith, a testament to human ingenuity, and a celebration of the unifying power of shared beliefs. Whether you're a devout Christian seeking spiritual solace or an architecture enthusiast marveling at its grandeur, the Worship Center leaves a lasting impression, reminding us that even in our diverse world, unity and hope can soar on wings of faith.

The International Christian Worship Center in Uyo is more than just a building; it's a living testament to the power of faith, community, and architectural brilliance. As its spires reach towards the heavens, it serves as a beacon of hope and unity, not just for Christians in Nigeria but for people of all faiths around the world.

If you ever find yourself in Uyo, take some time to visit this architectural marvel and experience its unique blend of faith, community, and artistic expression.

So the big worship centres bigger than this in western countries are waste of fund.

In fairness to that god, there is no single evidence of him promising to protect anyone. Those tales are only found in a book written by men. Just like the physics, chemistry, biology, strength of materials, metallurgy, fluid materials, accounting principles and so many other books. I think we should be fair to him.

I heard that the state government wasted a whooping 32 billion on this structure. People will now go there to pray for jobs that the money should have been used to create. This country can never get it right.

Rubbish
But I reason with you. They will build churches with tithes collected from people but the same people can't afford the church university, so many big churches but empty souls with so many oloshos and rituals. Disregation among church embers because pastors love you when you are rich and you will occupy the front seat.

I believe in Jesus Christ too but this is totally wrong.

The moment this governor said he aim is to declare HAPPY HOUR for the people of Akwa Ibom state, I knew he had no vision for the state. Anyway, it's not his fault, even the people who voted him are blind. So what do you expect?

If the blind lead the blind, they both fall into a ditch Matthew 15:14

Not a world class hospital, so less people will be looking for miracle healing and less will have foreign medical trips.
Not a world class training institute or technical school for blue collar jobs.
Not a school.
Not a farm or a food processing centre.
Not a state owned refinery.
Not a stadium or sports centre.
Not a world class tourist restort.
Not factory or assembly plant.
Not investment in Akwai Ibom fishing industry.

But instead, aboy prefers to build church at home and buys designer shirt from Italy. When we all know we can literally pray from our homes since God is everywhere. Nigeria is not having a religious center deficit. Infact, there are more religious centers than real businesses in Nigeria. If you doubt, drive through the city and see the billboards on the streets.

Re: International Christian Worship Center Uyo. Photos by obaidan: 3:51pm On Jan 03
Stop building worship centers. Build people so they can generate value for themselves and the society. What's the point of building big and beautiful worship centers that will be attended every sunday by hungry people or people that cannot afford to go to school.

It's like the government spending a lot of money on religious pilgrimage, when the ministry of education does not have enough money to improve education

I find it appalling building any religious house with state/tax payer money, be it mosque or church.

Religious house don't generate money to government pocket

True, but what about the refineries they spent billions upon billions renovating but never producing? Research on the amount spent to renovate refineries from Jonathan’s time till buhari’s tenure ended, and tell me how much they generated?

That cathedral can generate some monies that can assist orphanage homes and communities. I bet some of the funds here would be used for charity unlike the oil money that returns no money to Nigerians!

I’m not defending whoever built it or with what money it was built but realistically, it will be better utilized for the public than our public assets solely controlled by government like refineries that refines nothing.

What a masterpiece!

However, one must be reminded that the hood does not make the monk.

God is interested only in those who will truly worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Congrats to All Ibomites on this historic unveiling of the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo!
