Imagine! It has to get to Germany before it was discovered. Meanwhile we have NAFDAC and other regulatory bodies consuming tax payers money monthly but couldn't conduct a simple lab. test to know this.

My main concern is this, NAFDAC approved a herbal drink for consumption which perharps have gone through their labs, tests etc only for thesame NAFDAC to warn its citizens of the dangers associated with what they have long approved because Germans found out the risks associated with ingesting it after their own tests, they should be ashamed of their incompetency rather than raising shoulders high to warn us

Who knows how many other things we ingest that have NAFDAC approved number without proper & thorough test, this calls for a serious concern but Nigerians i know will just laugh it off & sweep it under the carpet as like many other wrongs going on here & there and yet we want to grow & flourish like other good & stable nations, Upe!

The earlier we stop deceiving ourselves & become serious for a better nation, the better for us!

My worry is that, this mixture has being consumed by many Nigerians for years.
It took Germany flagging it up before NFDAC took any concrete action.

How many more of these kind of stuffs are in circulation..

Only an illiterate or obstinate person will go ahead to buy it knowing it contains way more than the recommended dose of an active ingredient.
If you take this and mistakenly combine it with BP drugs, you could literally die. Things like this are what kills some men who die on top of women.

And this NAFDAC take millions to register a product.

NAFDAC does not operate an open door policy for enquiries. They are corrupt and criminal..

When you go to their office to enquire about the registration process, you meet serious bureaucratic brick walls. They tell you to go online. Yet the information they have online is so vague and useless. They are indirectly asking you to go through agents where you pay through your nose to get your registration done. ou

You actually pay in dollars to get a medical product registered in Nigeria, making the medical products and equipment expensive for citizens.

The DG. of NAFDAC is pretending to be a saint. An undercover journalistic investigation is currently ongoing on the corruption and bureaucracy going on in NAFDAC, when the result is out, the world will hear.

Let them continue to waste money on brandishing a saintly public image for themselves in NAFDAC, while they are the most corrupt agency in Nigeria... The chicken will come home to roost one day.

That's why people like us keep lamenting here about the state of things in our drug markets and regulatory agencies. The rate at which people consume drugs indiscriminately in Nigeria calls for concern.

There is need for a more stringent measure to control drugs in this country. Other countries that don't allow easy access to drugs by untrained people are not fools. Drugs are meant to be used strictly upon prescription by a medical doctor and upon being dispensed and counselled by a qualified Pharmacist. But here even illiterates prescribe and sell drugs! It is wrong!

That is why life expectancy in Nigeria is so low, because drugs kill as much as they can also cure ailments. NAFDAC, PCN and other regulatory agencies need to wake up!

The same Nafdac sent this product to their Lab for more than three weeks analysis, but their results did not tell them that they approved & certified a killer drug till the Germans did! The Prof. Moji dey wanted to use to equate Prof. Dora don fall their hand yakata! All titles do not carry the same weight.... Kikikiki!! grin

They do... but this is not a case where NAFDAC said it's good and they said it is bad. We now have to ask ourselves.... does NAFDAC really do serious testing before approving such products? It obviously did none in this case or they would've found it is not all herbal and had contents that were not even listed. Now we should be very suspicious of any bottled product approved by NAFDAC.

NAFDAC could be sued for negligence. If we had a responsible government all the lab scientists in NAFDAC and other NAFDAC officials who handled the registration of this product should have been fired for this. It shows they are useless. Collecting fat salaries for nothing.
