Did Senator Ita Giwa toss you aside for not being up to the task in shining her down below  cheesy. Your gripe about her runs very deep  shocked .

Senator Ita Giwa and Senator Ita Enang are two different entities, please always refrain from making erroneous statements confidently

You mentioned hitting the families members of this senators to register our bitterness and anger, now that is so absurd

Some people here might just be losing their parents, Uncles and friends to the hit squad of the masses

Why attack children and family members for sins committed by another, is that the way Justice is meant to be carried out.

Maybe the mob squad should start in Lagos, hitting all the family members of people in charge then we head to Abuja to do same, afterall charity begins at home

Anger na bad thing  cool

Anyone with a discerning brain should reap that "report" reproduced by Gbawe on comment 22 above and you will clearly see the "enemies of Nigerians" who dont want the Bill passed!

From Senate President, David Mark who keeps telling us that "there are 4 to 5versions in circulation"? Cant david Mark, at his age, come to the "childish conclusion" that if a "Committee" is given a job to draft a Bill, "the AUTHENTIC VERSION IS THAT ONE THAT IS SUBMITTED BY THE SAME COMMITTEE"? But he rather chose to be playing games to stall the passage!

Again, lookt at House Rules Senator, Ita Giwa (Enang), (the same Pros.ti.tute that Dele Giwa married who, instead of giving him children, collected money from her millitary boyfriends, to plant bomb on her estranged husband), telling us that because the bill was presented in the Sixth Session and the 4yrs of that house has lapsed, the Every Pending Bill is DEAD! That LovePeddler must be smoking ganja as well! What about continuity in govt?

So if i took those dofus in govt 4yrs to do a job that should not take more than six months, Madam Bakassi says we must start all over again, and who says the same thing will not repeat itself?

And the "third leg" of these trio of saboteurs ia the Minister for Petroleum, Yes, the same Allison Madueke!
Hear her: 'a new bill would be sent to the Senate to ensure that the right version gets to the lawmakers. She also asked for a ‘secret meeting’ with members of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream) on the controversial oil industry reform bill during a meeting with the Committee in Abuja"!.

You see, she wants to retain that part that gives her the absolute right to award and withdraw Oil Blocks to and from whomever she wishes (be it her brother, her children or her boyfriends) and that is why she keeps throwing spanners into the works of the committee.
Everything about that woman is criminal. Only Criminals prefer to run the nation in secrecy!

So, between David Mark, Ita Giwa-Enang and Allisson Madueke (Petroleum Minister, with the urging of her boyfriend is Aso Rock!), we have three saboteurs that are holding the country to ransom.

Until NIGERIANS LEARN HOW TO DEAL "CRITICALLY AND FATALLY" WITH THESE TYPE OF CRIMINALS, OUR NATION WILL CONTINUE TO BE A LAUGHING STOCK INTERNATIONALLY!
If you cant lay your hands on them, at least you know where their "vital interests" are? (Children, family members, properties, e.t.c).
Hit them where it hurts, like they are doing to us.

Obviously angry!

Thank you my brother !!! Rather than note the real enemies of Nigeria , because it is obvious who they are, some let sentiments lead them into attacking others. The truth, and I warned about this, is that the oil Marketers are now in a vengeful mode because of the perception that their corrupt allies in politics have thrown them to the Nigerian lynch mob and transferred hatred in their direction alone for something they all benefitted from. It has long been touted that Ekweremadu , who ungraciously called PIB protestors "charlatans", and Mark recieved millions from MOC's (Major oil company) to prevent the passage of the PIB or ensure it arrives in a watered-down form. People should keep watching. I warned about what the Government sought to do with a blanket removal of fuel subsidy ala get out of jail free card for everyone while pointing at some "cabal" to sate the apetite of Nigerians for chasing bogeymen. Why should any ACN Politician get involved with that?

