Famous Prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele has revealed Bukola Saraki being president will change many things for good in Nigeria and their will be peace in Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch of his yearly book, titled ‘Warning To The Nations’, which is a compilation of his prophecies covering the 2018/2019 period, the Primate said if PDP wants to win 2019 election, Senate President, Bukola Saraki must be given the party’s ticket.

“I do not know Saraki neither do we have any link, politically nor otherwise. But he is the only man who can win anything for PDP. Bukola Saraki being president will change many things for good in Nigeria and their will be peace in Nigeria”.

He also said that President Buhari will not find it easy in his bid for a second term. According to him, there would be tougher times for the country and, in particular, the ruling All Progressives Congress in the coming year.

On the Osun governorship election, ‘if Osun APC didn’t put their house in order they will find it difficult to retain Osun state’ he said. He also urge the Northerners to pray against losing a very prominent Emir in the North.

On the way out of Nigeria Problem, he said ‘practice Through Federalism, whereby states will be in charge of their own affairs, taking care of their resources and their people. Let their be No election in 2019. After Federalization, Nigeria will not exceed beyond 2035 before splitting’.

One of the members of the defunct Plantashun Boiz, Chibuzor Oji popularly known as Faze, is back on the beat. This is coming after taking a long break many would rather describe as ‘exile’.
Faze blew up the music industry with hit songs like Cold Sweat, Kolomental, Faze Alone, Originality, Kpo Kpo Di Kpo, Need Somebody, Perfect Woman, Tattoo Girls, to mention but a few. In this interview, the entertainer spoke about his past, present and plans for the immediate future.
How has life been since you went solo after the break up of Plantashun Boiz?
I must say that life has been wonderful. You get to see a lot of ups and downs, which has made me learn a lot more.
You disappeared from the stage for so long and now just gaining your entry back. What do you have to say to that?
My disappearance, as you said, was to study the type of sound being made everywhere so I can fix myself in it without deviating from my real self. That’s just it.
You were being too diplomatic speaking up when a big fight broke out between Tuface and Black Face. Was that your way of not wanting to be accused of taking to any side, even when you claimed you know the whole truth about the matter?
Sorry, I don’t have any comment on that.
Does it bother you that you are not as rich as some musicians who were in the same rank with you, back in the days of Plantashun Boiz?
No, that doesn’t bother me one bit. Why should it?
If you have your way, would you wish Plantashun Boiz come back to the scene?
Pardon me. I also won’t like to make any comment on that.
Which of your songs would you say fans have identified with the most?
Really, the Nigerian fans are flexible about choice. I can’t choose for them. They should be in the best position to decide which of my songs has appealed to them the most. I can’t make that judgement by myself.
What are you currently working on?
I am releasing my singles soon with the videos, and like I did my ‘Faze and Friends Concert’ in Abuja,
I am doing more in other places and then the grand finale in Lagos. That is when the album titled, 2000 and Faze (Away and Back) would be released.
What is your definition of a successful music career?
A successful music career is when people look up to you and your songs and confess how they have made impacts on people’s lives. You actually teach and preach through your songs for your impact to be felt.

A Very bad mother has been arrested after she gave birth to a baby girl some days ago and allegedly buried the baby alive.

Report has it that trouble started when the youths of the village discovered she was no longer with her baby and she was finally confessed to the crime and was forced to dig up the baby from where she buried her.

She has been arrested and taken to the police station.

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigerian (CBCN) has barred its priests and religious leaders from endorsing aspirants to elective offices.

They are also not to allow politicians use the church premises or property for any political event.

CBCN in a statement by its President, Most Rev Augustine Akubeze and Secretary, Most Rev Camillus Umoh warned that it will sanction any clergy or religious leader that flouts the new order.

The CBCN further said: “We, the members of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), as teachers of the faith and morals, do have the serious obligation to educate our faithful on their role in the political life of the country.

“We have observed that the political atmosphere is very tensed and also noticed the political realignment that is taking place.

“Some politicians are changing political parties and urging their supporters to switch over their support to their new parties as well. Given this development, we wish to use this opportunity to make it clear that the Catholic Church remains ever apolitical and does not endorse or subscribe to any political party.”

