You are very on point. Those asking for war have forgotten the negative effects and the spill over. If there's unrest and war in the North the south will surely be overcrowded with migrants from niger and those migrants will include terrorists etc. It will affect the whole Nigeria like the ripple effect. If there's civil unrest in niger where will the citizens run to? Northern Nigeria. If the Northerners cannot handle it where will they face? South or anywhere else in Nigeria.
