Hi all. Good morning.

Please, who has written the Stanbic IBTC Bank test for experienced recruits before or recently? I think it's being conducted on their behalf by Kimberly Ryan on Victoria Island. Please, anyone that have an idea of it should help me out. As in in what form is it and what is it like generally?

Thank you all for reading.

Kennyblues
,
I should think it depends on what you have applied for. I got invited for the test for later this week and was reliably informed that the test has been on for some time now. I was hoping there would be someone on here who had taken the test. Try and ask your friends, if any of them did apply.
Re: Bankers' Forum by Kennyblues(m): 12:58pm On Jul 13, 2010
Thanks Francescy. Anybody with information about IBTC interview please help a bro in need.

Pls, Does anyone know which bank is recruiting Students for Industrial Attachment? I've searched places for IT attachment but to know avail, if u do, kindly notify me asap. Thank you.
Re: Bankers' Forum by Francescy: 11:34am On Jul 14, 2010
Darayola,

Try applying to Diamond Bank Plc and First Bank Plc. But my guess is that you will have to approach someone at the branch in which you wish to do the IT. And that is where you will have to submit your CV. I hope this helps.

Good luck with your quest.

Cheers.

Please any retrenched banker on here? how are you faring at the moment?

,

bros, what do u mean by this question above?
are u jus a nu banker or jus a road side banker.
i am still in the work but, can never ask this kind of question u jus did. its quite bleeped.

PLEASE, PEOPLE LIKE U, were asked to leave the bank for no just reason and were not settled. and now they are out there with nothin much.

its not that they can meet up but this ur question was uncalled for. and unreasonable and immature and not like a trained banker to say.

be guided

Whats the meaning of this nonsense you posted? I am just asking a simple question to know the plight of retrenched bankers and what advice they have for those still in the profession. Of course i am aware of these bankers did nothing wrong but were sacked as a means of reducing cost . I really feel for them which was why i asked how they are faring so stop posting daft responses.

The fact that when a bank suffers from temporary capital inadequacy, (as the CBN alleges is the case with the eight banks) the first remedy is to call on shareholders to bring in fresh capital.
Unfortunately for our CBN Governor this simple fact was rocket science that took him 12 months to understand. This is after threatening, intimidating and cajoling shareholders, all in an attempt to make them give up their shareholding in these banks that were forcefully taken over by the CBN when a simple remedy action of recapitalization would have resolved the issue. Instead, the CBN has taken the Nigerian economy through several months of uncertainty and double standards.
While the CBN has given the option of recapitalization to ETB, Unity Bank and Wema Bank, it stubbornly denied shareholders of the other eight banks similar opportunity. The Governor remained adamant even when it became obvious to all discerning individuals that the economy cannot move forward until the issue of these eight taken over banks is fully resolved
It is the right of shareholders to decide whether to sell, go into partnerships or recapitalize their banks. It is not the business of the CBN as we have insisted on several times before now. The right of shareholders to recapitalize their banks does not affect the right of the CBN to regulate these banks. It is simply over zealousness for the CBN to determine who owns the banks that it seeks to regulate. It compromises the CBN if it seeks to bring in the investors to invest in the banks that it will regulate. Let the CBN seek to strengthen its regulations while the banks seek to strengthen their capital and operations to meet regulatory standards.
The CBN has already over-reached itself by appointing financial advisers for banks it did not own and even going ahead to negotiate with investors on behalf of the banks. These taken-over banks are quoted on a recognised and respectable stock exchange, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) not a casino as Sanusi will want us to believe.
The shareholders of these institutions are very much alive and willing to recapitalize their banks. The CBN has done its job by stabilizing these institutions; which have not only been stabilized, but they have returned to profitability. What the CBN should do next is hand over these institutions back to their hareholders at their next annual general meeting (AGM).
The CBN can give them the timeframe to recapitalize like it has done with Wema and Unity Bank.

I think , Bankers should be considering changing jobs and starting something else , they never get time for anything including being eith their families. Someone once said that ther is money there that is why they cannot leave the Job.

Coinsider this why make money you cannot enjoy freely . It is like forcing Agege bread down your throat. smiley
Re: Bankers' Forum by izibili5(m): 1:10pm On Aug 17, 2010
I think Bankers who are complaining about their job should go and look for another job, the pay is good but they complain about the work. it is like forcing agege bread down your throat because it is sweet

I retired from banking after 7+yrs of service, and
since I switch profession, I now make 2x (some-
times, 3x) what I make in a month when I was
in the banking sector.

This I achieve by running my own business consulting
outfit.

If you need my personal help in starting this business,
PM me.