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has commended Nigerians, the European Union, United Kingdom, United States of America and other leaders for their prompt condemnations of the siege witnessed at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Frank, who appealed to world leaders to direct their embassies in Nigeria to investigate the siege on the country’s National Assembly, also asked that embassies to revoke the visas of every single person found culpable.

In a statement by Frank on Wednesday in Abuja, he called on the international community to henceforth keep a close watch on the electoral process in Nigeria, especially the forthcoming general elections.

According to Frank, Tuesday’s invasion of the National Assembly if not for the prompt intervention of Nigerians and the country’s international allies, would have severely undermined and out-rightly truncated the country’s fledgling democracy.

“While I thank Nigerians for their vigilance, I also thank the governments of the EU, UK, USA and other leaders of the international community immensely for the failed coup against an arm of Government in Nigeria.

“I enjoin the UK, USA, EU and other respectable leaders in the international community to continue to keep a close watch on the electoral process in Nigeria, especially the forthcoming general elections.

“Your keen interest in next year’s elections, as well as the process leading to the elections, will be highly appreciated as Nigerians no longer have confidence in the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to conduct free, fair and credible elections come 2019.

“Let me use this opportunity to once more appeal to your governments, through your various Embassies in Nigeria to investigate what transpired at the National Assembly on Tuesday and met out appropriate sanctions on anyone found culpable, whether in the echelon of the security or political offices to serve as a deterrent to others. Let me also plead with your embassies in Nigeria to revoke the visas of every single person found culpable.

“Besides, let me use this opportunity to bring to your notice the action of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, where he sacked the Director General (DG) of the Department of State Services (DSS). To my mind, this only happened as a result of the intervention from quarters like yours.

The Police in Lagos have arrested a 45-year-old housewife, Hadijat Kabir for allegedly arranging her own kidnap in order to defraud her husband of N15million. Muraino Kabir of Governor’s Road, Ikotun reported at the Ikotun Police Station that his wife and 18-year-old daughter, Hamidat Kemi, who is of unsound mind were, kidnapped on their way to Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos.

The kidnappers reportedly demanded the sum of N15m before the hostages would be released.

An investigation by the Lagos State Police Command revealed that the kidnappers were making their demands from a community in Ogun State, called Ado-Odo, Ado –Odo Ota LGA.

The operatives of the squad mobilised to the area and busted the camp of the kidnappers.

Following the operation, the hostages were rescued while some of the suspects were arrested. Others are still at large.

During the course of interrogation, Hadijat Kabir confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects to defraud her husband

The case is still under investigation with a view to arresting the fleeing suspects.

We read the statement attributed to the ungrateful governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel against uncommon Senator Godswill Akpabio with great shock and bewilderment.

We had waited long for the ungrateful governor to denounce the story credited to him as saying uncommon Senator Godswill Akpabio is a greedy, arrogant and egocentric fellow but such was not forthcoming.

Therefore, we are forced to remind the oracle of the tree it was calved out from because it seems the oracle is going beyond it’s boundaries.

Let it be noted that the ungrateful Governor Udom Emmanuel was an obscure man who couldn’t have become anything even in his Local Government in Akwa Ibom State until Akpabio singlehandedly made him governor.

He is a man who is too disconnected from the political realities of Akwa Ibom State until uncommon Senator Akpabio dusted him up and used all his connections, resources and influences as then Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum to make him governor of the state against all odds and barriers.

But little did the uncommon Senator knew that the illiterate jurat was an ungrateful and deceitful fellow who will never appreciate his kind and generous gestures not even when he made unnecessary enemies because of the ingrate.

At worst, we never expected the ungrateful governor to castigate his political benefactor in the public forum with denigrating words let alone calling him a greedy, arrogant and egocentric man. May our gentle kindness never bring troubles to us, Amen.

Meanwhile, following the planned defection of the uncommon Senator to the All Progressives Congress this week, the ungrateful governor has assembled a well funded propaganda machneries in connivance with the media apparachiks of the PDP to scandals, demonise and fabricate fake, spurious and unfounded stories against Chief Akpabio but we are never afraid of that as we are equally up to the task.

