Zidane has started. militao that we were heavily linked to has already signed for Real Madrid for around 50m.

If Ashley young is our starting right back next season? Smh.

We ain't getting Juve because we played already. Most likely going to be an EPL team.

Then City vs Barca

There is no more group protection.
We can be drawn against anyone in the group from quarter final and beyond.

Madrid already reinforcing their team.

But my own club? Absolute silence. Nothing on transfers. Nothing on the appointment of a DoF. Nothing on future plans.
Instead we are extending contracts of useless players.

at the moment yes
So you also mean that the season Leicester won the league, Leicester was the biggest club in England. Correct? Also for example, if perhaps next season Cardiff city goes above arsenal on the table for two weeks, you mean that Cardiff city is a bigger club than Arsenal for that two weeks and Arsenal will become bigger than Cardiff city again if Arsenal manages to go above Cardiff city on the table. Correct?

I hope Ed Woodward makes use of the brain in his head during the transfer window. Btw, Dalot might be used as an attacking Fullback instead of a RW actually, similar to what Luke Shaw does on the left flank. If he performs consistently, Young is definitely going to enjoy the bench.

We need a natural RW to stretch our attack and make it more dangerous and effective like Nani.

Me sef no know. One loss and we're as bad as Mourinho said. Or even worse. Last season this team finished 2nd; and there was an argument on here that the team's quality is on par with City's.

Rashford was a prodigy, and you can argue that he'd be as hot as Rooney was- given the right coach and environment. He scored 5 goals in his first 11 EPL games and he's scored against all the top 6 teams- City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham in his 3 years or so as a senior player playing from the wings.

We know what Pogba can do and Martial's talent is there to see.

Although this team isn't where we want them to be yet, the quality is still there. We shouldn't condemn them to hell because of one loss.

If the structure of the club isn't revamped, especially concerning new signings, OGS will find himself with a very hard task. A handful of the new signings we made post-Ferguson are of quality. A large percentage of them na hit and miss.

Lana1 no postponement. Just a potential reversal of fixtures

There is no seeding or country protection at this stage, but UEFA has announced that United will have to reverse their fixture if drawn at home in the same week as rivals City.

"Manchester City and Manchester United will not be able to play at home on the same night, nor on consecutive nights, following a decision made by the relevant local authorities," UEFA said.

"Therefore, should both clubs be drawn at home in the same week, the team having finished lower in the domestic league the previous season - in this case Manchester United - will be reversed in accordance with the UEFA Club Competitions Committee principles.

Torres had a severe injury and was already going downhill before his move to Chelsea. Besides, Chelsea was known to be a team whose style was centered around drogba's physique due to their love for making floating passes. We all know lampard was known for his goal scoring, not creativity. Most of lampard passes that led to goals were either crosses, simple passes whereas Liverpool had Gerard splitting passes which constantly released Torres at Liverpool.
You're repeating my point which is Torres was washed. You can argue about how Chelsea utilized him or not but it's clear to any objective person that Torres could not be saved by any playing style. Even when he had MAZACAR.

Torres did not even have the acceleration to beat his markers anymore and the few times he did lacked the confidence to simply finish. He was cooked. We had that debate ad nauseum on the Chelsea thread that year

KGD10:

Like I stated earlier, Morata's holdup playing style suits Atletico team than Costa. It's like you always fail to comprehend simple English. If Atletico wants to get the best out of Costa, he should be deployed in Griezman's position behind Morata like he was playing as a SS before his move to Chelsea. Or he should be deployed as the main striker without another forward like Griezman behind him.
What is this Dothraki you're chatting? Morata and hold up play in the same sentence? This is a bad joke. Since he got to Atletico how many goals has he scored due to his "hold up play"

Costa's breakout season (2013/2014) he was the target man with Adrian and Villa backing him from time to time.

I don't know if you're just addicted to excuses

KGD10:

Did you just say Saul isn't a DM? What are you? Are you 2 yrs old? That's why I said you should go learn more on football roles. Saul is a defensive box-box midfielder such like Ramirez, Khedira, Kante etc. Defensive midfield role can be either a defensive no 6 like we have Busquet, De Rossi, Declan Rice of Westham or a defensive box-box midfielder such as Kante, Khedira.
You seem to confuse your ability to type verbose megedefegede as an indicator of football knowledge

Saul is a CM and barring a defensive crisis no right thinking coach would move him to a defensive role. Same way Modric, Gerrard,

KGD10:

For an effective display coaches should always deploy a midfielder to complement whichever kind of defensive midfielder they employ in the midfield.

For example, Pirlo, a playmaking no 6 complemented a box-box defensive midfielder like Vidal. Busquet who is a defensive no 6 complemented Xavi, a box-box playmaker and so-on. While some coaches prefers to employ two playmakers who are defensively solid Like Ancelotti had Alonso, a playmaking no 6 to complement Modric, a playmaking no 8 in his midfield because if one was to be manmarked, the other would take over.

