The name 'Ounje Eko'.
In the past, Lagos, being a mini Nigeria would most likely have used a more cosmopolitan name for the initiative. Hence my comment.

I care less who buy or doesn't buy.
when it's ur turn then u call am ounje 9ja

Lagos is a Yoruba state she can use her own language. How is that one an offence ?

How will this be sustainable?

Was there a war or natural disaster?

apc and giving stipends

Mediocre

But if this must happen, why not open a app and let people order online and get delivered to their places

it's no mediocre, before the lybia disaster, i was in lybia and places like this are were my boss gets his stuffs.
It happens in America and other developed climes.
Are you sure you know whatcha talking about?

Of all the people there wearing traditional clothes,it is only amaka that the journalist could interview. Sense is far away from you people
If Amaka wasn't interviewed, her people would have made mockery of those patronizing the market as if it's an offense to buy items at discount. We can already see the gnashing of teeth and wailing on the thread.

Don't derail the thread.
If you don't want to buy from this market, you are free to buy food stuffs elsewhere.

If he doesn't want to buy? His wife is probably still in the queue.

Very unserious govt. They remove subsidy from oil that will have net and cascading effect, now giving temporary subsidy on food that will only reach just few individuals in the society.

It is not palliative.

The Farmers supplying foods to these markets will be praying for the Gov't

The economic policies has advantages and disadvantages.
It is meant to stimulate greater local productivities and less reliance on foreign goods.

Instead of lamenting everyday on Social Media, Nigerians hardly discuss about solutions to their problems.

You should be thinking of better ways of producing foods and partnering with your State Government to supply foods to their residents like thus policy.

I ask again, is this sustainable

Must you show your myopic and tribalistic mindset in your comment ?? The program is in a south western state with almost everybody in the state that understands the language "Ounje". If they had used Igbo language to write it you wouldn't have raised any eyebrow. Grow up boy

If done well, it is better than just doing flashy things with money. It is just assisted buying and processing to ease the burden of greedy middlemen.

Nice one but Is this sustainable?

A government dishes out calamitous economic policies that have impoverished the common man, then turns around to provide palliatives that are in no way commensurate with the sufferings they have inflicted on the people.
this is where I don't understand how Nigerians think, Government damaged your livelihood, then government is giving u palliative after damaging your livelihood, watch how they will use this to campaign for Tinubu for 2nd term, they will say he produced Sanwo Olu that is saving them from hunger

Welcome to Nigeria Socialist republic.
Suffering and smiling. grin grin grin grin
The APC and wicked yooba idiots will commend the governor and tag it a good initiative and good gesture. Lmao grin

APC plan was to destroy the Nigerian economy and have social index of and wide gap between the Rich and poor. Chase the middle class out of the country and then use the poorest of the poor to control the rest of the poor and middle class trapped in the country by buying their votes and offering them socialist intervention in return for massive inflation and unprecedented suffering that they won't think about anything other than quenching their severe hunger first "Na who don chop dey reason another thing".

Is this the Lagos that is the 5th largest economy in Africa and richer than many African countries ? grin grin