Therefore, we appeal to Nigerians to ignore whatever lies the ungrateful governor and his lying machines would ditch out to them in the form of news reports or opinion articles.

We also appeal to the good people of Akwa Ibom State to support the new political move of uncommon Senator Godswill Akpabio as he forges new frontiers for the betterment of the state and the entire South-South region.

On our part, we will stop at nothing but making sure that the ungrateful governor becomes a one term governor of Akwa Ibom State.

For more than a week, Kizz Daniel and Harrysong have been embroiled in a war of words since the latter released his new song, Selense, which featured Daniel.

Daniel had claimed that Harrysong breached the agreement they had when he was approached for the collaboration that also had Reekado Banks in it. In this interview with SEGUN ADEBAYO, Harrysong cleared the air on the controversy that has turned the two music stars against each other.

What informed your decision to do a remix of Selense at a time when the original version was still trending?

I really would not have talked about this matter because I have decided to move on, but because of those who don’t know what has been happening, I may be forced to speak on this. I had to stop the promotion of the first Selense because it was bringing the kind of positive attention that I envisioned for the song.

What do you mean by that?

I am somebody who likes to put his best into anything he does, and I always look out for those who could add value to my job; so if I did not get what I was looking for, I had to switch to Plan B. The plan B was the remix that had Iyanya and Dice Ailes on the remix version.

You were reportedly forced to stop promoting the song because of Kizz Daniel’s verse that seemed to have subtly told you he’s better than you. Is this true?

You may be right if you say he was one of the reasons or perhaps the major reason the promotion of the first Selense had to be discontinued. I didn’t expect him to jump on my song and put out words that are not right. He exhibited arrogance during and after the recording of the song and I was not very happy about it. It didn’t allow me to take the song to the level I wished to take it to.

Is it true that you said he was arrogant?

Kizz Daniel is too proud. I don’t know why a young boy like him can be so arrogant. You don’t just open your mouth and say anything because you feel you have the liberty to talk. Not to me. Not on my song. I would never take that from him.

People have been asking why you released the song if you were not comfortable with his track?

Let me tell you this today, I am a man of my words and I don’t like to dissapoint my fans, no matter what happens. They got me to this level and I am grateful for their love and support over the years. The fact is that I never wanted to release the song when I heard Kizz’s verse but I could not stop it because millions of people were waiting to hear what myself, Kiss and Reekado Banks would come up with on the song. Stopping its release would not be good enough, so I let it go.

Some people said you stoke this fire to serve as publicity stunt for the song to trend…

Publicity stunt? My career has never been built on stunts. I have dropped hit songs back to back and I have never been involved in any publicity stunt. My career is built on God’s grace, blessing, hard work and good will from the people. I would not have come this far if I was building my career on publicity stunt.

Do you regret featuring him on the song?

No. I don’t. As I said, I have moved on to bigger things. There was no point sleeping on that matter. As a matter of fact, the remix is out and people love it and we are promoting it. You can feel the Selense fever everywhere. Good music will sell itself, especially when it is coming from a serial hit maker. So, for now, nothing is stopping us. We are moving ahead. I have been busy performing at different shows and making every moment count.

What is the situation of things between you and Kizz now?

There is no situation. Everything is back to normal and I have not even seen him. I don’t want to talk about him because I am focusing on my job, not him. If I was thinking about him, I would not have released the remix. For me to have abandoned the first ‘Selense’ should tell anyone that I am always quick to move on to the next plan. Nothing is capable of slowing me down. This is Harrysong, the man whose grace of God is sufficient for. Let’s talk about me and not anybody else. He’s a small boy who needs to be schooled.

Did you see his response to your claim, where he said you breached the agreement when you decided to bring Reekado Banks on the song without telling him?

What response? Do you call that a response? Is that a normal statement. I think he should go and fire whoever is handling his PR for him. He should put his house in shape. I had vowed I would not respond to this anymore. I am not paying attention to that right now. This matter is not for this moment. It would be addressed later. See let me tell you, Kizz Daniel should not force me to talk.

Did you tell him that Reekado Banks was going to be on the song?

