This is surprising...Secondary market rates are rising, for example, Stanbic's rates today were: 49days @12.7%, 175days @12.8% and 259days @12.25%: https://comparedbest.com/ng/stanbic-ibtc-bank-nigeria.html . And the same trend in other banks: https://comparedbest.com/ng/best-nigerian-treasury-bill-rates.html

Insurance policy is not regulatory compliance. Insurance policy is dependent on the insured paying their monthly or yearly premiums and not doing anything to violate the terms of the policy. In short, you're still at the mercy of Farmcrowdy and so on. The reason banks comply with FDIC is because it is a regulatory requirement enforceable by the government, insurance policy is a private transfer of risk, nothing more!

Secondary rates vary per bank unlike primary rates, so if u need to do a comparism U may need to visit as many banks to get their secondary rates.
We try to do this comparism on this page: https://comparedbest.com/ng/best-nigerian-treasury-bill-rates.html . Secondary rates for today include Stanbic IBTCs 12.8% for 75 days. Yesterday, Zenith had 12% for 344 days.

More commercial banks tbills rates ranked top-to-bottom: https://comparedbest.com/ng/best-nigerian-treasury-bill-rates.html

Even Fixed Deposits are looking up...Ecobank has rates starting from 10.25% for less than a million Naira: https://comparedbest.com/ng/ecobank-nigeria.html .

No I haven't. I went to a Branch today to make a complaint and I was told that the investment has been terminated and the money has been released but it's not in my account yet. Weird stuff. They said they have to contact the Branch where I made the investment to have them release my money to me.

These banks don't have calculators on their apps and websites.
How do I calculate the returns on my investment based on the rates offered?
Don't tell me its the value multiplied by the percentage rate then divided by 12 months.
I don't see how this pays off.

If you don't have any immediate use for the money then 365 is the best as it usually offers the highest rate (as at the time of investing)

I've always wondered how and why secondary rates will be higher than the primary one offered by CBN. I assume banks buy from CBN and then resell. So don't they make their profit?

Those secondary rates higher than the current primary rates are mostly from tbills bought some months back not from the just concluded CBN rates.

Why are you so worried about the 'side talks' and what evidence do you have to prove we are marketers or owners of the so called tech and agric stuff?

We have all derailed this thread in one way or the other, and somehow we have never lost focus on the core purpose of the thread. You as an individual talked about Bond and Canadian visa on this thread and no one called you out with funny names.

As per tech and agric stuff, a thread has already been created. You're free to hate on the current wave, but don't at any time hate information sharing, because you are a beneficiary of what people shared on this thread.

Not yesterday. The longest tenure we saw was 259 days. The best, most recent rates for tenures close to 364 days we have seen were from Zenith (12% for 344 days on 14th Aug) and Wema (10.7% for 349 days today).

Yes, you can find out the rates the bank will bid for in the Primary market and the rates before you invest in the Secondary market. What you don't know in advance is if your primary bid will be successful (equal or lower than the CBN marginal/stop rate), or not.

Please I do not understand these banks. I went to Zenith and was told only 1 million upwards. Also at Stanbic IBTC, was told secondary has ended. Only primary is on. But I thought the rates been display was on the 15th. So why are they saying secondary has ended. And why will Zenith say only a million naira upwards can invest?

I had to open GTB because Zenith is a million upwards. Also their rates are shitty so that was another reason

Prolly you got to the bank later than 3pm for Second Market.

As for limit, some banks set their own minimum. Some 100k, others 200k. Don't know about Zenith's