Do we think revelations about Adoke Bello's looting and involvement with those benefitting from fuel subsidy just appeared in the public domain out of thin air? Why should anyone from the ACN, with insider knowledge, involve themself with a simmering situation that will expose the charade and fraud perpetrated by no other than those pretending to be solving our problems? Let people keep up the ethnic jingoism. It becomes clear everyday, for those genuinely interested in the progress of Nigeria, who our real enemies of progress are. Nothing at all to do with ethnicity.

It's amazing that the comments after the article posted by Gbawe do not tow the same line. It's very clear most people did not even bother to read it. I implore everyone to read the articles and stop making uninformed conclusions.

In light of the shenanigans revealed in the article, it is clear to see why any morally-upright Nigerian will decline to be a part of any committee instituted by the corruption-infested ring and therefore Shuaib's stance on this is The Truth.

My brother, it is not Rocket Science. Not one more committee is required if a Government with , by far, majority control of the most influential offices in the land genuinely wants the PIB passed. All these post-protest Mr. Nigeria, with their nouveau patriotism, can keep making noise. It is not today some of us have been exposing the fraud behind the non passage of the PIB folks did not show an interest in back then only to now talk ignorantly. What happened , for example, to the N7 billion allocated in the 2010 budget for passage of the PIB as I wondered below to little interest from the forumers now making fake patriotism noise today?

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-617677.0.html

The House of Representatives on Thursday queried the N481m the Ministry of Petroleum Resources claimed to have spent to prepare the ground for the yet-to-be passed Petroleum Industry Bill.

Its Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) heard on Thursday that, of the N740m the ministry earmarked for preliminary activities, it had already spent N481m, though the bill had not been passed by the National Assembly.

In the 2010 budget, the ministry had budgeted N10bn for the implementation of the PIB, but the National Assembly slashed it to N7bn.

Out of the figure, the ministry took out N740m for what it called preliminary activities and has so far spent N481m from it.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Goni Musa, who appeared before the committee, claimed that the money was spent on activities bearing on existing regulations in the oil and gas industry.

He said, “The process commenced some months ago. For instance, we are carrying out many activities, including the review of the current petroleum regulations in order to align them with international best practices.
“We are also developing new regulations to cover the down stream sub-sector. The law itself will throw out many regulations. So we don’t want to wait until the law is passed before developing regulations.”

But his disclosure alarmed members of the committee, who described the expenditure as “extravagant.”
The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Clever Ikisikpo, said he could not comprehend the essence of the “huge” expenditure when the bill had not been passed.
He said it would appear that the ministry took advantage of the fact that Nigerians were keenly waiting for the passage of the PIB, to embark on “frivolous expenditure.”
Ikisikpo added, “People will begin to ask questions. The tenure of this current assembly is coming to an end.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has said it is set to invoke the penalties prescribed in the Nigerian Content Act against oil and gas companies, not complying with the provisions of the Act.
Speaking during a working visit to Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited and Chevron Nigeria Limited’s headquarters in Lagos on Monday, the Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Mr. Ernest Nwapa said that the board would be unwavering in enforcing compliance.

He said, “We need to demonstrate to bidders and service providers that when you do not comply with provisions of the Act, you lose out from tenders.”
According to a statement issued by the agency, Nwapa also canvassed for a change of mindset by Nigerians holding executive and management positions in the operating companies to balance loyalty to their employers national objectives when advising the companies and taking key operational decisions.
He further asked the international oil companies to provide the board with concrete strategies they had adopted to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Act and meet the targets set by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, for the industry.
He regretted that the preference for importing almost all the goods and services used by the industry from abroad was steadily eliminating opportunities to develop human and infrastructural capacity consequently impoverishing our people and stultifying national economic development.

Analysis: Why Allison-Madueke Must Be Investigated Alongside NNPC, PPPRA-Premium Times

A Benin City-based civil society group, Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) stated the obvious when it faulted the role Mrs, Alison-Madueke has assumed in the probes, describing it as absurd and a charade to fool Nigerians.

