Sorry for diggressing. My research on the African continent as it relates to the current American election. The Big Picture. Some people don't put reasoning before emotions. It's only people who have done their research will agree with what you are saying. I am neither Dem nor Republic. O bam a was strategically placed by the De ep S ta te to use his skin colour to infiltrate and stop the rise of A fri can independence from the We st left by Gad af fi (Read about the prosperous Li b ya St ate under Gad a f fi). Although he led for 4 decade, He through Li b ya's unique premium light crude oil created one of the best African country under his regime. His plan to re-establish the gold dinar amongst other reforms for African countries triggered the De ep St a te to act fast because if Gad a ff i succeeded, the Dollar reserve in the world was going to deplete drastically as Ch in a and Ru s sia had already reduced it from 90% to 60% and it will challenge the US stand as a Super Power to say the least. Have you ever thought why most African nations are under debt burden from IMF, the West and Europe? Currently Li b ya is a breeding ground for slave trade, drug and arms trafficking and terrorist groups run by the C I A under O ba ma and Hill ary watch. The plan was to bring in Hill ary to continue the work but Tr ump ( I know he has some character issues) came on the scene and backtracked their plan for 4yrs. That's what why since Tru mp came to power, from the Russian hoax to the Ukrainian issue to the attempted impeachment and on and on all in a bid to ouster him. They needed to get him out by all means. The last straw was the man made biological weapon (covid 19) carefully scripted I must say because they knew he was going to win again. They needed to bring in a distraction (covid 19) that would activate their plan and it worked. Watch out for the next four years and see for yourselves what happens ( amongst others, there would be a miraculous breakthrough in the covid vaccine which will make Bi den a Messiah to the world but in the real sense placed there to advance the De ep Sta te agenda. 4 Likes |

@everyone, I have been studying the effects of QE on the US and world economy. How this will eventually affect Nigeria and our foreign debts. Also stumbled upon explanations on the rise and falls of World reserve currencies (Guilder, Pounds, Dollars). Founder of Bridgewater and Billionaire, Ray Dalio is writing a book. ultron12345: I fully agree that the best form of government is an enlightened benevolent dictatorship, Singapore-style. But the odds of that successfully happening in most countries are very low. Chavez in Venezuela had the right mindset, but was economically illiterate, Castro in Cuba had the power and the will to get things done, but only achieved success in the social sphere and none in the economic, and so on. In the absence of a tried and proven template for selecting enlightened benevolent dictators, we default to democracy. And for clarity, what we have in Nigeria is not democracy, we don't elect our "leaders". 6 Likes |

ultron12345: They have been able to achieve a whole lot over the last 30 years But the draconian measures they took, and the damage those draconian measure have brought sometimes make me think it wasnt worth it The CCP model is supposed to be a transitional thing Not something of permanence If Nigeria in lieu of military rule used the CCP model (Those 30 wasted years of IBB,Abacha and Buhari and co) And then Turned to real democracy in 1999 like we did Nigeria would have been better off for it |

ahiboilandgas:Do you know how many business plans and cash flow projections are dumped daily in the trash bins of bankers? You cannot get a loan from any bank in Nigeria for this type of business without a long term supply/transportation services agreement to supply products (or serious connections in that bank). It is that agreement (and connections) that separate the small boys from the big boys. God help you in getting the transportation services agreement without meeting the requirements which include owning at least 10 new state of the art trucks and other infrastructure requirements, huge bank guarantees to back the products transported in addition to some hard to obtain documents to show how established your business is. Not for small boys! This is not even factoring in your own equity contribution (at least 20 to 30 percent of total costs) which the banks will require. Some will even ask you for additional collateral and personal guarantees from someone/company with billions. The trucks will be sold at liquidation value if they can not make money to service the loans. Who will now pay the difference? In this economy, you think the banks will gladly take that risk? Please stop misleading people. It is not that easy to get a loan from a Nigerian bank. If it was, you would have quit your job to go into haulage business full time. 5 Likes |

ultron12345:Privatization of NITEL isn’t the reason we are not complaining of telecoms today. We are not complaining because licenses were offered to Econet and MTN who came in and changed the game along with Glo. Nothing to do with the privatization of NITEL which in itself was a failure and was only privatized long after the licenses were issued. |

Lazyyouth4u: The property was worth over a 100 million Naira and we got it at a discount because the original owner is late and his children who lived abroad where not ready to come settle in Nigeria. The hospital is doing very well with rebranding and employment of young consultants as partners with shares iin the hospital. 4 Likes |

Cyberknight: Quite agree, on China, Singapore, and other Asian tigers, the evidence points to higher levels of intelligence and organization which have not been replicated in Africa. We are lower iq scores and expecting same results here is wishful. So we have a system in which we play the Russian roulette leadership selection (democracy), sometimes we get a bullet (buhari) other times we get lucky 4 Likes |

Lazyyouth4u: I have to agree with you here. Nigerian banks are probably the most risk-averse entities on the planet and considering their operating environment one can't really blame them. Everyone is now going full holding company-mode and expanding to other African countries while Emefiele continues to fool around with CRR debits in the vain hope of driving the "real" economy. 1 Like |
