onila: the pic is a picture of a rich man and his wife. .what we call a trophy wifeyou are very dumb. that's the picture of a 70yr old man and a 20yr old girl. Also, a trophy is an object. She is being objectified by a perverted rich old man. She will not be 20 forever so she will be discarded very soon. just like a brand shiny new car that wears out. An object. What has Nigeria even got to do with the pic and the idea of sugar daddies? Except for the WORSE fact that most Nigerian men are broke but still expect their wives, and women in general, to be submissive? In fact, I am suspecting that you are actually a dumb MALE posing as a female. I can't believe a whole moderator like Afam2forever was co-signing on your senseless posts. onila: u, Zimbabwe n Ghanaian girls are guilty for chasing Naija d1ckI am 100% sure you are a MALE. I wish more people will open their eyes to this FACT and soon you will be exposed. MOBO MrCork and Onila are all one and the SAME PERSON. |
this is silly. those TSA folks are just looking for scape-goat "terrorists" to show that they are doing their work. "unspecified threat" my azz. aka all they are doing is probably finding terror where there is none. I'm sure anybody who mentions 9/11 in public can be arrested and charged for terrorism. esp if they are non-white or foreign. the igbo guy's offense is probably simply that he got angry and was probably running his mouth and mentioned 9/11. ![]() |
ogugua88: The other day we saw a thread complaining about fast food being unhealthy. Now slow food has dead nutrients. I just confuse.are you serious? lol fruits and vegetables lose their nutrients when cooked for too long or too hot. the comparison to fast food makes no sense because fast food is processed food and processed food simply means food that has been cooked to such extent that it loses most of its nutrients. ex deep fried, treated with extremely high heat etc. so they are all the same. just that fast food is made in large quantities and sold. sort of like naija party food. a normally cooked pot of stew where the tomatoes and peppers still have nutrients in them will go bad quicker (it will spoil and sour in about one week in the fridge). whereas a pot of stew that fried and spend hours on the stove will take longer time to go bad. mac donalds fries i'm sure can probably last months without going bad . that's how u know that there's no nutrients in it. because even bacteria doesn't like it!! Besides it being un-nutritious, it is actually BAD and dangerous for you. deep fried foods taste good but contain free radicals that can lead to disease and damage to health. people eat fruits and salads (or lightly steamed vegetables) as anti-oxidants that fight free radicals. OP has a seriously valid point. For me, I don't cook my stew for hours. mba. It tastes good yes. but I know it's not healthy. I only make those kind of stews on occasion or have them at naija owambe parties. |
bukatyne: They don't have to.GBAM. it's so funny how people know so little about feminism that they assume all feminist share the exact same ideas. all feminist have the same GOAL of gender equality but there are many views to take on it. but as long as the goal/vision is the same of gender equality then it falls under the umbrella of feminism. bukatyne: I have said that putting women in certain positions because they are women is actually an insult as you are indirectly saying 'women do not have the ability to excel, hence let us dash them a, b, c'I will disagree with you on this one. Ever heard of such thing as "old boys network" or "old boys club"? at the end of the day (aka in reality), networks and connections often triumphs meritocracy. So, women should be given the opportunity in areas where they are underrepresented due to the fact that they are often shut out of these networks and connections. ie. women will NEVER be equal to men in certain professions if they are not given the leg up. same applies to men in female dominated profession ex. if the CEO of the company and all the upper level directors are all men then the likelihood that they will pick a female to become a director is very low. this is not about merit but more about the way things work in reality. the "equal chance" you talk about DOES NOT EXIST in reality. a poor child usually doesn't have a equal chance as a rich child. that's why things like financial aid scholarships exist for poor students in some places. or affirmative action for minority groups etc. these are all well intentioned programs that try to offset the fact that not everyone has equal chance and opportunity. I don't understand your last sentence. Men are not more intelligent than women and neither are women more intelligent than men. So if men are always winning, then in my opinion, something needs to be searched and analyzed to figure out why and how to make things better. I mean why do we need feminism in the first place if it's ok for women to be losers? the whole point of feminism is to uplift women from our subordinate position in society. we are not losers. there shouldn't be a winner vs loser. |
