Speaking like this could mean you are a suspect. Anyway, those killers only have few days more to live, they will soon be discovered and our soldiers will pay them the iron price.

It's a shame what soldiers in Nigeria have gradually been turned into. The dread ,respect and high esteem soldiers in Nigeria were accorded have evaporated.

Yahoo boys, land grabbers, politicians now use soldiers to settle scores! Soldiers!

They have really weaponised poverty in this every sense in this country. It's a damn shame

1. The killing of the troops is condemnable and the killers should face the law

2. There wasn't this level of outrage and sense of vengeance in the military when 23 soldiers were ambushed and killed in Niger State.

What clues exactly are the troops looking for when they comb a community looking for the killers?... they have no names... no phonotos ... no description ... no locations or hideouts of the perpetrators. The communities already cleared may very well be where the killers live. They are working without intelligence... just muscle. Thus should be the work of Police ... investigations to get information. I strongly believe if a huge reward is posted for information leading to the arrest of the killers... they will get most of them in days... if not ... I wish them luck.

Military on a peace keeping mission in a rural area? Were the soldiers paid to support a particular warring side? Was the headquarters in the known before they embarked on the "peace mission"? A high level of enquiry should be set up.

I couldn't wish anything less on the perpetrators. But I'll not justify the harm to innocent citizens in this guise. That will further erode the existing animosity people have towards the army.

Collective punishment and torture of community members to "produce" the killers.

There's something deeper than the media can carry concerning this incident.

But with GOD everything will be bared in due course...

Zaki Biam and Odi - two massive massacres of civilians took place under President Obasanjo. If people in Borno kill soldiers and take their hearts and other body organs I am sure the same thing will happen.

Many have forgotten that the counter coup of 1966.was based on the way soldiers and politicians from one part of Nigeria were slaughtered including a dastardly murder of a pregnant wife. Ironsi's slow response to deliver "justice" led to the counter coup.

Do you honestly expect any President to shut down reprisals by the Army? Let's be real? Who is going to enforce such?

Once soldiers are killed in large numbers and their bodies abused, irrespective of where in Niveria it takes place, there will be reprisals. If BH lived in a fixed territory, they would face the same fate ( and they often do) but BH are a shadowy pop up band of terrorists - with no fixed address for directed reprisals.

Let's just pray that the NA find the people they are looking for. The same thing is happening in Gaza now. In the Falklands war, Argentina actually wanted to surrender but the UK army whose troops were already enroute said they could not stop their troops desire for revenge and that the troops could not be safely returned to civil society as they were already on war footing...in other words when the blood of soldiers gets hot, they must discharge it somewhere.

Unfortunate reality. Grammar does not work in these situations.

Collective punishment is a violation of international law .... but does not apply to the US and Israel.

There is an adage in Yoruba which is literally translated as “if you fail to rebuke your neighbour for eating a bad ant in the afternoon, his restlessness at night will deprive you of your sleep”.

You cannot measure someone’s reaction to an attack.

I responded with a punch to a slap you gave me, and you went to town that I didn’t respond in equal measure. Are you okay?

This explains the Soldiers’ response to the incident at Okuama.

No! you did not respond to the slap given to you but you responded by hitting a sledgehammer to a passerby who was never part of your fight.
If the army has responded with a bomb to the same militants that killed their personnel then it would have been a fair game but killing the innocent villagers makes it all worrisome.

Where is the photos of the massacre of civilian at least we have seen photos of the slaughtered soldiers.

insidelife22:
What ever happened to our military personnels in Delta should be totally condemned.

But the massacres of civilians going on in retaliation by the army should be strongly condemned.

The NA lacks intelligence.
