That's the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S3.... Probably the person you got it from edited the build.prop and changed the model to i9300...

What im saying is that my bro got a samsung s3 19300 second hand.
Now he gave me the phone to set. The phone has been rooted but no cwm installed. So entered download mode and in product name i saw SGH T999. I made further research and discovered that the phone is real international version of s3 not tmobile version. Im now confused because when i flashed cwm for 19300 it didnt work but when i tried dat of sgh t999 it worked but behind the battery 19300 was written there and also in the about of the phone the model is 19300. So im asking if the product name can be changed to 19300 so that 19300 firmware and cwm will work.

Forget the name you saw on the housing of the phone, might have been tampered with.. Everything might have been tampered with but not what you see as your product version in download mode.. This happened to be one of the tricks some fellas use to identify clones.. T999 is the version of your s3.you just gotta accept that.. By flashing i9300 on it and the phone experiencing a boot loop should tell you that also..

Barondegreat: please I need a help on how to browse with my phone on sites that work only with computers
Use a browser dat supports html5 because i see no reason why a phone's browser wont open sites. All websites are designed for both mobile and pc just dat the display of the site would be the difference.
I'm still waiting for one to clear me on this saga im in.

Let's end this once and for all.. You can also know your device type through your imei number.. Most carriers use this.. Go here.. www.imei.info/

Dude i believe you have been told the solution to that issue already a few times.

look for stock rom for the exact model and flash. the sim unlock should not be back, but if it does, the galaxysimunlock app on the playstore will deal with that.

Its enough posts on this issue already. hian

Foxfi should do the trick but since it's force closing try search for a different version and install... If all fails.. Try WiFi tether.. That should help I believe

I read somewhere a while ago, that at&t blocks all their phones from tethering through hotspot. It's built into the phones design.

don't you just need a custom kernel?

Get the Sqlite editor app
1) Under SQLite Editor find the app "Settings Storage
(com.android.prodivers.settings)"
2) Hit "settings.db"
3) Hit "system"
4) Search for the term "tether" in all fields
5) Set the vale of "tether_entitlement_check_state" to 0
6) Enjoy your ability to set up a mobile hotspot!

NB: your phone must be rooted.
