What the Obi of Onitsha said is that Onitsha are Igbos who initially left the East and ventured to Ife(Ado) but later had a misunderstanding with Ife people, then decided to return home. Thanks for the explanation. I wish our ancestors had written books and passed down. Alot of history was passed on through oral narration. We did not start documenting history till Europeans returned in the 19th century. There were a few European history about Benin/ife connection in the 17th century I think. A Benin prince was also sent to I think Portugal in the 16th or 17th century.
