I can see improvement. The major problem is lack of continuity in first 11.

McNair is our best Central defender.

Carrick stabilized us at the back.

Valencia did fine but I don't know how manage he drifted in while Di Maria was in the wide. Di Maria should have done better in the lead to the goal.

Wilson did well too.

Why can't Rooney play every time and every day the way he did in the last 20 minutes? That was admirable piece of football from him. If only he shot instead of trying to round the last man or find RVP.

Smalling did't use common sense. How can you earn two yellow cards within 5 minutes? The game was somewhat in a balance until the red card. Januzaj and Fellaini left our defence exposed at 11 vs 11, otherwise it was a good game.

Rooney was playing in central midfield with Fellaini...Not even in the hole, but further back...just a little further up from Blind.
You cant really expect him to take the game by the scruff of the neck, while playing in an unfamiliar position.

Exactly. They are not influencing games for us. When you pass to them, they want to pass quickly again. Robben, Messi, Ronaldo don't quickly pass to team mate. Only Di Maria trying to influence games for us. I can see Rooney and RVP have the potentials to do far better but I don't why they are playing quietly and safe.

However, at 11 vs 11, Rooney gave Di Maria a through pass that was worth some great pounds.

Another thing is..... if only Fellaini could direct his header better. I think he should have buried a certain crossing for us.

I think it was a good performance by the lads. Smalling's f00lishness obviously swung the game in city's favour.

The worrisome aspect is that di Maria (who has been our driving force in attack) seems to have been infected by some kinda bad luck - dude has been piss-poor in the last two matches.