"I find this absurd and cannot understand what is happening in this country anymore,” ANEEJ Executive Director, David Ugolor, said in a statement. “It is an irony that the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, whose ministry is accused of corruption is the same person setting up the probe into her ministry. What will come out of such a probe?”

Mr. Ugolor continued, “The Minister is trying to be a judge in her own case. Nigerians cannot be fooled by this charade. It is in her interest for her to step aside for an independent body to look into the books she supervised. Our view is against the backdrop of allegations by the National Assembly that the Petroleum Ministry paid out more billions of Naira on PMS subsidy than was approved for it in the 2011 budget.”

Indeed, very serious corruption allegations have swirled around the minister in the past year, which appear to have strengthened argument by some Nigerians that she lacked the moral fibre to superintend over any probe of the oil and gas sector.

Last year, NEXT, one of Nigeria’s most respected newspapers, ran a series of investigative reports that linked the minister herself to monumental corruption. The government is yet to act on those allegations. In one of those reports, titled “Oil minister, her jeweller and their sweetheart deal”, the Minister was said to have discretionally licensed one Christopher Aire, a 47-year-old United States-based Nigerian celebrity jewellery designer and merchant, to be lifting crude oil.

Mr Aire’s company, Solid 21 Incorporated, which dealt strictly in jewellery and wristwatches, did not meet any of the criteria spelt out in the guidelines for prospective crude oil lifters. But, between July 9 and July, 2010, he incorporated two companies, Siseno Oil Nigeria Limited, as well as Caligeria Oil Limited. Both companies were to undertake the businesses of petroleum products sales and distribution.

A month after the no-address companies were incorporated, the minister reportedly directed the Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD), the NNPC division in charge of crude oil marketing, to approve crude oil lifting contracts to them to lift 60,000 barrels of crude per day. That was done in clear violation of laid down guidelines requiring companies interested in lifting Nigerian crude to be bona fide end users, with established reputation as large volume traders with global network for at least three years.

In another report also published by NEXT, and entitled “Oil minister in N2.2b bribery scandal”, the minister’s name was mentioned in an elaborate scam which forced marketers to pay huge bribes in exchange for petroleum products import license by the PPPRA. There was also the allegation that she unilaterally assigned prospecting rights in some state-owned lucrative blocks to some briefcase companies without open and competitive bidding.

Irked by these allegations, for which government failed to act, a Lagos-based lawyer, Bartholomew Aguegbodo, sued the minister at a Federal High Court in Lagos. See Lawyer sues Allison-Madueke and “Last minute oil deals that cost Nigeria dear”.

Yet, there are several other allegations for which the minister has to answer questions. So, it appears bizarre that as tainted as she is by these allegations, the government has asked her to lead the effort to clean up the NNPC in particular, and the industry in general.

If government wants to be taken seriously in its bid to enthrone corruption in the industry, it must first probe Mrs. Alison-Madueke herself. It is only when she is found to be clean that she should be allowed to lead the reform of a sector fraught with monumental corruption.

Your comments absolutely represents the above, when do we stop playing petty politics with a bill such as this . . .Guess , it's fair playing the blame card while you shy away from the opportunity of bringing the much needed reforms you desire and pontificate upon . . . Tell me where is the sincerity on the part of the opposition to be that needed balance in stirring the affairs of the country right . . .

A lame attempt of defense, if you are to be a vehicle of change . . .The FOI bill we all celebrated was credited to have been championed majorly by honourable Abike Dabiri, i can imagine your likes criticizing the act of cowardice and sabotage, if the non ACN party refused to partake in committees set up to fast track  the passage of such important bill  ,  .

The PIB bill has been in the NASS since ages and it has being systematically delayed . . . recent claims also suggest that the current PIB bill is a watered down version of the original bill that had robust reforms measures . . . .