Happy married life! your hubby doesn't look very happy though. does he know that he's supposed to smile? ![]() |
Seun Osewa should watch out because very soon, Nairaland might show up on the SPLC as a hate-website. That will be very bad news. Seun should do something about Black Kenichi (who is not even a Nigerian to begin with. He is an African American who is looking for platform to spread his misogyny and hate). http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2012/spring/misogyny-the-sites I am amazed at how he pretty much sits on this thread 24/7. |
omonnakoda: Not true,Georaphically SE is Taraba Beneue,Part of Kogi ALL the Ibo states and some of Rivers.whatever floats ur boat https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/46/Nigeria_Cross_River_State_map.png/250px-Nigeria_Cross_River_State_map.png |
adconline: Point of correction! Tinapa is not in SE but SS-Calabar.I was quoting CNN. Go and write a letter to CNN to complain. Besides, The idea of Igbo as a SE region is geographically incorrect since Cross Rivers is actually the South Eastern most state on the map. So this is just a technical misunderstanding by CNN looking at it from a geographical standpoint rather than an ethnical/tribal standpoint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkzCiTQfQ_k |
SUBMARINE: Although Christ told us to pay our tax, I believe a wise govt should avoid taxing businesses of religious organizations, seeing it as their way of apprenciating God's mercy. This attitude from people like you is what makes Nigeria corrupt. So Dangote should now go and open church or mosque so that he can avoid taxes on his business? |
Thanks everyone for posting and commenting. What I have summarized is that Tinapa wasn't a bad project but just needs time and more investments -particularly private investment to grow. The place is certainly very beautiful (Thanks for the pics, Horus). dunno why it's not more patronized that it is. I still think that location matters though. A resort like that would have done much better in a city like Lagos (or maybe onitsha like some people said). This makes me wonder how well Eko Atlantic will perform. Eko Atlatic is also being hyped at the moment. Let's hope it doesn't fail. |
There is nothing new or innovative about the idea. The hostel market is very big in Europe. It's a cheap alternative to a hotel. It sounds very uncomfortable but if it's cheap,i'm sure it will be profitable. Just that not a lot of people own airplanes. And most people who own airplanes are rich and preoccupied enough that they don't need a hostel business. What I wonder is how he got a permit to locate his hostel on airport grounds. Because this will be an open invitation for other rich guys who are going broke to start using their airplanes and private jets as "hostels" https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/00/School_Bus_Hostel.jpg/800px-School_Bus_Hostel.jpg |
well, 90% of them are Igbo. I can't blame SA. Even Nigerians are deporting them out of their states ![]() |
the "garri" cabal has been reincarnated in the form of the "end time tinz" cabal. watch out. |
Tinapa was a HUGE multi-million dollar project that was supposed to "jump-start the economy in SE Nigeria". Why did it fail? It should have been built in Lagos instead. what a waste of money. At the end of the day, building airports, malls and big buildings are not guaranteed to be successful if the right conditions aren't met. ie if enough people aren't willing to patronizing it. Does anyone know if Tinapa is getting better now? |
good plan. hope they follow through. Does anyone know how things are going with Tinapa? |

chuksme: She ate what she wanted. The result is very great.who told you she asked for it? she's a 14 yr old child for christ sake. most likely r.aped! this child is 14yrs old. Why do they have her picture in the article? where is he guy's picture? is this meant to shame her or what? she is a 14yr old child 4 Christ sake. soon we will hear about suicides. she was most likely r.aped. Having a child at 14 is enough trauma to begin with let alone having her pic on a national newspaper. where are child protection services to protect this girl from the media? |
ridiculous why do they have her pic on there? |
