When that refinery starts, government should not sell fuel at a loss, because it would wreck the refinery.

The experts state that any fuel refined in Nigeria would cost N70 less than the landing cost..so fuel better cost N930 at least, or more, certainly not below N700.

We have not diversifed our economy at all, not regulated revenue from mining, not improved agriculture....so here we are. All our leaders, TInubu inclusive are to blame. Pretending that fuel is cheap even made matters worse.
Landing cost only refers to costs involved in shipping the goods to Nigeria, freight, customs duty and other fees, transportation costs of taking the product to the importers warehouse..... grin grin grin grin grin

What about the cost of refining the product and cost of transporting the refined products to filling stations, the excise duties the agberos will collect from the oil tankers moving these products........ grin grin grin grin grin

Coupled with the fact that dollar is now 1630 naira now and climbing, are you ready to buy fuel 2400 naira per litre, since global prices of fuel per litre is nearly 1.50$...... grin grin grin grin

Yoruba economics is different from world Economics........ grin grin grin grin grin

Really a town hall is different..... grin grin grin grin grin

So why were you asking for a minimum wage of 100k?

Where do you expect your country to find it?

You think if fuel is sold at 1k per liter, 100k minimum wage will solve anything ?

Floating the naira without positioning our economy and international trade policies, so naira can compete favorably will make things worse. Naira can't compete with dollars as it is, leaving them for market forces means dollar rate will keep rising perpetually because our dollar demand has not reduced, and nobody is demanding Naira internationally.

You get it correctly

The bolded is a lie.

I was in Nigeria sometimes and the electricity was relatively stable. I heard people complaining that the amount charged was finishing quickly. What did they do? They started bypassing the meters.

Most of you cant pay for the so-called "enjoyment" you covet in the western world.

Na so so complaints. If not, go ask your peeps abroad how they are complaining about bills taking large chunks of their salary.

There is no where in the world where people don't cheat, penalties, sometimes heavy ones ensure people align. Fines for those who cheat are good avenues for those in authorities to make money. If your argument that people bypass meter is true, why weren't people fined and get them to comply?
By the way, more of Nigerians don't have met3rs contrary to your claim and through estimated bill, they pay more for using little energy. You claim Nigeria has power but NERC regulating electricity in Nigeria says a mere approximately 4000MW is currently what is at best available to 200m Nigeria, you seem to know more than those in charge of the electricity In Nigeria.

Nigeria always wishing for comfort but not ready to pay for it.

Nigerians who are meant to enforce are part of the citizens, and what do they do? They take bribes and look the other side while the Discos run at a loss.

Go and read the story of pol pot, a man with nice ideas, he wanted his country to be great and he decided he would use any and all means to make it great. He ended up killing millions of his own countrymen in his quest to achieve this greatness of his country. ( Even the greatness he sought is still up for debate in this present day)

Tinubu has nice ideas but is he ready to kill millions of Nigerians to achieve those goals. Only time will tell.

If one has been following this thing for as long as I have, you would see that we are paying a subsidy.

1.APC apologists cry that fuel is not being subsidised...well it is. Landing cost was N720 as at October, now it is N1000..meaning subsidy costs rose from N20-140 to N300-420 per liter today. We are pushing ourselves into more debt so see where we are

2.IN 2012 january, landing cost was N99 per liter, now it is N1000. Fuel price was N97 per liter now it is N580-720.

Assuming Nigeria kept fuel at N97 per liter as some PDP apologists wanted , by now subsidy would have risen from N2 per liter to N920 per liter ...and note that fuel consumption has risen over the years.

We would have a debt that would make our current debt look like the pocket money you give your 10 year old.

See how much subsidy costs? But all of you, be it PDP or APC or LP, many of you want it.

Tinubu does not determine market price for fuel.

He is even paying subsidy through the backdoor to ensure that you dont pay the real cost.