To fast track such bill, why not create a group of experts to fine tune the details of that bill with experts from various parties and interest group to add or minus parts seen to be in the best interest of Nigeria . .also giving it the much needed transparency . . . But when you decline, and people like you try to play cheap politics with it . .it is a sign that the passage of the bill is not of importance to you or the party you stand for . . .  and that is not a good taste . . .

I used to hold the notion that the open confrontation of the Northern NASS members held it down, but am beginning to get convinced that the PIB is where it is today because the corrupt NASS with the ACN involved don't want to see it passed . . .

It's easier talking about a bloated government while they keep mute about their own bloated allowances and salaries in the name of statutory allocation of how much . . . A whopping N150 billion . . .

Can we for once maintain an open minded view to issues  embarassed

My brother, there really is no wriggle room to argue against the decision of this man and I will prove it easily.

President =                              PDP
Vice President =                        PDP
Senate President =                    PDP
Deputy Senate President =          PDP
Speaker House of Rep =              PDP
Deputy speaker House of Rep =    PDP

PDP senatorial majority = around 71 out of 109 (was 87 out of 109 previously before April) i.e 65% majority.
PDP rep majority = 202 out of 360 i.e 56% Majority

Total executive and legislative muscle to lobby and bully things through with relative ease. Very obvious , for those working with facts instead of emotions, that no one can stand in the way , except the PDP itself, if the ruling PArty is genuinely interested in passing the PIB.

Several committees (those "trying" to secure passage of the bill and those probing them ) have squandered money pretending they are all working to deliver the PIB. Indeed N7 billion was allocated for the passage of the PIB in the 2010 budget shocked shocked with the bill still remaining in limbo today.

Putting all the above together, who is then foolish or sentimental enough not to understand why this ACN Politician does not want to get involved with this blatant charade of insincerity that will only soil him and his Party? PDP is its own biggest enemy and everyone , even
non-Nigerians, know this.

American official says PDP is not a party

Nicholas Ibekwe

The United States does not consider the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party a political party, a US diplomatic cable leaked to the whistleblowing site, Wikileaks, and made exclusively available to NEXT has shown.

Charge d’ affaires of the US embassy in Nigeria, Lisa Piascik, in a dispatch dated October 19, 2007, informed Washington that despite its labelling as a political party, the PDP did not meet “the common western understanding” of a political party.

According to Ms. Piascik, the PDP “lacks key ingredients most political parties share”.

After taking a swipe at the party’s mission statement, the American diplomat proceeded to deliver what is probably the most scathing analysis yet of the PDP.

“The PDP remains an agglomeration of interest groups formed around persons of prominence and power which are loosely tied together by a desire to remain in office and maintain access to the “national cake” or resources of the state”, Ms. Piascik declared.

“The PDP remains a highly fractious and opportunistic coalition of interests. True opposition, in the form of a powerful group with access to the pillars of power, comes from within the PDP - not from without as would be expected in a democratic party structure.”

She added that the party, which claims to be the biggest political platform in Africa, has no “ideological consensus” whatsoever and had remained divided from the start.

In a comment attached to the cable, the American diplomat said, “The PDP remains a highly fractious and opportunistic coalition of interests. True opposition, in the form of a powerful group with access to the pillars of power, comes from within the PDP - not from without as would be expected in a democratic party structure.”

However, the leadership of the PDP yesterday faulted Ms. Piascik’s analysis, saying she had no right to deliver such a verdict on the party.

The party’s spokesperson, Rufai Alkali, said “the People’s Democratic Party is governed by its constitution and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

“We are an organisation, recognised and registered by the Independent Electoral Commission,” Mr. Rufai said. “It is only its membership and leadership of the party and the law governing its operation that can determine it status. It is strange for any organisation outside the shores of the country that is not part of the operation of the party to give it any other name outside of what is known by the party”.

Mr. Alkali therefore urged his party’s supporters to “disregard any information that is likely to undermine the credibility of our great party”.

