Mr--Why:

She has a point.  It all about concept, ideas and also staying abreast with the latest web technology. We seem to lack it and it spans across many professions and not only our web designers.

Instead of attack the messenger, focus on the message.

I don't think staying abreast with lastest web technology is the problem, but trying to specialise in various technology at thesame time so that you can do all by yourself.
Using myself as an example, I learnt css, html, php, mysql, javascript, jquery, photoshop, dreamweaver and more recently, I started learning c#.
I do all this just to ensure that no job relating to web/software development that might come my way will be delegated to someone else.

Not until will start working in group or collaborate, I don't think will can really produce fantabulous jobs.
This is what the white guys do, but over here? every man answer him papa name. Who get your time!

@binaflexia Plz carry on smartly !!! I hope DHTML and DUALCORE are paying attention, stick around !! u lot can learn a thing or two or even three from binaflexia.

@shilling Since you started this thread, I think its only fitting that you should post the websites that have impressed you so far.

@webmastern Dunno where to even start from bro, d core functions are ok, but the overall design needs a serious rethink.

@marshpearl @IjogzK @Mobinga Stop behaving like a bunch retards.

Obviously, you guys presume i am competing by showing you my best job? I was not, i was merely proving point of concept. As for learning for binaflexia, it is possible.
But let me state clearly here that i am a web programmer, i develop web apps mainly, i am NOT A WEBSITE DESIGNER. If the guy cannot realize that my website is a web-app rather than a blog (i mean the binaflexia), then i rest my case.

And this is my last post on this thread anyway, hasta la vista. As long as my daily bread does not come from this thread.

binaflexia:

No matter the purpose of a website, a good design will always make the site more interesting to it's users.

Me, I'm not a good interface designer myself, but I recognise and appreciate one when I see it.

www.dhtmlexreme.net interface? it's nah. . . nah. . . .nah. It looks like a poorly edited blog template.

Check out www.css-tricks.com, also a  developer's site and tell me your observations.

And for the comparison. I built mine from scratch while yours is a edited template. Right?
You have failed by distracting the thread and showing off your inferiority complex and lack of understanding + immaturity in public. But no problem, i will let this one slide.

You guys are falling my hand seriously. . . .

And yet my "poorly edited blog" has far far better useful contents that your nonsense site. And i have adsense earnings as well, and far better alexa ranking. Lol. . . .compared to your colorful website.

Okay okay, i return to the thread. I am no longer angry at anyone.

@binaflexia, what i said about my site was from a programmers point of view, my site is plain yes - i made it plain and simple, but if you browse through that site carefully and if you are a programmer, you will discover its uniqueness, and yes, people visit everyday and interact with one or more section of the site, that is why i have good ranking. As a programmer, i am more concerned about functionalities of my personal website, and the site is serving its purpose as far as i am concerned, but that does not mean there is no space for improvement on the graphics (but believe me, that is not a priority).
Note some features of the site, it does not take forever to load despite slow connections, it degrades fairly well if no javascript, it has a fairly manageable mobile version. . .

My website also has archives of stuffs in the blog and elsewhere, and this is why it generates a lot of traffick. You can just type "" into google and see what it will give you. Another way to review your website is to use the woorank tool - www.woorank.com

Now, as a web-programmer, i split up work with a frontend developer. BTW that interswitch website has mad traffick and it is done with CMS - now, I cannot immagine someone that is not vast in programming knowlege being able to pull off a CMS with the structure of that site as it is - that was the only thing i did on that site - and boy that was the toughest site i ever made into CMS. I cannot explain in public the other gismos i placed in the site.

@doncigalo, as dual core pointed out we are sometimes limited by what the client provides. For some clients they do not provide enough money to get professional frontend developers into the job.

Take a look at this site for instance - www.3stiches.com - it was developed by one of my web students, he has similar skills as me, but he is more of frontend than backend. However, the only external help he required was the SEO, and that same OMAVO guy helped him to do that, i linked them together.

If the client does not pay enough, we make do with what we have. One of my former professors for instance is more or less compelling me to do a site for her for 25k, now do you think i will be able to hire a professional frontend developer if the price is not raised
These are practical things we face in Nigeria that affects the final outlook of the site. If you just started working, you will not realize all these stuffs.

But whatever the case is, just make sure you satisfy your client and get PROPERLY paid for whatever services you provide.

I'm still thankful to you and dhtml for the time and efforts you put in to answer my questions and I look forward for more useful advice from you guys.

@ DUALCORE Have you fixed the compatibility issue on ur website yet ?? What wud Dangote think if he used an Internet Browser to view your website ?? Heres d screen shot to refresh ur AGEING memory [img][/img]

@ DHTML  Wots all dis im not a web designer story, the job  u did for interswitch (ur best job u say , in my opinion it is a glorified image gallery mate ), was it not a webdesign job ?? if u didnt advertise to yourself them as a web designer then how did u get job ?  U've got no excuses except you outsourced the  interswitch job,  dat would actually explain the continued poor design layout of your website. And please what contents are you talking about ?? I've been through the blog and Ive noticed that you hardly generate any comment on your posts because u copy and paste other people posts. Be original mate !! Concerning ur far better Alexa ranking, Ive just been through the Top 100 rankings in Nigeria and guess wot ?? u aint there ! not even close!!  ur number 583 !!! which means ur adsense earning as we both know  is hardly enough to even buy a recharge card. Perharps if u take the time to redesign ur website and start posting usefull content (not copy and paste other people topics, wonder if that is the same way u code ??) u might move up a couple of notches.

Nobody is banning anyone. The idea of a forum is to share knowlege. Obviously, some of you here to my surprise still do not know the difference between a web programmer and a website designer AND A CMS INSTALLER.

