Upon all our wailings Jodera, Kai was called up to German NT. What are they seeing that we are not? I hope we get to see him play actually and assess his performance outside Arsenal shirt.

Lol.. I don't know why you're bringing this up Tbh.
Who didn't expect that Kai will be called up to national team?
Or did I in anyway insinuate he won't be called up to the national team?

Even Maguire with all his floppings is still making national team, how much more Kai?.

Bro, na wa ooo lipsrsealed

This is not the first time he'll be playing outside Arsenal shirt.

He played Euros and WC and he's not been spectacular in German shirt.
He has played numerous friendlies in German shirt and he hasn't been spectacular on most occasions.

I don't want to talk about his Chelsea's shirt cos anyone who followed his Chelsea's stint needs no epistle.

So please don't make it seem as if we bought one World class player that's just acclimatizing to arsenal's shirt.

Lol... I'm not surprised tbh and he's really doing a good job on it grin

I think he's really looking at the reward. If Havertz shines las las, he'll be like "I told you so". cheesy

While everyone (including me) hopes for Havertz to shine but it shouldn't be at the detriment of the team and that's all we ask.

If he shines, we'll start to sing his praises(ask Viera and Nketiah).

But until then, it's annoying to see him drop stinkers upon stinkers. Not when we've grown into a title-challenging team. We don't have that luxury again

Lemme talk about our Corner kicks I've observed so far.

Last season and the season before that, our corner have been very effective and dangerous(we've been using inswinging crosses using Inverted crossers) but this season it's been entirely different.

I noticed that we've changed pattern this season. We're more playing it at the near post and hoping that our players slug it out with our opponents in the near post which is the dangerous zone hoping that if we win the ball it'll have a high chance of ending at the back of the net (hypothetically 90% of the time).

While I understand the logic but it's certainly not working at all. We had 25+ corners across the four matches and if I'm not mistaken, it took us until the last match(against Man u) before we could win our first ball header through a cross.

Simply put, all the crosses have failed to beat the first man(or opposition players) probably because our players are too slow or not positioned in strategic place to win the first ball headers. Also, most of the crosses have been poor as it isn't accurately delivered height-wise.
We had to change back to our default corner tactics before we could start winning headers and consequently got the second goal through Declan Rice.

While I understand we need to get different tactics with corners, I feel we shouldn't do away with what was seriously working for us so far.

Sometimes mixing the two won't be bad, but my opinion should be that this new corner tactics should be our Option B and not A

Kai will always get a call up na. Just like Nacho(super eagles). That doesn't take away his woeful performance in the last two games.

You noticed the corner routines too? Wow.... I think the recent absence of Gabi is why we have not looked dangerous during CKs so far this season. Moreso, the kickers need to up their kicks too. Another aspect I want us to work on is the outside shots especially curlers. Martinelli is the main culprit here... While Saka has been effective, Martinelli has been poor.

I think the reasons why we adopted that Corner routine was due to the tall aerial-good guys we have and we were looking to harness. Aside Gabriel, we have Saliba, Partey, Rice, White and Havertz.
The guys are tall and good aerially but for some reasons we just couldn't win those corners. I just hope the these players get this tactics right cos it seems like a good tactics.

That outside curler shot/Shots is really what I want this team to improve on especially our front three. Saka seems to be the only one effective on it. If Martinelli and Jesus/Nketiah can add that to their arsenal, we'll be more deadly than last season

Go and watch the replay again. The through pass to Rashford already place him at a disadvantage . All he can do at that point was to stay close to Rashford and block his view of goal as much as he can( which was what he did )

Rather than blame white for the goal , it’s Rashford’s ingenuity one should commend for not trying to dribble and take the left hand side which white left open so as to make it difficult for him to shoot at the near post .

Our own Havertz in Rashaford’s position would’ve messed up the chance.
