You still believe I'm igbo. grin.

Well don't mind social media the only igbos agitating for Biafra are Simon Ekpa and few of his cronies majority of igbo want to be part of Nigeria.

Palestinians killed 1500 Israelis in their
home on Oct 7th . And Hamas spokesman said they'll do it again and again. Then they hide under their civilians. This people Hamas especially don't deserve your pity.

You guys believe that the Palestinians are experiencing genocide and apartheid which isn't true

I'm no supporter of any terrorist group including Hamas but Israel has been terrorising those people since the creation of their so called nation. Don't act like the violence and land grabbing started in October 7.

Well, how come the well meaning Igbos don't come out to condemn the Biafran agitation? angry. Similar how you dont condemn your *few* bad eggs trafficking drugs all over the place grin

They picked a side dumbass and show the world where and with whom stand, it's called awareness.

It is idiotic for you to even think that they believe their protest would stop a thousand year war, that's not the aim of the protest.

A nobody that has never stood for anything in his life would of course never understand.
You are right, it's called awareness. They were looking for clout.
It takes a complete fool to think the world is moved one way or the other by there actions.
Wise people don't engage in useless protest.
There actions cannot change the mind of anyone.
To change minds and gain influence takes more than sleeping in a tent. But then with people like you there is no hope.

The UN partitioned the land between the Jews and Arabs the Jews declared their state and the Arabs declared war and they lost since then they have remained sour losers. Israel did not grab land they lost the land in a war with Israel that they started because it is written in the Quran to kill the Jews.

If you were here in Nigeria you'll know that most igbos prefer to be part of Nigeria than Biafra. Ohaneze the cultural group for igbos have long denounced IPOB.

And I do condemn Nigerians who commit crime and bring Shame to the nation. But your police should do their job. And you guys should stop taking drugs it's not good . grin

Look here, you don't get to dictate how other Africans should react and align with when it comes to international affairs. South Africa and Nigeria don't have the same journey , these two countries have different histories and realities and therefore what works for you might not work for us. No one asked Nigerians to intervene in anything , the same way we cannot be expected to to take the same stance as you on the issue.

Whatever rocks your boat.

Students and staff at the University of Cape Town (UCT) arrived on Thursday morning to find about ten tents with Palestinian flags and banners near the main plaza.

The encampment is in solidarity with similar movements at universities like Wits in Johannesburg and others in the United States, where students have occupied spaces. They are calling for financial and academic boycotts of Israel because of the Gaza war and occupation of Palestinian land.

The students set up camp on Wednesday and spent the night on campus. Some of their banners read “resistance is beautiful” and “how many students need to be killed before UCT does something”.

They also laid out a long white banner down the steps of the Sarah Baartman Hall with the names of a couple of hundred children and adults who have died thus far in the war since October, as well as messages of support.

The encampment was organised by the student movement, UCT4Palestine. According to organisers, they started the encampment to commemorate the “ongoing nakba” (the catastrophe), the mass displacement of Palestinians during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948. The space is also being used for artistic and educational purposes in solidarity with students at Wits University in Johannesburg. (pics 3 & 4)

Among their complaints, protesters claimed that UCT has financial ties with Israel and demanded that the institution break all ties with Israel. UCT4Palestine, in a statement, said, “We call on UCT and all institutions of higher learning to live up to their stated values by supporting the Palestinian call for a total boycott of Israeli academic institutions and corporations complicit in human rights abuses and genocide.”

Jamie Rosengarten from South African Jews for a Free Palestine said that they are “creating a proudly decolonial zone where we will mourn what’s happening right now in Gaza and Rafah”.

He said that there was a call for people to come together in a safe space and show solidarity.

The UCT4Palestine movement will also be collecting non-perishable food, warm clothing, and blankets during the encampment. These items will be distributed to a few poor local communities where they are desperately needed.

Students have vowed to continue their action until they get a response from UCT.

UCT spokesperson Elijah Moholola said, “The University has noted an encampment set up on Upper Campus. UCT has always upheld the right by any members of the campus community to embark on peaceful and lawful protest. The executive has not been formally engaged by nor received any correspondence from the group.”

It's a fair question - albeit not an intelligent one. Admittedly, Africans generally don't seem to care much when African's are hurting. It's sad. But Nigeria can say it has intervened in countless African crises (including Congo) over the decades. It can plead that it currently has a lot of crises at home as the reason it can't do much about Sudan. Even at that, it recently showed some initiative about Niger. And, at least, it's not carrying Palestine on its head while ignoring the problems nearer home, is it? But South Africa?

And "hypocrite" has become the cliché everyone throws around whenever they're accused of anything and can't come up with a coherent defence - as if another's failures or culpabilities justify yours. You should be better than that, ma'am.

One would think that being a citadel of learning, most of it's occupants would have gained a certain degree of clarity as to the context underlying this crisis or at least try to gain an understanding. Either these people are trying to gaslight us or they just being dumb and ignorant with these kind of sh**t.

Most of those protests are funded by civil organizations collecting money from Palestinian and Islamic sympathizers. There are definitely several gullible students involved but most of the protest organizers are in it for personal benefits just like it was found in the case of movements for Black Lives Matter in the USA when some of the organizers and promoters ended up spending millions buying personal houses a couple of years after.

After BLM Foundation raised $90 million in the name of fighting for black lives, Patrice Cullors, one of the co-founders of the foundation bought a $1.4m luxury home in Topanga Canyon, near Malibu, and owned three other homes, including a custom ranch in Georgia. She resigned after the scandal broke out

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57277777.amp

At least 3 billionaires have been discovered in the USA to be involved in funding anti-Israel protests on campuses and across the nation. So this is not just a matter of students waking up and protesting. Money is involved.

LMFAO. Oh God!. ....unnecessary grammar grin.

I said you're a hypocrite and you are. So South Africa doesn't have too much going on in South Africa? grin. The bond between Palestine and South Africa is a decades long one, this is not a trend that was picked up by SA because it's now popular to do so; go back and research what has lead us here with them and what their stance was on us when they too were getting bombed even back then. The two places a binded by common history and present realities that we don't share with the rest of Africa. You cannot expect us to abandon a cause that we identify with more than any in this world because most of Africa is in turmoil . South Africa cannot be tied down to African issues when we also share a lot with others outside of the continent, and mind you South Africa is not a black country like most, we are a multi-racial country and that will always have us more talked about and involved with the outside world than other African countries. What you and other countries who share a lot of similarities should be doing is forming alliances that could assist your own causes instead of trying to black-shame us into doing the work you should be doing grin.

South Africa is the one that brokered the peace deal between the warmongers of Ethiopia , where was the rest of Africa? Is Ethiopia a warzone now after that intervention?

South Africa has been actively involved in the Mozambican and SADC terrorism fight, and we don't need credit for that because it's our duty and our region.

South Africa is has had its army in Congo for decades, and brought more soldiers this year.

The same SA army has been deployed in Burundi and Sudan, and we are accused of not doing anything by idle nations grin.

Who is the biggest champion of AfCTa that encourages internal African trade:who is doing more than us , whilst others are busy working with the West and East to destabilise the whole thing ?.

You're funny people. SA cannot carry the continent on its head alone whilst the rest are minding their own issues and critiquing our every move instead of being active. Rubbish!!!.
