DeLaRue:
Whichever way you look at the facts of this case, it is difficult to see how the Minister can continue in his present role.

It was reported that he was invited to Aso Rock yesterday.

If that is true, and we haven't heard anything from Aso Rock about the outcome of the meeting, it may well be that they're trying to find a soft landing for him.

But it is difficult to see how any soft landing would not damage this government's reputation.

The Minister got himself into this situation unfortunately and only has himself to blame.

The President should prioritise his government's standing over saving the ass of any Minister that misbehaves, however well the Minister may have performed.

At the very least, the Minister should refund all monies collected under the contract. He should then be demoted to a junior Minister in another Ministry. Even this will still damage the government's reputation immensely, but it would be worse if the government came out with a fudge that keeps him in place as a senior Minister.
Your insistence on demotion to junior minister is not making sense... Why should the person who you condemned as a criminal should still be holding a public office? It's either outright dismissal( if guilty) or retention( if innocent). Enough of your sentimental verdict.
By the way, do you know anything about business law? If the man did not resign years prior to this mess, same Nigerians will still question/attack him, " why didnt he resign from the company 's leadership?" Why persecuting someone who has resigned from the leadership of the company with a proof that is available at CAC? Has CAC denied that his resignation was not received?
Ask yourself this question, if for example, Wale Edun(fin. Minister) was once a director and still a shareholder in Polaris bank, does it mean Polaris is no longer eligible to apply for contract in any govt agencies, such as payment of workers salary? Even if Polaris did not deliver, why not sanction Polaris, why calling out Wale for the failure of Polaris to deliver?
Atiku's Intel has similar issues in the past, and Atiku came to tell Nig that he's no longer in charge of Intel, and he was left off the hook... that's the position of the law.

My passport don almost expire. I cant wait for eternity to renew it abeg.
On a serious note, there are millions of Nigerians that will do his job better than he can but, how many of them are being appointed?
When do you think we will overcome corrupt practices in Nigeria?
Donโ€™t you think we should accept the few ones who do something?
Corruption is in our culture, either we accept it or not.

INTEGRITYA1:
Hope this man will not be affected with this Scenario, one of the best performing Ministers.

Unlike Aregbesola who occupied the same portfolio and just announcing public holidays for good 8 years.

Aregbesola failed both as governor of Osun State and as Minister for the Interior! grin

He ultimately killed what was left of his political career when he challenged his benefactor Tinubu
