Pepe has underperformed thus far but I am not going to up on him because I believe he is talented enough to succeed in the EPL. I think he is going through the phase of understanding the speed, intensity and spacing in the EPL. He came with a price tag and that is definitely going to play into the justified expectation for him to prove his worth early and for a player who has never commanded that amount of attention, it can become difficult to shake off and just be yourself instead of trying to impress the gallery to prove you are worth the price. Sadly, I don't trust Emery enough to be the one to help Pepe navigate this phase. He would have to rely on himself or someone close within or outside the team.
Me also, I'm not giving up on him o. But one thing he needs to do is to try and take risks as he was doing at lille. Dribble forward more, take deadly shot more...he's has the talent. With time it must surely showcase. But with his nonchalant attitude of not wanting to beat defenders instead opting for a cross which he's not known for, then even his own facets of his game might disappear with time. I just pray he turns up for good, I'm not sure, as you said, emery is as patient as Wenger. I mean look at how he relegated mustafi and ozil. I can't remember Wenger exiling you even if he doesn't like you.

of all his signings, I'll give it to guendouzi. Even though he has his flaws but his never say die attitude and confidence and passion really edges his flaws here. Coupled with the fact that he's improved. Torreira ought to be, but since he's playing him out of position and have not really been impressive, then, presently, guendouzi wins it for me
keyword “exceptional”.
Guen has improved his forward game but not “exceptional”

But I get it that he’s his most performing signing so far, that alone says a lot about how shîtty Emery has been in the transfer window.

lol, yeah. I get your point. But I feel the players have talents, but it's just the way he's utilizing them that's killing the players. That's how I see it

i wasn’t the one though the discussion was based on their performance of last season which I agree with.

We’ve both been shit this season though.

So Spurs to can get raped like this shocked shocked
My first time of seeing this from them..

Serge Gnabry is the reason I feel most of our youngsters if nurtured, learned and grew under quality management, will make them top players playing top football...

Adelaide and Bennacer, are good example..
Good luck to Saka,Guen,Nelson,Willock,Balogun et al it's never easy in England conpares, not even when we lack quality senior players..

You were actually the one who first registered Ur displeasure at me calling Tottenham "lásán" which translates to "ordinary", "mere", "common" etc.

You asked for my reason for calling them that which I explained b4 I had a back and forth with Khalifa who thinks Spurs have been way better than us in recent times (not just last year)

You can check page 1532 forward. I still maintain Tottenham is shi.t ; Fowl shi.t

I haven’t denied that, I didn’t argue with you on that day that was my point. I remember the discussion dragged on and i wasn’t a part of it.

I only said u can’t call them ordinary when u support Arsenal, cos based on their recent performance they’ve been better than us.

Yes, u didn't argue. Khalifa did.

Well it's obvious they are ordinary, the same way arsenal has been in recent years. No trophy whatsoever to show for their so called "top level performance" in recent years

We're bleeped with Emisery in charge...

I saw this on live TV on Sunday when Lee Dixon was on NBCSN with Rebecca Lowe, Robbie Earle and Mustoe and I almost broke down because it was apt.

The players in the triangle are not even closing their man and the biggest point he made was that the 3 midfielders are always far away from each other. Worse still there is no communication between the midfielders to close the gap which opens space for passes that breeze past the midfield into our defense.

That is why I will keep asking, what do these guys do during trainings? I mean, apart from posing for pictures. I wasn’t and still not joking when I ask that question because from the play especially those with eyes on tactics you can see the players are confused and clueless on how to play translate the coaches tactics.

If you need evidences of what I am saying, watch the first 20/25 minutes of our EPL games this season because you will see the players trying so hard to execute the tactics. I was amongst those who supported Emery’s hiring but the man has fallen my hand so much. I was clear when I said I would give him until the end of this season before making a conclusive argument for or against him but he has not done anything to justify my stance about him and it is so frustrating.