Interest groups in the PDP

In her breakdown of the configuration of the PDP, Ms. Piascik described the party as a network of pockets of interest groups largely centred around former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his successor, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

She also pointed out that the PDP is a party divided within itself with different interest groups jostling for prominence. According to her, the biggest threat to the PDP is within the party itself rather than from the opposition.

“When viewing and interpreting developments such as the scandals surrounding House Speaker Patricia Etteh and Senate President David Mark or the intrigues surrounding investigation of former PDP governors, it is important to remember that the largest opposition to the PDP continues to come from within the party, not without”.

Ms. Piascik identified the contending forces in the PDP as the conservatives, the progressives, the Abacha appointees/supporters, the retired generals, the Obasanjo Network, the Yar’Adua network and the Immediate past governors Network”.

The conservatives and the progressives

More from the progressive ACN

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-720864.0.html

One week after a federal government delegation made a visit to assess the impact of the July 10, 2011 flood disaster in Lagos, a 16-man Senate delegation, also yesterday, landed in Lagos, at an estimated N4 million cost to tax payers.

The 16-man senate delegation’s air fare is put at over N1.3 million and hotel accommodation not less than N800, 000 per day  shocked shocked shocked , for a visit most analysts and critics dismiss as sheer waste of resources.

Nigerians reacting, describe the visit as one too many by Abuja, without definite action to relieve victims of the flood and put paid to the suffering of motorists and commuters on deadly federal roads in the former federal capital territory. They also question what has been done with the N9.2 billion which the former minister of Works, Mohammed Dagash, was quoted to have said has been released to carry out routine maintenance works on the Apapa-Oshodi road.

Dagash had in May this year told reporters that the contract for the road was awarded to construction giant, Julius Berger Plc in November 2010 at a cost of N6.2 billion.

The road which has been described as one of the biggest ‘shame’ of the nation, is barely passable when it trains and has cost port users at the nation’s biggest sea ports, Apapa and Tin Can Island ports several billions of naira.

The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in the last two years says it has spent over N500 million to engage road repair contractors to fill up the gullies that frequently appear on the road. The failure of the road, shortly after repairs, raised frequent insinuations of fraud and deception on the award of the contract, the quality of the work and capacity of the contractors. Interestingly, both the Federal Ministry of Works and the Federal Government never responded proactively.

Analysts say the shoddy job done by the contractors underlies the shady process that led to the award of the contracts.

Speaking in an interview with BusinessDay, yesterday, Joe Igbokwe, publicity secretary, Lagos State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), said, “What Nigerians expect is concrete action that will bring an end to their agonising experience on most federal roads in Lagos and other parts of the country.

“Hundreds of visits without action amounts to nothing. Nigerians are suffering; Lagosians are going through harrowing experience on federal roads in Lagos. Any positive action taken in respect of Lagos is in the interest of the nation. Lagos is the melting pot of Nigeria’s economy. The Apapa-Oshodi Expressway for example leads to the biggest and most patronised ports in Nigeria with quantum contributions to the nation’s economy. Therefore, help extended to Lagos is help extended to the entire country,” Igbokwe said.

Itse Sagay, a law professor, who also spoke with BusinessDay, lamented what he described as the neglect of federal roads across the country. He stated as a matter of finality that the “Federal Government has failed in its responsibilities, especially in terms of road maintenance.”

Meanwhile, shocked by the level of deterioration of some of the areas visited, particularly the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, the visiting senate delegation assured that the Senate will put pressure on the Federal Government to release funds to tackle ecological problems in the former capital city.

The delegation led by former governor of Benue State, George Akume, was in Lagos to have a first-hand assessment of the environmental challenges faced by the state, and which in recent times, have been made worse by torrential rains and devastating floods.

“I can assure you that this delegation is non partisan. We are going to make our impartial reports based on what we have seen. We will put pressure on the Federal Government to do something urgently because what we have seen here is a threat to lives and properties in Lagos,” Akume told reporters, adding that Lagos deserves special attention from the Federal Government.