@bold

That your particular assertion is incorrect. The over bloated percentage of subsidy paid is as a result of naira devaluation/Forex, and not growth in consumption and subsidy payment in actuality.
After the supposed removal of subsidy and the hike in the price of PMS, consumption reduced drastically yet the landing cost has grown so why do you feel it is as a result of government paying subsidy. I really don't understand your grouse with subsidy. If subsidy is totally removed today, as long as naira is getting weaker, the landing cost will continue to grow and the attendant hike in the price of PMS.

Again, why do you assume the cost of subsidy would have grown from N2 to N920 if PDP was still in power. Are you in a way saying it was inevitable for the naira to weaken against the dollar from 180/$ to 1500/$ even if PDP was in power? Do you know if the PDP would have maintained a stable forex as against what is going on today?
For the fact that you are trying to rope in a party that left government almost 10 years ago to defend or explain the chaos that is going on today calls your sincerity into question. You are passing off as the face of Jacob and the hand of Esau.
The growth of subsidy is largely connected to the forex chaos.

Again, your last two paragraphs gave you away as someone representing a certain interest.

I wrote here few years ago that you increase price of fuel to ₦200 per liter ie remove subsidy, within few months, we will be back to the same story. The fuel was ₦89 per liter. Later I said something outrageous ie increase price of fuel to 1k per liter, few months later, they will tell you subsidy is being paid.
I say it again, make fuel 10k per liter and in few months the same story of subsidy will arise. Why? Magomago & inflation.
Our own case must me different and this is especially under a cursed party called APC! A mass spreader of poverty! A bunch of shady characters! Show me one person that does not have kleg in his past, just 1 person. Why do people commit eg financial crimes, deal in elicit substances etc, is it not to make money? You then give the keys to the bank safe to a bank robber for safe keeping. No be juju be that?
Refinary will solve the embarrassment of importing petrol, refinaries are the built, abracadabra! We no have to import crude oil from America to run the refinaries, NO BE JUJU BE DATTT

Do you want to blame Tinubu for that too ?.

Political office holders remunerations are decided by RMAFC.

The constitution is skewed, and the Senate and House of Rep who can change the laws are not ready to do so because it favours them.

The President is meant to agree with everything written in the constitution even if he does not like it.

Not everything ends with the Presidency.

Well, at the end of the day, no matter how many funny stories you tell about me (I no know any politican, the one I even know retired centuries ago, and is not in active politics for over 10 years self and was in PDP anyway)....things cost money, even petrol, and if you pretend it is cheap, wahala go result.

See Venezuela wey sell fuel for N40, today their once powerful refinery has gone from refining 900000bpd to refining less than 100000bpd.

Even NIgeria, subsidy dey since 1973, at the end we went from 400000 bpd in the 80's to 92000 in 2012, to 6500 in 2019.

And you think subsidy works still.

Anyway, cry, weep, abuse, get angry, and anyway...your beloved TInubu is still paying a subsidy self, so what are you angry about.....but so long as that subsidy remains, wahala dey.

Good evening, son.

I wish their LP Obi can take over power tomorrow.
Don't explain anything to the mobs.....they will never face realities.

Nigeria is long gone and we will default on our debt obligations soonest.
Everyone should brace .

That was a wacky illustration you just made.

The President cannot go against what RMAFC determines.

It is an impeachable offense.

Understand how your country is structured and know who determines what, then you will realise that some of your governors suppose to be dragged for something that you are dragging the President for.

What the emergency h-economic h-experts supporting their Jaguda brother's subsidy removal and Naira floating combo-lation do not realise is that in Nigeria, corruption always rises to the occasion. Corruption is the system, and the system must run. Interpret this any how you want.

But one thing is clear, Nigrerians would pay more for fuel and pay more for the dollar throughout Jaguda's cursed regime, and guess what? There would be nothing to show for their suffering at the end of the day. They would suffer in vain because whatever 'gains' or touted positive impacts that were supposed to emanate from these policies would be swallowed up by constantly evolving iterations of corruption. Nothing go reach ground. The masses go hear am.
