The actual report says that gunmen in uniform were responsible for the shooting. That has quickly been translated to mean Fulani herdsmen. That may well turn out to be true but who is oing to investigate , get the facts and present it to the country people? The answer is nobody.
Nigerians and the Nigerian government cannot be helping peace if every killing is assign to a group rarther than to individual criminal or a criminal gang or syndicate. To assing killings to a muslim group, to beroms or to Fulanis is just playing into the hands of the criminals. No criminal wants to be alone and vulnerable, they want a group cover to hide and mete their murderous acts on the innocent population. By calling them, Islamic sect, Fulani's ,Beroms, Boko Haram etc we are giving them that umbrella protction of a group. Boko Haram should just be called criminal murderers (because that is what they are) and they and their funders should be hunted and prosecuted and punished. The fact that they call themselves muslims should not be important unless we want to complicate matters. Same applies to the killers of the senator and all the those murdered.
Labelling criminals with names gives them a coporate image and the actual criminals remain faceless. Labelling them also attracts sympathy from the those sharing the brand name given to them.If you label unidentified killers as fulanis, the law abiding fulani man in katsina,pursuing his legitimate day to day acticvity and caring for his family is immediately brought in.He will either argue aginst the allegation or persive enemity from those giving the label. If however these are given their proper names "Criminals" - not many people will feel any sympathy. This name labels , we also know are meant to serve other purposes - exercebating enemity , creating mass anger and work steadily towards dismantling the country.

this animal grazing system of fulanis should be prohibited by middle belt states.they should either set up cattle ranch where their cattles can be confined or head back to kano and sokoto where they can continue their wandering livestyle with their cattle and stop causing problems for other tribes.

Grazing reserves in other coutries of the world are made by legislation and animal rearing as a huge potential sector for economic development would normally be well regulated and opened to modernization by any caring government. To say that the Fulanis dont want that is like saying my village dont want electricity because we enjoy using our bush lamps. Instead of all this politicking and paranoea , I will suggest that you tell the surviving senators to move towards people oriented legislation and for the executive to implement people oriented policies and the judiciary to do their work. This may solve not only the grazing reserve problem but also the lack of electricity supply in my village, and perhaps in yours too..