The senators, after inspecting the failed Iyana Itire and Second Rainbow sections of the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, could, however, not proceed further to Trinity Bus Stop which has completely collapsed, as petroleum tankers lined the entire stretch of the road, with resultant traffic jams, which forced the delegation to beat a retreat at Berger.

The senators wondered aloud if it was the same road that leads to both Apapa and Tin Can Island Ports from where the Federal Government rakes in billions of naira annually.

This query was greeted by a spontaneous chorus of ‘yes’ response by Oluremi Tinubu, Gbenga Ashafa and Ganiyu Solomon, the three senators representing Lagos in the Senate, who were part of the delegation.

Akume, speaking further, said the delegation in its report to the Senate leadership, would emphasise the need to accord Lagos a special status.

I'm not sure why Gbawe and co are wasting there time with these masquerading bigots, who are so confused with hate and cowardice that they can't even put up a believable argument as to why the actions of this one single man or ACN as a whole, should affect the safe delivery of the deformed bastard that PDP now want to present to this nation.

These cowards have chosen not to even reflect on my Bola Ige comparison and hush the F up as any other decent human being would when faced with such an embarrassinly heartbreaking reminder of what dining with this devilish PDP government can lead to- allegedly slain by a drug baron!! A whole Ige!!! God knows . . .

Eejjiot

Devilish PDP government, but a retarrded pig shiet like you did not bother to think about the atrocious ACN criminal gang activities in Lagos  cool

The drug baron in THIFNUBU killed Engr Williams in Lagos.

The Fraud In ACN
On October 22, 2006? I was at a meeting of the Alliance for democracy, (AD) in Washington DC. Chief Akande was present and he put forward his retrogressive reasons for the type of 419 abracadabra they just pulled in Nigeria. He dismissed party primaries with a wave of the hand.

It was then I noticed the monster of dictatorship in this old man. His argument was based on a close knowledge of those whom they hand pick not to betray the party. My question to him that day was a simple explanation for the conduct and defection of most of their selected and trusted people from the AD to the PDP. Patricia Etteh, Senators Seye Ogunlewe, Wahab Dosumu and Musiliu Obanikoro were all hand picked by the omniscient party leaders, yet they defected to join the ruling party. Baba Akande had no answer for my simple question. I guess he was caught flat footed.

One would have thought these so called party elders who stridently condemn the excesses of the PDP learnt anything from their disastrous outing in 2003. We now know otherwise. There is no excuse, absolutely no justification for the disgraceful political cherry picking of candidates for 2011lections by the ACN. It is more grating that baba Akande told    party members and all lovers of democracy to go to hell if they were not comfortable with his idea of British parliamentary system. I wonder which Britain the old man was talking about. At the risk of sounding trite I think Baba Akande should seriously consider a full retirement from the affairs of the Action Congress of Nigeria. The old age syndrome is beginning to manifest itself.

Now, it is pertinent to ask the leadership of the ACN, these 419 leaders if a tree makes a forest If they spear headed the growth of the party, is that a reason to jettison the wishes and interest of the majority who constitute the follower ship? In that case Akande’s testosterone infused outburst was childish, puerile, illogical and a complete negation of the tenets of democracy which they have mouthed all along. I have maintained to my friends that Bola Tinubu, Baba Akande and the so called leadership of the ACN are different sides of the same coin with the PDP. I guess we have been vindicated

If Baba’s defense of the theft of the will of the people was his contribution to the struggle for democracy in Nigeria, I wonder what he has to say about the martyrdom of Kudi Abiola whose son; Jamiu was robbed of his victory in Abeokuta. We ought to note that the imposition of the children and family members on the ACN is just the tip of the iceberg. Look at Chief Osoba in Ogun state. He awarded his son, Olumide the ticket for the House of Representatives at the expense of those who have walked the talk for the party in Ogun state in the last eight years. This was a man who abandoned the party and members to the excesses and high handedness of the Gbenga Daniels. He was hiding out in his Bourdillon road home in Ikoyi, Lagos. Yet when he felt the time was ripe to ride the wave of anti PDP in the West, pronto he rigged the office for his son. Does a good shepherd abandon his flock? Chief Osoba returned to Ogun state to reap where he did not sow. yet, baba Akande does not see anything wrong in such immorality. Olumide Osoba reportedly became a  member of the party about 3 months ago. That was at the expense of jamiu Abiola and others who had endured the high handedness of Gbenga Daniel and the excesses of thePDP in the last 8 years!