I am sorry to say this, but doncigalo seems to be the dullest person on this thread - it is because of him i painstakingly wrote all that - but he lacks the brains to comprehend it. SMH

It is very very annoying. It is a constant source of irritation, most times you need to do stylesheet for IE separately.

.net ranking information from woorank.com
71,057th most visited website in the World
617th most visited website in Nigeria
. . .not bad. I know nada about SEO.

Observation about  www.3stiches.com. Though the frontend designer did a good job, but the contents within the white main content area has no breathing space from the content area margins. Secondly, the white main content area doesn't actually go down well with the background image. They really doesn't look good together.

My personal observation.

I hate internet explorer too but we all have to bear with people because they still use it. I had fixed the issue in the past skipped re-uploading the affected file. Done the re-up, cleared the server cache and its all good on IE.

This is the difference between you and I, doncigalo. We will never be at par until you have learned to use your head.

Interestingly my impression about you doncigalo has not changed, you are a foolish kid with a lot to learn. Like I said, that should be your first and only job for now. . . with some faith and aging you will have more jobs.

.net is ranked #68,654 in the world according to the three-month Alexa traffic rankings, and the time spent in a typical visit to the site is roughly seventeen minutes, with 56 seconds spent on each pageview. This site's visitors view 13.3 unique pages each day on average. About 81% of the site's visitors are in Nigeria, where it has attained a traffic rank of 583. .net is located in Nigeria.

@sology I hear the ignoramus

now lets see, which of these ageing ignoramus do I start with @DUALCORE or @DHTML ,

@DHTML Please stop calling ur self a programmer, ur a HACK mate !!! Ur the breed of Nigerian dat believe once they read w3schools and answer a couple of questions on forums they can start calling themselves programmers. Hate to break it to u mate , U aint even close. And wat did u smoke when u were wrote that software developers dont like properly designed sites ?? Please speak for you ignoramus self. R u even making sense ?? If you were at least a beginner in the field of programming/software developement u wud have been introduced to USABILITY/ HUMAN AND COMPUTER INTERACTION, which in case ur googling it at this moment is all about designing and building apps or programmes that are intuitive to use, and one of the key factors in building an app or a programme that is intuitive is having a well designed layout.Considering the HACK that you are, I'm pretty sure that you dont even what is Requirements Analysis as well, cuz if u do actually carry out an RA, a key requirement feature for any web design or web development job is having a well designed layout. Well since u are a glorified web HACK, I dont think ur comments matter anymore. And of course when someone shud view ur website y wont he say that he has 25k for a webdesign job. And please dose estimation site are worth jack shit mate !! u wont to tell me that ur earn 50k dollars every year through your website ??Wot a clown , so this is the line u use on people when u create websites (blogs) for them.

The user Sprumbaba has a question for u as well ?? Plz answer,

@DODOCORE U my ageing friend are a web hack as well, a glorified one!! Plz fix the compatability issues on ur website before coming back to post anything. Its HACKS like u that have been given the Nigerian IT Industry as a whole a bad rep, no wonder u lot are always complaining about clients . Step up ur game and perhaps ur clients will appreciate u more.

@nairalanders heres my most recent work that I posted that these ingoramus hacks are so jealous about www.trident.com.ng

LOBATAN!!!

I woudn't believe it if i was told that you can whine so much this way like a baby. You use to be one of those guys i respect in webmaster section. But since I don't follow all your post and after these craps you have put, i doubt it.

FYI, sabidgroup is a company website that was launched few days ago. The don't care much about revenue generation, traffics and all those your other craps. If you had the patience to navigate the site, you will find out that almost all the nav menu are non-functional expect for the contact page. This site doesn't even show up on google. Ah! na wah.

But seriously, I wonder what you're crying about. Who ever called you a web designer? Check my previous post, i suggested that you should give the inteface work to a web designer. But no, you don't read previous replies before you post, which is also pathetic for a so called mature developer.

You really fall my hand. Seriously, I think you need some growing up men.

Before the shameful spambot eat up my post, this is what I wrote,

*dhtml:

Me I no dey vex too . .

.net ranking information from woorank.com
71,057th most visited website in the World
617th most visited website in Nigeria
. . .not bad. I know nada about SEO.

Observation about  www.3stiches.com. Though the frontend designer did a good job, but the contents within the white main content area has no breathing space from the content area margins. Secondly, the white main content area doesn't actually go down well with the background image. They really doesn't look good together.

My personal observation.

@doncigalo, come on shut up joor. You lack respect!!!

What do you know? What can you even do? You do not have bragging (your bragging rights is your portfolio) rights at all (when it comes to that), so respect yourself and continue learning (that is if you can).

Talking about designs now, the site you posted is simply an everyday regular site that any jack can come up with, so whats the heck with you.

Talking about programming, i can bet you do not know jack as well. Plugging in already coded jquery codes does not make you a programmer anyway!!!!!!!!

Now my advice: Go back, start learning and come back later.

Wait, apologise for your misconduct before going to learn.  angry

See one of the reasons I am me and you are you: http://www.freelancer.com/users/375635.html

Look at my completed jobs and look at my jobs in progress and let me know which of those you can come close to comprehending how I did (and i'm doing) them. Just a tip: in the real world, its real problems. . . not jQuery edits.

I don't need ignorant Nigerian clients (who don't know what they want) to do what I know how to do cuz I am even too busy on the international scene making real clients know something  good could actually come out of Nigeria.

Apologize? LoL, when hell freezes over. Ain't you used to these kinda people? Allow him to continue making noise. Don't blame him, blame the jQuery coders who did the actual building of the scripts with an overly clear documentation that just anyone could pick up and use.  tongue
