The last time I check, this is football and it is not yet a crime to touch a referee, as long as you are not assaulting him physically. Also FIFA didnt have any rule against it either.

I need you and @raumdeuter to 'Soro Soke" after you read the article.

Premier League football, and the wider game in England, is known for being competitive and compelling, but also for its fairness and for being played in the right spirit.

However, the English football authorities have noticed over the past four seasons that intolerable behaviour by players and managers in their competitions have reached unacceptable levels in certain areas.

Therefore the Premier League, EFL and The FA have announced a collective undertaking to improve behaviour across the game.

Their undertaking will task the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) to take a stronger position and action towards unacceptable participant conduct.

This will focus on behaviour towards match officials, with the aim of reducing disrespectful conduct such as aggressively challenging decisions or running from distance to confront an official.

The PGMO will apply the Laws of the Game to manage rigorously the following incidents of bad behaviour with the following sanctions.

Dissent towards match officials

Yellow cards will be issued to players who:

Show visibly disrespectful behaviour to any match official
Respond aggressively to decisions
Confront an official face to face
Run towards an official to contest a decision
Offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures towards match officials

Red cards will be issued to players who confront match officials and use offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures towards them.

Physical contact with match officials

A yellow card for physical contact with any match official in a non-aggressive manner (e.g. an inquisitive approach to grab the official’s attention).
A red card for physical contact with match officials in an aggressive or confrontational manner.
Surrounding match officials

A yellow card for at least one player when two or more from a team surround a match official.
The FA will continue to sanction teams when they surround match officials.
Conduct in the technical area

Behaviour by players and club staff in the technical area will be more rigorously enforced
The requirements of the Technical Area Code of Conduct will be more rigorously enforced for players and club staff.
Additionally, match officials will be required to retain professional detachment from players and club staff at all times.
"We and our clubs have been discussing for some time concerns that certain elements of player behaviour are overstepping the mark and it is our collective position that these types of behaviour should no longer be tolerated,” Richard Scudamore, Executive Chairman, the Premier League said.

"Things happen in the heat of the moment during fast and highly competitive football; we still want to see the passion fans enjoy and demand, but players and managers have to be aware there are lines that should not be crossed.”

abeg don't let us mix it together, a male coach to his player, (whether male or female) he knows them, they are like family he is their manager, he has right to relate with them like father to child or like Oga to apprentice but in the case of that Aguero the lady in question is a total stranger, so like someone said he had crossed the line.

You have seen multiple images on this age where male players touched male referees and no one had an issue with it, Was it because Messi Pogba Aguero Ronaldo etc had a relationship with the referee?

This is Pep puting his hand round the neck of an opposition player and no one had an issue with it because they are both men

If females want to participate in the male game and vice versa then this should be addressed or it should be stopped and each sex mind their sports to avoid all these sensitive issues

Dayo you and I live in the US and know that a male dressing room does not necessarily mean a safe zone for the men! Male to male arguments makes absolutely no sense in today's world. The kind rubbish and disgusting stories I have heard from boys scout, sports locker room, priests (So you know, I am proud Catholic) and other stuff makes me trash that Lamba into the bin. Boundary na boundary!

You are comparing catholic priests act with underage boys with what adult sportmen are doing in the locker room. In many male dressing room, many people pull down to their underwears and dont have to be self conscious.

Just like in a female dressing room they probably strip down and do acts they are comfortable with around fellow females which they wont do with male. If a man wants to be a part of that female group or activity, he has to be the one to adjust and not the girls

To avoid this, Is it better to make sure male and female are very separate?

Its like a boy going to a female locker room and you are asking them not to remove their tops like they always do. If that is them maybe we should not allow men into female spaces and vice versa So we wont get uncomfortable
on point.

EndSARS to LGBTQ has no correlation imo.

Police brutality is illegal by default. EndSARS is protesting against illegal police activity.

If homosexuality was legal, but conservative Nigerians were running around shooting the gays, then I can see a case for protest.

In Nigeria, homosexuality is against the law. Nigeria is a democracy, which means that any law against homosexuality is based on the will of the majority. At least in theory.

That means that anybody who wants pro-gay legislation should follow the democratic process, and elect representatives of their agenda to the legislative.

Sneaking an agenda that most people don't support, into a movement that most people do is a dubious act.

