The most useless National Assembly in the world now is our national assembly. Imagine of all the numerous challenges Nigerians are facing but the national anthem is there problem. But come to think of it, what is even the function of the legislature sef? Because I don't understand what those guys are doing there.

An anthem most of them can't even recite. They'll leave the most important things and embark on matters not important to the people

Accelerated the passage of a senseless bill that will change nothing to improve the lives of citizens
A very useless senate and HOR, a very senseless legislative arm of government

Jobless people.

What has the national anthem got to do with it?

People are suffering. But the bill to revert to the colonial era anthem sped through our typically slow legislation.

Our legislation is never fast when a public-spirited bill is passed.

I don't know whether this is a curse.

Sign of joblessness. Of all the myriads of problems ailing the country it is changing the national anthem that is the most important thing for these clowns. What about anti corruption bill? That one will never see the light of day as they are all guilty of same

They should prioritize important issues not what doesn’t directly benefit the citizens.

We have more pressing issues than this na.

They didn't change the anthem. They only went back to the original.

If you're not the one who disvirgined your wife, you will regret your marriage because she will definitely go back to fvck her ex and you will train his children. How will you suffer to pay the bride price of a woman who was fvcked with just two eggs and indomie?

The original anthem is better. Just like women, they're better in their original state. Do not breed with a second woman. Find an original (virgin) woman.

Whatever you are taking is not good for you, quite

Those of us that do not like the old anthem because it was composed by the British have no other reason than that.

In terms of unity and diversity, the old anthem recognizes that in its lyrics much better than the current one.

Since we want to completely erase our colonial history, why not change the country’s name from Nigeria to something new.

Hope this old anthem will make dollar to be N216, fuel N87 while a bag of rice will be N10000?

Daily it gets clearer and clearer, this is a nation with small minded leaders. I dare say local champions, has no business or interest in changing the lives of it's citizens. let alone global influence, value or impact . A Reflection of the average Nigerian, no difference with elected officials, same thinking cap.

[
President Bola Tinubu has in the past advocated the adoption of the old National Anthem in place of the current anthem.
]

The same manner political restructuring of Nigeria is supposed to pass vruuuum in any political restructuring Conference.
Military dictators from Northern Nigeria did not even consult Nigerians when they wrongfully used land mass or population figures as yardstick to proliferate 20 new federating units in one northern region but allowed only 17 new federating units for two southern regions.
The 36 states and Abuja polotical structure assigned excess polotical and economic advantages to the old Northern region at the detriment of the two southern regions.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu crisscrossed the SW region for more than 15 years from 1999-2014 asking for political restructuring of Nigeria.

Racoon:
Nigeria's inflation rate is now at 33.69% as at April 2024 - the highest in 28years since Mar 1996. Since the turn of the new year, the naira, which was floated almost a year ago has witnessed a dramatic depreciation, leaving a devastating mark on organised businesses across the board.

The prices of staple foods like beans and maize have increased by 300 to 400 per cent over the past year following the removal of the fuel subsidy and the depreciation of the naira. Inflation is outpacing the ability of families to cope, making essential food items unaffordable.

Yet see how they hurriedly granted accent with gusto to a matter that has not national bearing on the sufferings their citizens are undergoing at this point of our national life. The most useless rubberstamp stooges.

A Racoon says the "National Anthem" of a country has National bearing....

LoL

This one thinks all the national assembly should be talking about is food.

Racoons are always found in thrash can scavenging for food anyways.

Trash talk from a racoon is such a surprise.
