As much as i hate all this neo imperialistic conglomerates that takes undue advantage of developing economies,i just hope Reno the jobless blogger is not doing a dirty job for glo.How come few weeks after MTN warned that it will cut interconnectivity with glo,due to backlog of unpaid money owed MTN,Reno is now everywhere calling out MTN.
I just cant trust that national clown,he is cheaper than toilet paper and could have been bought over by just anybody.

That Mtn is a big player in our telecom sphere did not come by government patronage or luck. They braved the uncertainty of our market to set up shop and it is only logical they make return on their investments.

With other players in the same market, it wouldn't be Mtn's doing if these players refuse to expand or upgrade their infrastructure to give MTN a run for their money.

Reno should allow MTN breath abeg!

Rubbish!
MTN has contributed more to the GDP growth many of those countries have enjoyed than the harm they have caused.
If you are doing a study, assuming you know what a proper study is,you analyse the benefits to the economy and the damage to the economy and then arrive at an objective conclusion.
The greatest GDP multiplier of most African countries has been the telecommunications sector.
So after making money, you don't want MTN to take back some of its profit to its home country?
It's like telling Nigerians abroad that they should spend their salaries only abroad and not remit any to Nigeria.
What Omokri has done is what many so called Nigerian studies have done, they have an already prepared answer in their minds then find those things that meet with the answer.
How much foreign dollars has MTN invested in infrastructure?Several millions,if not billions in each African country they operate.
What has been the trickle down effect of the telecommunications sector on the economy:several trillions in the case of Nigeria.
So it's the $500m-$1b they are taking out that would then cripple the economy?Stu pidity.
The greatest cause of the chronic underdevelopment of these countries is gross mismanagement and corruption,Q.E.D.

So finally you're tried of calling PO.
PO really finished you with silence.

So, the man did an excellent expose unlike your typical Nigerian lazy journalist who sits in their offices and writes rubbish without doing any field investigation but all you can write about is PO, the Agulu packaged fraud?

People like you are part of the problems in Nigeria.

This charlatan again with his nonsense talk. Is he now an investigative journalist?

"Every day, an estimated $2 million leaves the Ghanaian economy to South Africa, MTN's home country. That is disastrous for a country with a GDP of less than $80 billion."

If there were no monopoly in Ghana and MTN, Airtel and Glo happens to be all dorminant. The said money would still leave Ghana but now in a shared sum to India, South Africa and Nigeria.

The Tel Companies MTN dorminated in Ghana are mainly foreign companies who also move forex out of Ghana to their parent Companies abroad.

So what's the point?

If I am to make a guess, I think this clown is trying to extort money from MTN. His assertions are baseless because a significant stake in MTN Nigeria is now owned by Nigerians and not South Africans.
Actually it's not about stock or profit but repatriation of funds to their home country under what they term technology transfer

Sir, don't allow you anger paint all Nigeria journalists with the same brush.

I hope you have not forgotten Umar Audu, an investigative journalist with Daily Nigeria who exposed the fake university in cotonou.

Your stereotyping of Nigeria's journalists is in bad taste.

Reno na olodo, MTN offers the best services that's why Nigerians prefer it to others. imagine you having data in Glo and it won't be able to connect because of their bar service.

offer good services and we will pay.

golden Penny spaghetti has been a good product since I started using it, I can't stop using it except they Change quality.

Glo and other Nigerian service providers in all sectors should sit up

My bad. You are right, there are few hard-working ones but most simply write based on hearsay.
But I agree with your overall observation, there are some good ones. I should not paint them all with one brush.
Thanks.

Nigeria economy was damaged by Bubu and being ruined by the mandate thief, certificate forger and narcotics trafficker
FreeStuffsNG:
I get his point but aot of things ruined the economy of Ghana and it predated the arrival of MTN in Ghana.

It is absolutely impossible for MTN to ruin our economy in Nigeria. Not even Dangote nor Shell Nigeria could ruin Nigeria let alone a fellow African foreign company.
God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