It has more correlation than asking for Constitutional review, referendum and demand for 50% of young people to oversee a referendum, or asking for review and overhaul of all public agencies and education and health sectors and slashing of "the cost of Governance". Demands also include increase of Police Pay which is at odds with civil service pay structure as no one can arbitrarily increase the pay of a section of the civil service above another on same grade. This I'm quoting from the official list of demands, none of which are actionable and tied to any measurable output.

When you look at the unofficial lists including sack of service chiefs, resignation of an elected president etc, it is clear it has become a free-for-all for every pressure group to add mouth, so why homo go carry last? Their demand is actually actionable with the stroke of a pen, measurable, instantly verifiable and in line with most civilised countries best practice on human rights, and even closer tied to the original demand than any other.

And who said the majority of the country must support it for you to add mouth to the list of demands? Does majority of the country even have an inkling what those demands are talking about? They are free to join mouth like everyone else. Why must we chase them away because they are homo? Who even said majority of the country support 10 years penalty for homosexual activity? Maybe in the North, but if it's by numbers, most of the North will vote to keep SARS so all protest is therefore illegitimate if it's by support.

Despite all these laws, players still touch referees and these referees dont get offended or brandish cards. If this was a male ref, would we even be having this conversation?

Its like going into a female hostel or female space as a male and I am insisiting they must cover themselves because I am not comfortable with it

There was another case like 2 months ago. A male coach of PSG was hugging and touching his female player and it caused issues on the web

You can search for it PSG coach Olivier Echouafni and Sandy Baltimore

This is what Klopp does with his players regularly, How to avoid this is to ensure Male dont get involved with female especially in contact sports and vice versa

Imagine this West Ham Lanzini scoring that last minute equalizer, he removed his shirt and will jump on anyone at that time in hysteria, Imagine it was a female coach and he has to be worried about accusation of abuse at that time when he is not even thinking of his own safety

I have seen players remoe their shorts in excitement before

There are laws and you need to put things in place to ensure people dont cross the line. Despite the rule against inapropriate behavior, there is a reason most places separate male and female bathroom. Because they know we are all different. That is why I don't support bathrooms for everyone. Men are different from female

that rule was made more because of aggressive approach to the ref. In fact, it was made because of Diego Costa grin
Nigga was fond of harassing refs with his chest and getting away with it because there was no rule against it. There is women football. If they are not comfortable with what is normal and obtainable in normal men's football, then they should face the women football.

Women like to complain about everything.
If care is not taken one day we will all wake and have a situation where men and now hold protest for women to give them gender equality.

You are obviously deviating from your historical textualism school of thought especially as it relates to the interpretation of established laws/ rules. This is not about subjective scenarios, the rule is clear and when when she is well within her rights to enforce it.

From the rule perspective to the personal angle Aguero was wrong! Incase you did not read my previous comments, I did not think he had any ill intention when he did it, I hope he did not but it made her uncomfortable, this is outside of the fact that Aguero was breaking a rule. Whether the rule was established because of Benjani Mwaruwari, DCanio or D. Costa is inconsequential.. the fact is he crossed the line.

So far so good, the prayer walks has been successful, and I don't think it has given any rise to distrust or divide, instead, it has bought the movement more sentiments.

Even though I don't believe that their prayers can help Nigeria, I still find it as something good. Besides, the Muslims also did their prayers on Friday and the story so far from these religious acts is that we can co-exist peacefully.

On Friday, Muslim protesters prayed in the streets, guarded from thugs by Christians.

People don dey wise up to the fact that this is bigger than any one religion.

Overtly touchy about this issue you said? Because I think a player crossed the boundary and made a female ref feel uncomfortable with an unwelcome touch?
What kind of people do I even debate with here sef!!! Guy man, delete that stuff before you create a bad narrative for yourself.

There are boundaries that have to be respected young man! Whether male or female... it is that simple.. this is not the 18th century...

If a woman does not feel comfortable with any of your physical actions...as a man, a real G at that you don’t push it fam!!! If anything you apologize especially if you meant no harm!!

So because Sandy Baltimore is okay with being smacked in the butt by her coach means every lady on that PSG team would have no issues getting smacked on their butt? Guy make you try small.. abeg even if na small.

Comments like this are the reasons women misinterpret the intentions of men in different spheres of life, mostly as suppressive. The rule about making contact with officials is clear and the sort of contact Aguero made while without any ill intention crosses the line if it makes her uncomfortable.

A male/male contact is entirely different from a male/female contact. A female referee will not make that kind of contact with a male player so why should a player do that to a female.
