Good morning gurus am having similar issue but mine temperature reading is normal on traffic with AC even if on for 6hrs, but my issue is on like lekki traffic the traffic light stop and go, then I notice temperature raising above operating middle range to 107-110©, if I switch off AC it cools down to normal range
NOTE no shortage of water in radiator, 2 cooling fan is connected direct with a 4 pin relay. Kindly assist. 10x

@ Gazzuzz, radautoworks, blackbishop, nurey and other gurus

Permit me to answer this mama Rad.

Boss the likely cause can be the Thermostat if still present,
Coolant temperature Sensor prolly but remote diagnosis wont work. You can ask mama rad for free diagnosis at her place

It's normal for the eco light to come on & off depending on your driving pattern.. The light comes on when you are driving "economically" & goes off when you are not..

Also quartz 5000 is not right oil for your car but since you talked about thermostat removed, I will assume you bought it naija used.. So just jejely continue using the quartz 5000 grin grin

Leave the transmission fluid alone oh, don't top up.. Whenever you are ready, drain & refill completely with GENUINE Honda DW-1 fluid

Liqui Moly 5w20 is great for Honda

I think your brake disc is the culprit for the vibrating steering. Change brake disc and brake pads. I dont know about your bent tyre.

Resounding YES. Looks good, great maneuverability which is a must in Lagos traffic, good on gas for a three row SUV, tons of features (recommend at least tech package) COMFORTABLE and RELIABLE.

Good day house

I bought a Honda Accord 2004 just last month and serviced with Total quartz 5000 (20w50) exactly what the previous owner uses.

The recommended oil is 5w20 as inscribed on the cap.

Question: is it possible I ask my Kazeem to uncouple the engine, drain/flush the engine with whatsoever substance, recouple and then fill with the recommended engine oil please?

He's also not sure of the brand of transmission oil used as at last fill, what do I do if I need refill?

Thanks all

Bad radiator, or bad fan or both

Did you get it as a 9ja used? Do you know the year it was imported? What oil the previous user(s) used?

Open the oil filler cap and look under it, is there sludge? Look into your engine’s valve through the oil hole, do you see sludge?

If you didn’t see any sludge in your engines top then you can try the recommended oil but a conventional type (Mobil 5w30 black cover) and new filter to first check for leaks and smoking ... drive for a while (3k kilometers) park overnight and in the morning check if the oil level dropped.

If there’s no drop in the oil level then you can decide to switch to the synthetic oil your engine recommends.

Remember to observe your oil level as you drive. It’s important. Also you can check your transmission oil too. If it’s still gauged smells okay and looks pinkish clear then leave it but if it seems dark and smells burnt then just purchase 3ltrs of the recommended DW1 transmission, drain 3 ltrs of your oil in the gear and replace with the new ones you bought. You can also get a new transmission filter too or clean out the old one along with the gear solenoids as you change the fluids.

Make sure you get a non abused one, if it is i4, you are good. Avoid the v6 of that particular honda.
What’s wrong with the V6?

All things being equal.

5w20 - better fuel economy
5w30 - better engine protection

I'd choose engine protection over fuel economy any day.

Been following this thread for a while. I own an accord 2009 v6. Noticed the check engine was always on. Had it scanned and I realized the thermostat was removed. Got a new one after reading on this thread as to how important it is. Just want to say thank to all the real mechs here. Now my question is basically me trying to know how best to maintain the car all round. I have serviced it once since purchase which was 2 months ago. With total qwat 5000. The mechanics say the gear all is still good but isnt gaged. Any recommendations? And i want to know if it’s normal for the eco mode to go on and off depending on how im accelerating cause i read it online and i see people complaining as to how it affects their engine. I’ll like to be educated on how best to maintain the car
That's the wrong oil. Don't touch your gear leave it. You need a specialist to do that. Anyone who would service a 2009 Honda with quartz 5000 is evil

If 5w30 will consume more fuel but protect my engine better then I'm standing with 5w30 God will keep providing fuel money that's cheaper than having to buy a new Engine soon

So I'm free to change from total quartz 5000 to 5w30 synthetic