Now, how about the greatest fraud of them all, Bola Tinubu. In Lagos state, he alone cornered 4 tickets for his immediate family members From his wife Oluremi Tinubu who got a ticket to go to the senate at the expense of seasoned politicians, to his daughter, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo who was awarded the ticket for the House of representatives, to his son in law, Oyetunde Ojo  who was awarded the ticket foe the state House of Assembly. What BAT wanted, BAT stole from Lagosians. He did not stop there; he removed the deputy governor for one of his own. Wonders will never end.

The question baba Akande should answer is this, whatever happened to section 5(ii) of the party’s constitution? It states …objective…is the attainment of political power through legitimate, democratic, and constitutional means for the purpose of cultivating an egalitarian society based on the principle of equality, freedom and social justice…” Article 6 (1) (a) of the party’s constitution, confers on members the right to contest election on the platform of the party without any discrimination whatsoever”. These people do not even believe in their own party’s constitution.

Baba Akande by his outburst has confirmed his political immaturity and naivety. It is even more painful that beneficiaries of the right to democracy such as Dr Fayemi and Mallam Aregbesola wasted no time to dump their supporters just to have a seat at the table. People died, traveled to court sessions on behalf of these two people, they risked life and limbs to confront the monster called PDP, yet they were abused as not contributing anything to the growth of the party by an obviously immature politician, one exhibiting the signs and symptoms of senior moments.

However, we the people will not roll over and die. Since they conned us into believing there was going to be primaries. They conned our candidates out of their hard earned money for forms and all other sundry expenses, we will show them the might of the majority. We will demystify Bola Tinubu and Baba Akande in Western Nigeria and in my home in the old Mid West. What these disenfranchised people need to do now is to INSTITUTE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE ACN, CITING SECTION 87 OF THE ELECTORAL ACT OF 2010. Go ahead and get an injunction against these fraudulent people and make the INEC disqualify them. It is better not to have candidates than to have these beneficiaries of 419 guerilla tactics. IT WILL TEACH THEM NOT TO TAKE US FOR GRANTED IN FUTURE.

We must give the Ikorodu 2011 treatment to Bola Tinubu. His excesses need to be curtailed now before he ruins Yoruba land. The argument that they do not want party fat cats from outside to buy up the seats in ACN is not tenable. There are provisions in the party's constitution which does not allow such people to contest such elections. Unfortunately, it has been jettisoned in the ACN while these same 419 leaders are smiling all the way to the bank from ill gotten bribes offered by emergency candidates. Therefore, this argument is an after thought and illogical. It is a reaction of people who were caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

We will vote for Fasola in April, but we must do everything humanly possible to defeat all the imposed candidates.  They were not made party leaders to betray us. They were not made party leaders to disenfranchise us. They were not made party leaders to impose their children on us for positions they are undeserving of. If they feel their families are that good, why not subject them to the primaries in a test of popularity
. . .  Spread the word all over Nigeria, the under listed candidates are beneficiaries of 419 election tactics and therefore must be defeated. No one should vote for them in the general elections in April. Just as you disgraced the ACN in the Ikorodu bye election, make sure your vote counts and reject these 419 candidates on that day They are not true representatives of our people. Let baba Akande and the others who did all the work for the party, who single handedly built the party without the contribution of the followership go and vote for them. These people must be defeated by all means and any means possible. In fact, besides Governor Fashola, all other ACN candidates must be rejected at the polls in April.  Do not sell your votes. Do not sell your conscience. These rascals are not better than you. Their fraudulent access to power and treasury is the only difference between us. We will show them.