I saw the concocted statement that was released from his stable on this matter. He should just keep quiet and focus on building his career rather trying to act funny with me. He claimed he did not have any issue with Reekado Banks in that statement that was released by one quack, who claimed to be part of his PR team.

So, he never wanted to work with Reekado Banks?

This is the same Kizz Daniel that said he never wanted to have anything to do with Reekado Banks when he heard that he would be on ‘Selense’ with him. Now he came out to the public to say he has no issue with Reekado Banks. He should learn how to put his house in order. I feel sorry for the boy. As of the time of recording the song, he said he would not do anything for Reekado Banks for personal reasons. So, if he has reconciled with Reekado Banks now, congratulations to him. His ignorance and those around him is becoming so glaring.

It has been more than a year since you floated your record label, Alter Plate; what has been happening to the project?

The project is big and we are moving on steadily. We have quite a number of projects we have lined up. Albums, videos, concerts and more are coming. We are not new to taking big steps because that has always been our goal. That is why we have come this far in less than a year.

A lot has happened to you in the last one year. You left Five Star Music and you have been enjoying your career since then. What do you think about your career at this point?

I am grateful to God for how far I have come. I am working hard every day to make sure I build a strong brand for myself. I don’t ever want to be involved in any controversy. I am not interested in all that drama. I have moved up the ladder and God has been good to me. Let us just keep working hard and remain thankful.

Why Did You Choose Music?

This might sound like a cliche but I guess music chose me. Music has always been a part of me from childhood. My dad was and still is a lover of music so I was exposed to a lot of music consciously and unconsciously when I was little. My dad used to listen to a lot of Ebenezer Obey, king Sunny Ade, Bob Marley and the likes. Music played nonstop on weekends while I did my house chores so I learnt to love it and it became a part of me. Also we had one of the biggest new school artistes of that time (junior & pretty) staying just a street away from my home. That further inspired me to choose music.

Were Your Parents In Support When You Decided To Pursue A Career In Music?

Things may have changed now but Nigerian parents back then wouldn’t readily support music because they thought it was just for show and that one couldn’t make a career and a living off of it so at first it was difficult but as time went on i got the full support of my parents and today the music we thank God the music is profitable.

Aside From Singing, What Is Pepenazi’s Other Talent?

Ahh!!! Pepenazi is multi-talented oo lol. Well asides music I do a lot of poetry/spoken word, I’m a great dancer when I choose to and when I play football you can’t get behind me when I’m in defence.

Tell Us About Your Background and Journey To Stardom.

I come from a very humble background. I like to think I grew up with the best family anyone can ask for. A stern but loving dad and a totally amazing mum who’d go out of her way to make sure her kids are happy and achieve their dreams. I’m from Ondo state, went to Mayflower secondary school ikenna and a graduate of Estate Management from Federal University of Technology Akure (Futa). My music journey has not been entirely smooth, I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Facing a lot of challenges from funding, to booking studio sessions, finding it hard to work with the right producers and promoting my craft. Hard work, perseverance and tenacity is what has kept me going right from when I dropped my first single up until date. God has also positioned a lot of people to be of massive support to me on my way up like the likes of Do2dtun of Cool Fm, Olamide baddo and so many others I can’t even mention here of which I’m very grateful for.

What Would You Like To Change At This Point In Your Career?

Like great Economists say “The human want is insatiable” so people always tend to want more no matter how high or how far they reach. I’m not where I want to but I’m definitely not where I used to so I’m grateful and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m just focused on living my best life and affecting positively the lives of those around me and impacting lives positively with my music.

How Many Songs Do You Write In A Week?

Well there’s no way I can put a number to that. There are days I write more than 3 songs a day, other days I might hit a brick wall and just be blank. It really has to do with inspiration and how I’m feeling at the time. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to record a melody that comes to head. So I just write as it comes, no pressure.

Are Your Songs From Personal Experience or Your Imagination?

Some from experience, some from imagination. Just like literature not all stories are based on reality but it doesn’t deter the fact that they are great stories.

Are You Still In A Relationship With Your Girlfriend From The Days In FUTA?

Yes ooo lol. We’re still going strong. I’ve loved music from my FUTA days and we’re gonna be together forever.

