I don't think we do much of starters and desserts in our regular meals. However in Igbo parties, I think the starters may include garden-eggs served with groundnut paste a.k.a ose-oji, ugba (sliced oil-bean) garnished with enough anu Kanda, to be escorted down with kegs of tombo liquor. This is prior to the main food being served- mainly akpu, garri, pounded yam or semo and soups. What follows next, Ermmm, I think it may be extra fried meats. I think Nkwobi and Isi-ewu qualify as desserts. Sweets or ice-cream is foreign. 1 Like |