OLUREMI TINUBU

FOLASADE TINUBU-OJO

OYETUNDE OJO

OLUMIDE OSOBA (CHIEF OLUSEGUN OSOBA’S SON)

DAPO ADESINA (LAM ADESINA’S SON)

These people are political neophytes. They are feather weight and their parents know so. However they want to give them the golden parachute at the expense of the rest of us. They want their children, wives and lovers to join the league of treasury looters in Abuja even while they condemn the PDP for sins of commission and omission. These people are even worse than the PDP. They are what we can describe as the 5 fingers of a leprous hand. Apologies to Chief Bola Ige
. If any one knows the names of the relatives of baba Akande who are reported to be listed for position in Osun state, please publish it so that we can move to prevent them from climbing on our backs These 419 candidates must be defeated by any means and all means possible. Finally, we need to apologize to the PDP for thinking they were the worst offenders. Indeed, the shoe fits on the other leg. Our own party is even worse than the PDP.

My brother, you are right. If you notice, I refrained from responding to "children" who only know how to throw tantrum while contributing zilch to discussion that brings the clarity we Nigerians , together, can all use to insist certain things are done to move Nigeria forward .

I challenge folks to spare us their display of childish sentiments to factually tackle , if they can, what I submitted earlier which shows, beyond any doubt, that the Government is totally in charge as per whether the PIB is passed or not. It will be obvious to sincere folks, even if they support GEJ, that this ACN politician has done the right thing by refusing to accept a 'poisoned chalice' from those who cause the problem and at the same time pretend to be the solution. Folks should tackle what is written below and stop disgracing the expensive education their Parents laboured hard to provide them with.

My brother, there really is no wriggle room to argue against the decision of this man and I will prove it easily.

President =                              PDP

Counter to a lazy tongue tied hypocrite

A rundown of the documents made available to ireports-ng.com reveal that Mr. Adoke is
a major investor in Oando Oil, a firm that gulped down more than N228 billion out of the
N1.4 trillion shared by about 100 oil marketers between January and August, 2011. The
website’s investigation indicated that the Justice Minister owns an investment of about
N1.5 billion in Oando Oil PLC.

Other documents also show that Mr. Adoke has a major investment stake in Eterna Oil
which raked in about N5.57 billion from the fuel subsidy bonanza. In addition to N1 billion investment in Eterna, the minister also has N2 billion tucked in a company called
Novasys Ltd.

A top-level political source in Abuja who is close to President Goodluck Jonathan told
SaharaReporters today that the attorney general’s cozy relationship with some of the oil
marketers was the reason the government has refused to pursue the option of prosecuting
fraudulent profiteers who have cheated Nigerians of hundreds of billions of naira in the
name of fuel subsidy.

The topic regards an opposition politician refusing to join, IMO, the charade of a ruling Party never , even minimally, prepared to do the right thing when it easily can. Why not comment on that?

This is what got Nigeria where it is so far i.e Nigerians , like children, not focusing on what matters , when it matters, only to be distracting themselves with individuals and personalities. Say what you will about Gbawe but please do me a favour and use the search function to note I have spoken non-stop about the deliberate hesitation of the PDP to pass the PIB many times, even as those thread got very little response from you and others. If, regardless of Party/ethnic affiliation, we had all spoken unitedly in favour of the passage of the PIB, perhaps the bill would exist today.

Yet Nairalands will show up in large number to join threads focusing on absolute nonsense. Give your opinion here and contribute to important topic in future also. That is what matters most at the end of the day , for the sake of your Country
, and not an attempt to highlight the flaws of other posters.

If 99% of folks here are tribalists, how does that stop you contributing ,in a mature manner, to issues of national importance like the passage of the PIB? How are you different to those so-called tribalists when, like them, you also concern yourself with what does not matter while ignoring what does in the context of what is best for your Nation?