I’ve had a lot of those moments but I think the one that comes to mind now is a show I went to at the University of Lagos (unilag). I was performing on stage and a fan took one leg of my shoe while I was still performing so I had to finish my performance with only one shoe on my feet. I gave him the other leg when I was done though, it’s all love lol.

DI’JA. There’s something transparent about her personality apart from the music which is quite enticing. She’s super-real and her Afro-urban fashion statements sweeps me off.

Which Artistes Are You Looking Forward To Work With

Right now am quite eager to work with “FEMI-KUTI” afrobeat is world-music right now and it would be of great delight to have a feel of his spiritual added to my archives. I literally have most of the Nigerian top guns in my forthcoming album so would need to spread tentacles ‘would also love to do something with South African emerging female artist ‘Shekhinah’ she’s simply amazing. Sauti soul would be my last shot.

Your Best Song So Far?

All my songs are very special to me because they were practically the best expression of message I felt as at the time of recording & release. This is a spot on question but just because I have to chose one I would go with [ASE] FT TIWA SAVAGE which simply means [Amen] in English translation. Why? Cuz it’s a song that shares deep reflection of my beginning my struggle hard work and reward and at the end every man hustle needs a prayer but what’s most important is an “AMEN” to crown it all.

Why Is It Taking So Long To Release Your Debut Album

For everything I do, I make sure it’s organically coordinated and grown. An album is a collective effort of one’s content and talent which has to be well prepared ‘convincing enough to worth the mind and penny expended on it by fans and any passerby newly introduced to my sound. My album is 90% ready trust me And am sure when it drops it sure would be worth the wait.

What Are The Projects Pepenazi Is Currently Working On, And What Should The Fans Expect Before 2018 Ends

Just rounded up my “UK TOUR” and it was worth every day spent, just rounded an African project with “BBC WORLD SERVICE” that should be out in a bit. Am also looking forward to my debut album dropping September 2018. I just recently shot a video in London for my new coming up single that should be looked forward to.

Will You Vote Buhari In the 2019 Elections and Why?

I don’t think that’s a good decision for any Nigerian, neither am i a fan of the old generation set of rulers who are still in our faces & extremely power hungry. We need young minds productive /unbiased set of rulers who are ready to take the country forward “it’s a crazy world we living in right now that needs deliverance ” I look forward to everyone getting their Pvc’s so at least that gives you a voice.

Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has formally declared his intention to contest for the presidency in 2019.

Dankwambo made his position known on Saturday during a meeting with delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the north-east sub region.

He said he decided to vie for the ticket, after numerous calls and wide consultations with various stakeholders from the zone.

“There have been calls for me across the country to contest for the presidency in 2019, however I feel it is pertinent to seek the consent of you the delegates from my zone before I throw my hat into the contest.

“Therefore, I have shown interest and counting on your support I will contest for the PDP presidentail ticket come 2019,” he stated.

This might sounds insane to many people but that’s the pure truth. My family life is at the brink (divorced but not yet legal)

As am typing this, i’m in deep confusion and pain. It started some years back, my wife started going to this church (name withheld) that one of her friends invited her to join, at first i really don’t care cause women(or girls)of nowadays can’t be controlled cause of this equality.

Now it’s affecting me and i can’t cope again, Monday to Sunday now it’s one programme after another night vigil, special prayers and all.

Sometimes I eat late in the night,she wouldn’t return on time to prepare dinner,no time to have normal and enjoyable s€x with my spouse,she is always busy with church activities

I’ve complained several times and she will always promise to change,all to no avail,i even asked her never to attend dat church again, next ting i know their pastor was at mah door step begging me to retract my decision that evriting will change..(noting changes,it’s even worse)

So,since i can’t make her to desist from goin to the said church,i actually commot her from my house,since dat church is affecting her business also,she does’nt have time for shop again..

The main reason i wrote all dat sermon is dat,was i wrong in anyway? Cause i’m feeling guilty rite now and dats wots causing d pain in mah heart

A hairdresser, Folashade Odubayo has been arrested by the police for allegedly throwing her two-year-old son, Rilwan Asore into a well in Ajegunle, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The infant was recovered dead from the well after some residents of the community, who saw his body floating around 8am on Monday, reported the incident to the police at the Owode Onirin Division.

