Teams like most businesses review their targets as the months go buy. When Fergie joined, his target was to stabilize the team and gradually shoot for the top and he did just that and when we got to the top, his target changed from just finishing amongst the top 4 to winning the league or at worst the FA Cup or UCL and he didn't fail to do that consistently...

Ole and Manchester United need to win trophies as we are too big to settle for a top 4 finish. We set our own standard here. Arsenal and Chelsea might be okay with a top 4 finish but not us...

Go to any Liverpool fan page, even with VVD and Gomez injured, they still believe they'll win the league whereas some fans here think we shouldn't be classed as contenders even though we have been very lucky with injuries and have a large and technically gifted team...If two of our first team members are injured, I'm certain Ole will be excused for whatever bad performance we put up...

This unexplainable urgency to win big is the reason we’ve fallen so deep since SAF left. The want for instant success is the reason Mourinho was appointed and look at where it brought us. If you dont have a good squad, if you haven’t built a team of challengers, changing managers anyhow is just time wasting. You can buy the new manager 13 players and things still won’t work. Look at Conte and Inter.

You people want a team that has been collecting an average of 66 points per season to suddenly become challengers.

The problem is that peeps don’t look at where we’ve been and compare it with where we are.

FYI, Man Utd hasn’t been a “big” team for the last half decade. We’ve only played UCL football 2-3 times and have been struggling locally. So all these talks about “we’re big, we should be challenging “, I don’t know where you guys get it from.

The first step is to move in the right direction - and that’s claiming 80 points and above this season. It’s going to be an upgrade from last season. That’s the barest minimum , if we claim a title in the process, good. But title should not be the main main.

From there we can move on, upgrade and then become contenders every season.

At the beginning of the season the expectation was a top 4 finish given how the TW went but 2 months later you guys are demanding a title. Cool down nao.

At the start of the season, Liverpool and Citg were outright favorites but as the season has progressed, Liverpool and City have been hit by injuries to their best important players resulting in their inconsistent performances thus far. Do you expect us to see out rivals faltering yet stick to a top 4 finish when the possibility of winning the league is there? It's this review of the season that is making us believe we stand a chance if we maintain same level of consistency...

Talking about being a big team, in the period under consideration, we have won one FA Cup, UEL, Carling Cup and Community Shield and reached the final of the FA Cup as well as semi finals of major cup competition...The only thing missing is the EPL title and UCL...Is this Manchester United standard? Hell no but we've been thereabout...Do we have the quality to nount a serious challenge? I say YES in the affirmative...We have the right mix of experience and youth to blend...When you look at the investment in the squad and the quality of players we have, it'd be shocking if we don't see ourselves as strong contenders...

If we are not contenders now, is it next season when Liverpool are back to full fitness and City with a refreshed team that we will be contenders?

Whilst at it, who are the contenders at this point?

Manchester City?
Liverpool?
Chelsea?
Leicester?
Tottenham?

Why will Liverpool and City be contenders after 15 games yet a team that is 2 points off the top and above City can't be classed as contenders?

You guys are towing the line of we are not contenders just to protect Ole...If it was any other manager, I can guarantee that most of you would be talking about the quality of players in our team...

This is it, the current reality but we fans still live in the bubble of Ferguson's Era. We are still a powerful outside the pitch but on the pitch, we are not a powerhouse anymore, but we're slowly but surely getting back at it.

You need to see Bruno's reaction to Rashford's goal yesterday and right there you'd see a man who believes impossible is nothing...

Even Ole and the players can see the table and the situation at other clubs (Man city and Liverpool), they are not stupid; they can see the opportunity we have this year.

This team is better than Liecester city 2015/2016, better than Spurs title challengers, better than Brendan Rodgers Liverpool team that challenge for the title that year, ........so I don't get the excuse everytime.

All we need is for OLE to make the right call 8 out of 10 and the players to give their 100% in games.

You’re still on about the same mentality. Sneak a title win and then what?

What we should be aiming for is to be contesting with Liverpool and City at their full strength . And rushing things will never get us there.

Im not averse to a title run or trophy- I’m praying and hoping we nick it. I’m just more particular about growth. If done the right way we’ll be contenders every season even if Liverpool, City, Chelsea are at their strongest.

Klopp’s Liverpool also grew steadily - from losing out on top 4, to barely making it, to making it convincingly and then challenging and then winning the league. And part of that is building the right team wirh the right mentality. Klopp’s problem now is staying on top and that’s the hardest thing to do. Same with Pep.

That’s why I’ll always respect SAF. He’s built a team of serial challengers and winners. We need a good squad to replicate that success and so far this squad is developing.

No one is really a contender yet. Wait till Feb or March before bringing out these talks. The usual suspects - teams who have been up there in the last 2 seasons are Liverpool and City, and that’s because of their past exploits.

And Stop joking. No one sees Leicester as a contender. They’ll be lucky if they make top 4 sef.

The Carabao cup performance against Everton is the first time I felt confident about a match in years. It gave a vibe of SAF’s team. They’ll create so many chances in the first 10-20 mins the opponent will be happy not to have conceded.

Yesterday’s match too showed some improvement in mentality of the team. We switched up gears from the 75th min or so even though the players were tired.

Rashford was gassed out by then and was barely marking. But Bruno knew he’d make something if he could just get the ball to him.

We kept pushing and then won it in the final moments. That’s the stuff champions are made of. Remember Liverpool’s last minute win vs Tottenham weeks ago? That’s the ish we’re talking about.

That mentality is the development I’m talking about. The players felt they should’ve won the Leicester game and were disappointed with a point.

That’s development.

If it wins us the league this season, fine. If we don’t, I’m happy with the development seen. It will only be a matter of time before we lift the league if that development is sustained.

But I won’t sacrifice that development for a title run this season.

What's this one even typing?

Liverpool same attack more bench options, Same Midfield. Same defense minus Van Dijk. I will give you they lost their best defender but fabinho has replaced him effectively.

Man City.
Did laporte die? Pep has dropped him for stones who he said he is a better partner with dias so I don't know why you are saying laporte. They replaced Fernadinho with Rodrigo. This is man City that lost Kdb for almost a season and won the league with 98points like nothing happened. Forget all these yarns.

LooL. So Gomez and Matip won the league for Liverpool last season? VVD, yes. Who else? All their important players have returned from injury, including TAA and Robertson. Firminho seems to be finding his feet also.

City still has KdB and Mahrez and Sterling. Aguero is the only one missing. And he had 16 goals last season due to injuries. Not surprised that he’s injured again this season.

Those are the only two teams worthy to be considered for the league at this moment. (Mourinho will likely implode wirh his Spurs team. Kane is looking jaded already and they look bereft of ideas)

And they’re not very weak as you imagined. They’re finding things difficult, yes, but claiming that injury is affecting them significantly is very debatable.

Recheck your reality bros.

2 crates of beer and 3 cartons of Olosho for you.
People want to fly before they can walk.

We are big, we are big but we never score reach 70 league goals in one season since 2013, constantly jumping in and out of top 4.
Under Woodward's management we've been mediocre but make we no blame am. We should keep blaming all the managers.

United is no longer as big as it used to be. It's only the money that has kept us relevant and that's why we've not gone the way of Milan.

Whether they think it’s sustainable or not, the fact is Man Utd is in the title race.

We are no more than two wins away from the top of the table. Acknowledging any less is just shortsighted negativity.
Is Aston Villa in the title race as well?
