Smh. Only ignorant people will take this OP serious.

The interview stated that the main reason is because government has been subsidising and it's unsustainable so they approved NERC's recommendation that electricity consumers who get electricity for 20 hours and above should be taken off subsidy so that government can still manage to cope giving subsidies to those enjoying less hours of electricity.

You guys better quit social media and go to great school so that Government will take you serious. That man , the Minister of Power, Adelabu, you are misquoting has a 1st Class in Accountancy from OAU, Ile Ife o.
And so freeking what? If he likes let him have 1st class from heaven University.. He is accountant and a banker what does he know about electricity and power? And who is he to tell us how to use our light? Who is he to tell people how to use their freezer.. Hope they increase minimum wage as they have increase the tariff of power cause in the abroad he is saying the minimum wage is not 30k naira... Confused people

What a daft.

It's difficult to understand the business logic. Shouldn't you as a company supply more electricity so that your customers consume more and you make more money? Why should MTN, GLO, AIRTEL, worry if I sleep and leave my data on?

Go to school first. With ignorant comments, guys like him will trash and ignore you forever.
It's until you go to school, pay the price for real education, that you realise that you're not destined to be a nobody, at least, intellectually.

Smh. To be a Minister of Power, it's not compulsory to be an Engineer. The choice of an experienced and brilliant Accountant like him now makes sense if you understand that the biggest problem now with our public electricity system is accounting problems. Operators, regulators and consumers are battling cost reflective issues. The Engineers are on the team as well as lawyers etc
Go to school o. Trolling and criminal cyberbullying is not work abeg

Shut up!!! You're an ignoramus.

This minister must be a closet Obedent, a mole from Labour Party. There is no way a Nigerian can be this dull and incompetent without being a follower of Obi.

1st class in accountancy means what ?
Even if he was a Havard first in administration, of what relevance is that to the issue at hand and his responsibilities as the minister of power?

When leaders , irrespective of their academic credentials, find themselves clueless and incompetent about their responsibilities, they usually resort to blaming the masses, the victims of their incompetence. Of course, it's much easier to blame the victims than it is to work courageously to improve their lot.
It's the known way of cowards.

Once the power minister begins to blame Nigerian consumers of electricity, then it's the 100% proof that we should not expect any real improvement in power supply from the power ministry.

These so called leaders are always quick to compare Nigerians with the citizens of developed countries, but they will never compare themselves with the leaders of such countries. Look at the incompetent and corrupt manner they have shamelessly mismanaged the affairs of this country. A country like Nigeria is still grappling with the basics. Give people 24 hours electricity first and keep quiet.

He makes no sense. You cannot leave a freezer on without using it. Something is inside, that is why it is on. And it is a normal practice all over the world. The man is a village boy obviously. Normal people don't switch off their freezers when going to work or something.

I don't know how old you are, Mr Adelabu , you are a big fool, you are not worthy of being a political appointee. You are a dirty disgrace to your brain, too dull.
Let me ask you Mr shameless minister, do filling stations ever complain that drivers buy to much PMS for their vehicle's?
If you have brain at all, you should know that if you have given all electricity consumers prepaid meters, your stupid senseless prattle would not be needed.

Have you even provided enough electricity?
The president should sack you, you have nothing to offer.
See as you dey disgrace Tinubu with your incompetence,

What an irony...

These are people who while at functions, the official vehicle is kept running for hours so it would be cool when they are entering it.

People who don't obey traffic lights because they are in official vehicles.

People who use official vehicles for private errands.

People who post government security agents 24/7 at remote homes they visit just once or twice a year.

These are the people talking about waste and excesses...

It is very unfortunate that a party like APC exists...
So unfortunate,,,, he is even saying power is cheaper here, that's why they increased it i guess, so Mr Minister should tell us what the minimum wage is in UK or Canada and what is it in Nigeria, perhaps we can start from there

God bless u my brother, that's exactly where my mind went to since he is comparing Nigeria with those developed countries, then our minimum wage should not be less than #3,234,000 per month (£10.50 X 8 hours X 22 days X #1,750). Let them pay #3 million as minimum wage and check whether we will complain about the new tariff