Odubayo, who fled the scene, was reportedly tracked down on Wednesday at her residence in Iketu, a neighbouring community.

The suspect is an indigene of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and her three children, including Rilwan, are fathered by three different men.

She said the kid died at her boyfriend’s residence in Ajegunle during a visit.

Odubayo, a 30-year-old hairdresser said she threw the corpse into the well out of confusion.

She claimed that the complication occurred around 11pm on Monday while she was with the kid at her boyfriend’s residence in Ajegunle.

She said, “I gave birth to him on the road, on my way to a hospital. He started gasping while she was six months old and I took him to Ikorodu General Hospital. I was told that he had a hole in the heart and that I would need about N1.5m to carry out a surgery on him in India.

“I was calling his father and telling him about our child’s case for one year, but he did not show up. I even told his sister about it.

“On July 30, I went to visit my boyfriend, Ola, and took Rilwan along with me. While I was waiting for Ola to come back from work, he started gasping again. I held him to my chest, but he did not survive it. I didn’t know what to do. I was confused. I threw his corpse inside the well because I didn’t know what to tell his father.

“I have two other children – a boy and a girl. I cannot kill my own child. Why should I kill him?”

But Rilwan’s father, Olalekan Asore, stated that his estranged lover never told him that their son was suffering from a heart-related ailment, claiming that the boy was killed.

While lamenting that he regretted his relationship with the suspect, the technician said he never knew she had borne two children until she became pregnant for him.

He said, “I am a technician. I usually work at Abeokuta, Ogun State and it can take me weeks before I return to Lagos. Anytime I come back, I always give her money to take care of our child.

“She called me last week and asked where I was. I told her I was at Abeokuta and promised to see her when I came back. On Wednesday morning, I went to her house, but I did not meet her. I was leaving when her mother called me back.

“She directed me to her son, Taiye, who told me my son had died and had been buried in Ikorodu. I was shocked and wondered what could have happened to him.

“Meanwhile, there was a time the man (Taiye) confronted me for not coming to visit my son. He said if my son died, he would throw his body away. My son was killed. Why didn’t they allow me or my sister to see his corpse before he was buried?”

Olalekan stated that Folashade used to call him that Rilwan was admitted to a hospital, but said he would not meet her and the boy on getting to the hospital.

“If I called her on getting to the hospital, she would say my son had just been discharged. I would go home to check on the boy, but I would not see any sign of sickness in him. She forced me to pay N10,000 for the treatment. At times, she would collect N15,000 from me. She did that often,” he added.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the suspect had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigation.

He said, “Around 8am on Monday, a resident of Omowale Street, Ajegunle, reported that he saw the corpse of a two-year-old child later identified as Rilwan Asore inside a well in the above address.

“The scene was promptly visited by detectives. The corpse was removed and taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The mother of the deceased has been arrested. On interrogation, she confessed that she threw the baby into the well.”

The Niger State Child Rights Agency has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Juliet Moses, for allegedly burning her 3-year-old son’s hands with hot charcoal.

When asked why she burnt his hand, Juliet explained that her son went to steal from her neighbor’s pot and she burnt his hands to teach him a lesson. She said;

“My neighbour told me my son entered into her house and stole food from her pot and when I asked him, he refused to tell me the truth, so I put hot charcoals on his hands, I did not know it would burn his hands like that.

I think I am just teaching him a lesson because that is the way they start. From small stealing, they would grow into big time stealing. I felt when I punish him like that, he will not do so again. This is the first time I burnt his hands like that.”

“The wound on his head was as a result of him falling down when I pushed him. Also the iron mark on my daughter’s back, I was not the one who did that to her. My neighbors brought me her because they felt I am maltreating my children. ”

The Director-General, Mariam Kolo, said the woman should be taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

Against the gale of defections from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari has met with governors elected under the party behind closed-door.

The meeting took place at the First Lady’s Wing of the Presidential villa, Abuja.

Even though no agenda of the meeting was made public, it was expected to review the recent developments in the party before the planned departure for a 10-day holiday by the president.