I brought out this photo stuff last season cos during carzola's time ex footballers complained but some of us here, I don't understand how they think especially that lowlife gambler he was everywhere that day.

Reason you’ll hardly see me join the bandwagon of “blame the defenders”, cos our defenders are the most exposed. You need to take a wholistic approach when analysing a game but most peeps here would rather view from the angle where the last mistake was made.

The midfield set up is utterly useless, lacks creativity going forward and does little to nothing in shielding the defence but for some reasons Some think Tierney and Bellerin who play as Full-backs will solve the midfield woes.

how’s what I’ve been saying different from what was said in that video? Another reason I asked what style is Emery playing cos his signings can’t execute what peeps say his style is.
He also mentioned Guen and Xhaka as culprits. But because I’m not named Lee Dixon I hate Guen.

Most games Guen is most times seen escorting opposition into our box while Xhaka ain’t fast enough to cover for him but we’ll choose to blame defenders that the midfielders always expose and get them overwhelmed with a lot to contend with.

Next game Emery starts them in midfield again, doing same thing expecting a different result. Only a fool does that!

Serge Gnabry
An example of bad mouthing a young prospect instead of encouraging him to discover his talent.

They once said he isnt good enough for West Brom, not to talk of Arsenal. But today he is decimating teams in the CL.

We lost our freely provided winger, only to spend 72m for someone less talented.
Guendouzi comes again to mind, they say he only recycles possession, not quick, no stamina. But the boy keeps pushing, they can't see how he has been gradually improving since last season.

Surely it takes special eyes to see good talent.

Against LFC the midfield was rubbish, VVD pass from his half to our box18, yet people were blaming luiz for the pk

stop lying through your teeth! Gnabry was excellent and a lot here never wanted him sold particularly after that international competition. Wenger had to sell him cos he couldn’t guarantee him a starting position. Guen was not close to what Gnabry was at same age. Bring a post where peeps criticized Gnabry u liar!

Who saw atlectico trying to stop a counter attack last night....madness
I mean the total squad went full speed backward, not only that they gathered in same place. Doing that they didn't only block the attack they dis-stablized the opponent.

But arsenal you will see them running helter skelter, giving opponents space, time to decide where to kill us

you’ll see our midfielders behind chasing the opponent’s attacking us while our defenders are seen running back into our box while turning their heads to see how close the attack is, shouting “agbé oo”while at it.

these things are embarrassing to watch. Painful to the eyes as well.
Auba will then manage to squeeze a goal in, then we start hearing the tactics was to let the opposition have the ball.

We now come to watch our opponents play ball.

I will be civil in my response.

Probably you thought Gnabry was excellent. But guys like Tony Pulls felt he wasn't good enough. So many players have been termed not good enough until someone else who saw something good decided to harness it.

Many fans including you think Guen is not good enough. Assuming Emery followed your line of thought we would not see the other qualities Guen has started showing this season. He undoubtedly has been our best midfielder so far this season. This speaks volumes.

Someone like Nelson may currently be under fire, but good coaches will not deny the qualities he can bring out when properly managed.

Remember De Bruyne was a Chelsea reject. But today he is bossing the PL. I am sure a lot of Chelsea fans regret not keeping him.

Serge Gnabry wasn't good enough to play for West Brom. But he is good enough to play for Bayern.

The point is for me, as long as a player makes conscious efforts to improve his game, try things even if he fails, I will always give that player a chance.

No player is the perfect player. Everyone has a weakness- some are slow, some lack stamina, some can't stay in position, etc. But these are not what I am looking out for, I try to find their strengths instead.

Xhaka can't run, but he can pass.
Ozil can't defend, but he creates chances.
Auba can't dribble but he positions himself well to score.
Giroud is one legged but good with his head.
Guen may not be Modric, but he has potentials. That's what I am looking at, and that's what I want us to see. Funny thing is that, he always gets positive reviews else where except for you lots. And because you and sod can type, you fill the thread with negative insinuations.
