Writing off the Lakers in Dec? Once upon a time in 2002, the Lakers stimbled out of the gate and wenf on to win it all. I say wait till after the all stars games, then....
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 5:15am On Dec 12, 2012
In spite of the setbacks witnessed this season, I still remain a Lakers fan forever.

Are the Knicks for real? Sitting atop the East, yet to lose at home and Jason kiddd discovers the fountain of yourh. What a story!

Amare coming back is not the main issue but with nut heads like JR Smith & Rasheed this team can still implode. We'll see. Gotham cIty is on a high right now but....

Mike Woodson won't let that team implode! The key for me is integrating Amare and how it would affect playing time of a defensive specialist like Ronnie Brewer and also Tyson Chandler who is shooting like 70% from the field.
As far as I'm concerned these guys have all the tools to challenge the Heat

Double overtime for a home victory against a stubborn O.J Mayo and the Mavs, thank God for the turnovers by the Mavs, Without K.G our defense is just whack, he must be dead drained after this game, am so not buying this new idea of leaving last second clutch shots to Rando, keep it with Pierce, he showed why he's the TRUTH.

Needed overtime to beat a Dirkless Dallas team? Why are the Celtics struggling this year? I look at the their roster and I'm thinking this team is good. So far I'm disappointed. Can't believe K.G. and Pierce are running out of gas. Yes, they lost Allen but they replaced him with a solid shooter (Jet) and better defender (Courtney Lee). They even have the Brazilian blur.

very puzzling team

Bro, i was confident coming into this season, with the acquisition of a Lee, Barbosa, Terry, Rookie Sulinger and returning green, but after 5 games i knew we would struggle all through the season and the reason is "rebounding (Offensive and defensive) and also rotation and weak side defense", we have been out-rebounded by every team we have played with thus far, K.G is the only player that keeps that defense tight, whenever he goes to the bench for a rest, the team collapses and you can't replace K.G as far as am concerned.

C.Lee is struggling to define himself in this team, i wish he would stick to being aggressive, especially going to the rim, rather than wait for the three's, he's a good defender but we miss A. Bradley soooooo much, Defending without fouling is something rookie Sulinger still has to learn, he accumulates too much foul, J. Terry i believe would blend very well next season, he's maturity on the court is something i love soo much, Green is coming on, albeit slowly, but who can question him, he had a heart surgery last year, that Kid has got mind.
Barbosa loves to go to the rim, thats his style, but so far his play time has been restricted.

Hey!!! K.G is 36, 17 years in the league, Healthier/ more active than his many of his peers considering the likes of Wade, Paul Peirce is 35, 14 years in the League also healthier and more active than his peers, they would definitely slow down, but am very impressed with both of them.

All in all, no one expects this team to challenge, but that's what they said last year and we made it to the conference finals, some might be quick to remind me of the Knicks, but i would leave that to the post season.

I hear you bro. I just think the window is almost closed for this team to win it all. Talking of missed opportunities: Losing Perks in 2010 finals or stinking up the joint in last year's game 6 with the Heat?

I love the C's too and pains me that K.G. & Pierce may not win a 2nd ring. No one else on that team possess the leadership & tenacity these 2 guys bring every night. Rondo? Nope

I agree with you on Rando, he's definitely not mature enough to take up Leadership roles with the Celtics and that is one big reason Doc Rivers impressed on Danny Ainge to resign K.G, so Rando can spend more time with him, but its apparent Rando has to do more if he's to convince the fans he's capable of stepping up, on and off the court as a leader.

This season is the last run for K.G i think, but his commitment is unquestionable and unrivaled, his signing changed the face of the Franchise, it brought a new era with the Celtics, i agree we lost by trading K. Perkins in 2010, i personally felt it was worse than loosing R. Allen, we would have been patient with his injury, but the future is bright for this team, if we can get a rebounding center, which has become very rare in the league.

Lol that 2nd ring is all but gone. Unless LeBron tears an ACL and Bosh does likewise then that also has to happen to the best two players of any team they get from the West grin grin
I think Rondo brings more tenacity than Pierce tho.
Tough as nails that ninja! Maybe not as vocal as KG but the hits he takes

Homecoming of some sorts for D'Antoni tonight hopefully it doesn't end in disaster grin grin

And someone really needs to give that Cousins kid a hug

Mark Jackson's Warriors are quietly but surely grabbing attention with a 15-7 record, David Lee to me is the most underrated Center in the league, that dude from his days with the Knicks has never gotten the credit he duly deserves.
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 2:46am On Dec 14, 2012
41 points already in the 1st quarter, WTF!!!!!! where the heck is the defense, this is getting out of hand, am watching the game and am like is this summer league or the NBA.. Lakers can forget the playoff's angry angry angryKobe has infact stopped passing the ball.

I miss that ninja on commentary 'Momma there goes that man' all the more impressive when you realize that Andrew Bogut has been out for a while now

I don't think D'Antoni would last till all-star weekend. Look at the Knicks under Woodson and compare with D'Antoni and you begin to wonder how badly has this guy regressed

By all accounts D'Antonii has been worse than Brown tho. His only excuse is the absence of Nash and Gasol and I feel his pain to an extent! Chris Duhon should not be starting at PG on any team in this league. Why don't they get Jose Calderon?

Calderon is worse. Dude can't play defense that's why he's coming off the bench for the lowly Raptors

You don't expect Calderon to start ahead of Kyle Lowry. Plus any PG is better than Chris Duhon grin grin
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 11:56pm On Dec 15, 2012
Head to head, i would pick Calderon ahead of Duhon any day, he's more aggressive, a better ball handler, a better passer although his defense is erratic, he compensates that with his offense.
Re: The NBA Begins by ektbear: 11:57pm On Dec 15, 2012
Calderon's defense is atrocious. He also is not an aggressive, penetrating point guard. He is afraid of driving.

I beg to disagree with the bolded, when i say aggressive i mean going to the bucket and not physically, i sometimes wonder if his bones are complete cos he looks fragile, but when it comes to penetrating he does a better job than Duhon.