At the meeting were governors of Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Aminu Masari (Katsina), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Rochas Okorocha (Imo).

Others are Ibikunle Amosu (Ogun), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Simeon Lalong (Plateau), Sani Bello (Niger) and Deputy Governor of Osun State, TitilayoLaoye-Tomori

Absent were the governors Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi).

Also at the meeting the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and the Minister of Justice/Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

President arrived for the meeting at 9.44pm as it thereafter went into a closed door session.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was hurriedly released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday after suffering high blood pressure during interrogation.

Punch reports that the Ekweremadu who was interrogated for over eight hours on Tuesday, returned for another round of questioning on Wednesday morning but after some hours, he had high blood pressure and was allowed to go home.

“During the interrogation on Wednesday, the Deputy Senate President started to complain of discomfort and he told us that he had high blood pressure. We noticed the symptoms and we immediately released him.” a source at the antigraft commission said
Ekweremadu was invited by the commission undeclaring some of his properties. It was alleged that while the lawmaker listed some of the properties in his asset declaration form filled at the Code of Conduct Bureau, over half of the properties were undeclared.

The properties include 11, Evans Enwerem Street, Apo Legislative Quarters, Apo, Abuja; Plot 2633 Kyami, Abuja; Housing Estate, Plot 1106 CRD, Cadastral Zone 07-07, Lugbe, Abuja; Plot 2782, Asokoro Extension, Abuja; houses at Citi Park Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja; and Plot 1474, Cadastral Zone BD6, Mabushi, Abuja.

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

He made the announcement Tuesday evening.

In a statement sent to DAILY POST by Dr. Muyideen Akorede, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, the Kwara Governor gave reason for his defection.

He explained that his decision followed due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state.

Ahmed added that he defected to PDP, having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.

His announcement coincided with that of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Saraki wrote on his Twitter page: “I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave off the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

The immediate past National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, on Monday reacted to the impeachment notice served on Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom by eight members of the State House of Assembly.

In a statement signed by his spokesman, Muktar Zubairu Sirajo, he expressed his concern at the seeming obsession with some forces, who seem bent on truncating Nigeria’s democracy.

According to Makarfi, this was happening “despite numerous judicial pronouncements, some by even the highest court of the land, more than 2/3 of a 30-member House of Assembly will be denied access to, and in fact chased away from the House by the Police, while giving state cover to seven or so other members to sit and even attempt to impeach a democratically elected governor for the simple reason that some quarters have been slighted by the governor’s decision to move from one party to another.

“Senator Makarfi considers this as an unlawful, disgraceful and undemocratic act, which portends a danger of monumental proportions to the country and its institutions”.

Senator Makarfi further insisted that freedom of association, is the inalienable right of every Nigerian, as enshrined in the country’s constitution and all international conventions.

“More importantly however the fact is that impeachment of a state governor is a legal and constitutional function, the process of which is clearly spelt out in our constitution, with no ambiguity.

“The Senator reminds Nigerians, particularly the APC and its leadership that the PDP, when it held sway, respected the rights of the people to freely decide what political platform(s) to identify with, a stance that the APC more than any other party, reaped bountifully from and the fruits of which included Governor Ortom himself, at that point.

“It therefore smacks of hypocrisy and a brazen disrespect for fundamental human rights for the same party to now deny people the right defect from it for whatever reason(s). It is imperative, as far as Senator Makarfi is concerned, that people’s rights and freedoms of movement and association and all other rights be respected fully by the state and its agencies; and that both the APC and its government brace up for more people exercising these fundamental rights and respect same

“The Senator appeals to the people of Benue State to, even as they resist this callous assault on their freedom, remain peaceful and law abiding and be assured that Nigerians are with them in this trying moment.

“He therefore, calls on all Nigerians to, within lawful means, stand up to this brazen attempt to stifle the democratic space by a party that was the biggest beneficiary of defections, which is now jittery and clearly uncomfortable at the prospect of getting a dose of its own medicine,” the statement added.

The president of AS Roma, Jim Pallotta, has rejected Barcelona’s apology after the club snatch Malcom from their very eyes. According to Pallota, such was unethical considering the fact that the player had already done medicals with their club.
