Hasnt it dawned on you that people dont care what you say because it is childish? To say it is also hypocritical is an understatement. It is just plain childish not worthy of any decent answer.

1. This is the law and constitution of LAGOS STATE.

You are the ignorant one buddy. The constitution requires states to pay stipends to the royal family and not buying them N6m cars. So Fashola can order private jets for them because the constitution requires them to be taken care of?. You think they don't need private jest too?

“You are therefore expected to use your influence and education to sell government policies and programmes to your people and encourage them to cooperate with government, and thereby support its policies,” he said.
In his words after handing the cars to them. You are expected to sell government policies no matter how unpopular to your communities. In other words, any non-ACN policy must be uprooted by hook or crook otherwise we shall repossess our camry. Part of the unspoken contract in the deal is to hide their faces and help foster any form of political rigging by Tinubu and his ACN bandits which includes YOU.

As usual, your low self esteem is apparent when it comes to Igbos. Why you cannot express yourself confidently and defend what you believe in[if you actually have one] without roping the Igbo in your comments beats me. How did the Igbo enter this conversation now when many critics here are not even Igbos?.

So you justify the act of using tax payers money to bribe monarchs because governor Chime did it?. So if Fashola is caught stealing state's funds, you will justify it by posting Nnamani or Peter odili doing the same?. I thought Fashola sets the pace?. Since when did he start learning governance and political practices from Chime?. Nigeria na real yaga yaga citizens dem get o.

What are the limits in the constitution?. A N6M car is a bit too much for a traditional ruler in a country where more than 60% live on less than $1 a day. Should we also buy them private jets because there is a space in the constitution to cater for them?. Who is the actual dolt here? The person who sheepishly follow a party or AloyEmeka who will rather use her head than follow the crowd?. Keep worshiping your teflon don.

1. This is the law and constitution of LAGOS STATE.

Lagosians asked the Government to take care of traditional rulers, buy them cars and provide them with police security and this has been going on since day one.

2. This is the responsibility of all the governments in our 36 states.

3. Get a Nigerian civic education book and read to alleviate your ignorance.

You are right.

The responsibilities are for all state governments.

Mogbe, so Tinubu and Fashola wrote their laws and comstitution in Delta too? They are very very powerful indeed.

Seriously, why do we have to keep lecturing these illiterates about their own country? Common civic education they don't, How do you even argue intelligently without knowing they basics?

Can someone explain who the "Oba of Ketu" is and what his connection to Lagos is? If that is really referring to the Alaketu, then I think the article is either inaccurate, or somebody in the Lagos state government made a huge mistake. Ketu is not in Nigeria.

I know I am late in responding but there definitely is a Ketu --- It is not near the city but towards Ikorodu end of Lagos. grin grin grin grin I would know, I spent more than 80% of my life growing up in this area.

It doesn't matter which costs more because both deals are wrong besides, 6 cars may worth more than 463 cars. Its like justifying a thief who stole N5k in Lagos because another thief stole N100k in Enugu.

Thanks for posting this, very helpful although we still like to know what it says about Lagos. Besides, this says "Stipends" NOT random gift, there are differences between the both. Anyway, I'm not criticizing who is right or wrong, just like it's often said, if you're point a finger at someone, there's three others pointing back at you.

@the critics

HOW IS THIS CORRUPTION OR BRIBERY??

He is bribing them for what?? Elections? What exactly??

Corruption? How? That a state government is taking care of her traditional rulers?? I don't get it. What is wrong with this move?!

This is the Lagos of the future and it will happen soon. Mark my words:

The Non-indegines will begin to feel the pinch and will begin to come together. Eventually, a leader will rise that they will all support and then the Yorubas will loose control of the state and will never gain that control backk because they are in minority. All the major places in Lagos are dominated by non-indegines. Surulere, Festac, Ikeja, Name it.

Dont forget you heard it here first!

O'boy, if you have a hard time living with the locals in peace in Lagos state, please, kindly fuc.k off to your state (wherever it may be). Abi, dem force you enter this state

It is because of useless citizens like you, we have Jos, Delta in the early 2000's and Southern Kaduna. If you hate the locals, please and please, kindly take your PRIMITIVE VILLAGE MENTALITY to wherever you come from. Lagosians are ONE whether Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa! Same applies for Delta and other multi-ethnic cities.

You may figure it out if you can use 25% of your brain matters to reason. Let me give you hints:

Fasholas political career will not end in 2015
ACN may need to solidify their ground in Lagos state
The teflon don needs to hold the constituents tight if he intends to exercise further control over them.
If you refuse to show gratitude for what someone did for you, they will get back at you the next time.
Now use the hints above and build theories.
Re: Lagos Monarchs Get N46m Car Gift From Fashola by manny4life(m): 5:42pm On Dec 08, 2011
What is wrong is that it was tagged as "gift" as opposed to official vehicles to be used in "discharging their duties" pertaining to state residents whom they govern.

Did I insult you?

What ground are they solidifying?? Do you think you are talking to a novice? Solidify ground? In Lagos?? If you had said other states, I might agree but Lagos?? You are joking!

What gratitude?? Some of the so called Obas were put there by ACN themselves (eg elegusi), so what gratitude are you talking about?

Thirdly, since when did Obas start controlling the vote pattern in Lagos? C'mon, get outta here!