Stop typing Captain Obvious things mate.

KGD10:

You are really a neophyte when it comes to football roles. Position doesn't necessarily describe a player's role in a team. That was why I kept on hammering into you how Mathuidi was operating as a withdrawn midfielder on the wing for France at the world cup.
More Captain Obvious nonsense. If Lemar or Dembele had proven to be competent offensive weapons perhaps Deschamps does not resort to deploying Matuidi at that position.

KGD10:

Anyway, the problem with Atletico is the coach who tends to deploys two defensive midfielders in the team. Rodri is a defensive no 6 as well as Saul who is a defensive box-box midfielder. There's no creative midfielder to release the wingers on the wing like we had Pogba with Mbappe at the world cup. Or like Scholes did with Giggs, Valencia and Nani for us. Not only this, Atletico don't have a ball playing defenders to help advance play like Rio Ferdinand did for us.
Saul is not a DM same way a Schweinsteiger, Koke, Pogba, Scholes are not DM's. You're doing a tedious and annoying job of mistaking his defensive competence as proof that he's a DM. Unlike your acclaimed Lemar he is actually a true victim of his own versatility. That's why Simeone has him playing left back at times

Koke and Saul are capable of creativity but unfortunately they have no pace merchants to unleash at defenses.

KGD10:

The Atletico's team is simply a one dimension pragmatic team that isn't flexible. If Mbappe played in such team, he would be a nonentity.
Mbappe would be the difference maker in Atletico Madrid. If they ever want to conquer Europe he is exactly the type of player they need. I'm sure Simeone thought he was potentially getting that in Thomas Lemar else I don't see why he paid that much for him. Unfortunately that was a terrible judgement call.

Smart managers knew Lemar was a fraud quickly and stayed away so I'm surprised a whole Simeone could fall mugu

KGD10:

Lol. Chelsea was Useless that season regardless of their lucky CL triumph. They were 6th that very season for crying out loud. Everyone and his dog knew Chelsea was there for the taking. Abeg goan siddon.
They beat Bayern and Barcelona in their respective buildings. Give them some credit! They knew they were out of the league running and devoted their energy to the CL like Milan and Liverpool did in the past

KGD10:

That's where you got it wrong. Lemar played at the world cup unfortunately, the France team had no Pogba to release him with his long ball.

Lmaooooo. I thought Lemar was the master magician that could create without being fed by anybody. @ me when he scores or assists. We're in March no goals no assist. Flop of the season

Torres was just coming out of a severe injury lay off and needed enough creativity behind him to uplift his confidence which Chelsea couldn't offer him. Take Rooney for example, Rooney always take months before he could get back to his form after a long injury lay off. Torres wasn't afforded such at Chelsea. There was little creativity and he was even benched as soon as he wasn't scoring. As a result, his confidence sank. Maybe in another team, it would have gone well for him. Suffice to say some players destroy their career after making wrong career move. For example, Sahin move to Madrid.

Saul is a defensive midfielder like Khedira, Kante, Ramirez, Vidal. He's not the kind to dictate play like Modric does. He's not creative either. It's even stupid to argue this. Well, I know you have a brain of a 2years old, so I will indulge your stupidity.

Lmao. Why didn't the first attempt of playing Griezman on the wing work for Atletico after all, he's also a pacy forward like Mbappe? You're a roaming lunatic if you can't see that Atletico set up doesn't fit a wing forward.

A40:

They beat Bayern and Barcelona in their respective buildings. Give them some credit! They knew they were out of the league running and devoted their energy to the CL like Milan and Liverpool did in the past

You are probably blind to not have seen so many chances that Barca and Bayern wasted agianst Chelsea. Why did you think Di Matteo was sacked despite the CL win? This was a team who struggled to occupy 6th in the premier League table. You really have a lot of catching up to do.

A40:

Lmaooooo. I thought Lemar was the master magician that could create without being fed by anybody. @ me when he scores or assists. We're in March no goals no assist. Flop of the season

Pogba was excellent to France style play, which is all about releasing the wing forwards in acres of space on the wing. Pogba was rested in the match Lemar played hence Lemar had to do with the least he has. He was still France's best forward in that match. One fact is Mbappe was provided with several chances from the midfield while at Monaco, PSG and even at France. If Lemar was given such opportunities, he wouldn't fall on his ass like Mbappe was doing against manunited.

Lmao. Lemar off the Ball movement is on point. That's his best attribute. On his full debut for France, he scored two good goals. That he has been playing in a team that has little creativity nor require the wingforward to drift inside doesn't negate Lemar off the ball movement. Atletico's coach doesn't probably want competition for Griezman centre role like Mbappe competed with him at the world cup hence tthe reason why he instructed the wing forwards to always keep the width instead of drifting inside.

With Lemar, PSG would have proceeded to the next stage whereas Mbappe couldn't even control a simple ball.
