Seun:
I think we are more likely to regret someone like Buhari whom we know little about. We already know Jonathan's strengths and weaknesses from his time as the president. I don't see why we should regret or be surprised about anything later on.
Why not speak for yourself instead of blindly generalizing?
If you know little or nothing about someone, the history books are there. What we knoe of GEJ is enough to throw the Otuoke cowboy behind bars and let him rot there for the rest of his life if the nation were to have functional organs in the Judiciary. Only in Nigeria would one witness the celebration of mediocrity. BTW, from your comments it's obvious you know next to nothing about GEJ hence your blind support. I've known the inept man for more than a decade and can probably write a book on GEJ's malfeasance while holding any position of power.

Fellow BBers,
Considering the massively rigged results in most rural areas in the north in favor of PDP, I think we need to re-stratgize and concentrate our efforts mainly on two areas:

Primary: Mobilizing members within and outside this group to volunteer as pollen agents for the BB team across as many as possible rural areas in the North-West and North-East.

Secondary: Continue with the CPC logo campaign. This is no longer urgent as it is obvious that even Northerners recognize the log as votes were casted massively for CPC candidates, but PDP has managed to force the slow release of the results to enable rigging to take place in connivance with INEC RECs.

Let's run out the jingles we have paid for and if we have any cash left, I'll advice we use it to sponsor logistics. I will be paying my next batch of contribution staight into the CPC GTBank account. If we need to raise more money, I should still be able to push myself a bit further.
PoliticsRe: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by 9ijaMan: 9:49am On Apr 11, 2011
Feelers from the North is that the electorates are still solidly behind Buhari, the NASS results not withstanding. The PDP NASS members who won in the north I understand played on the little or no level of enlightenment amongst the electorates apart from monetary inducements. PDP candidates pasted their posters side-by-side with Buhari's posters and claimed Buhari had endorsed them. CPC swept the votes in the urban centers and major cities while the PDP used money, deception and votes manipulation in conjunction with INEC staffs to tilt the elections in their favor.

Some northern states from my understanding are already having widespread protests as the figures announced by INEC's REC are not in tandem with the actual votes casted in some parts those states.

We should therefore not be discouraged to forge ahead.

^^See your life. When we tell you people to educate yourself about your country; you won't. The distances in the North are huge as you can see from the maps. It takes longer to collate results from more remote areas, for example in some parts of Borno, election materials were transported using horses.
Why are you this crass? How about the use of donkeys and camels?

How come INEC has hurriedly released figures in the SW states and all the states PDP is expected to win. The results from the major core northern states are still very sparse. Something fishy is happening o! PDP rigging machine has been set in motion!
PoliticsRe: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by 9ijaMan: 7:28pm On Apr 10, 2011
I've been wondering how the results from the north have not been announced yet. It's kind of funny that the figures from the SW have almost all been released while he figures from the north are not coming out yet! Something fishy is happening.

So that means Buhari fans have been decieving us all this way because if they go through the threads in the politics section, you would see that pretended that cpc to outperform every other party in all the elections that they have candidates it.
Apparently you've been reading the thread with your PC turned upside down! Show me the thread where BB supporters have claimed CPC was going to will all polls in the north. Several time I have personally stated that PDP will more than likely win the governorship race in Kano state, but the electorate will vote en-mass for CPC in the presidential election.

9 federal constituencies declared in Kaduna out of a total of 16 seats. Source Channels TV on YouTube streaming live.

Out of the 9 declared seats.
CPC - 6 seats
PDP - 3 seats

The web site you provided has some wrong information. David Mark (PDP) won the Benue South Senatorial seat, while that web page is showing ACN as the winner.

What exactly is happening in the North. No info yet from the core northern states?

I doubt PDP will be a distant third, the power of iincumbency, the aroma of 'divine' Jonathan,

I've heard a lot of people say they'll be voting personality not parties, probably explains( or doesn't explain PDP's losses this weekend),

As far as personality goes, one can't deny GEJ is more 'sellable' to the undecided,

Whatever may come, this has to be the most unpredictable and interesting election in Nigeria, things could change between today and next week.

- Would there be more bombings?
- Would there be a merger bw AC and CPC?
- Would more voters turn out than did today?
I see your point though. However, you should note that it's voting for personality as against party that still gave PDP some NASS wins in the core north. If the electorate in the north votes personality, then CPC will sweep the polls in the north. We cannot simply claim that the electorate will vote personality in one section of the country and the suddenly vote parties in another part.

You'll laugh louder when the full list of the new NASS is released. With CPC winning most sits in the north and ACN clearing at least 5 states in the SouthWest, it's obvious PDP is losing grounds. Meanwhile most of those who voted PDP in the north for NASS will be switching to CPC for the presidential, excluding states like Kwara (unfortunately), Benue and perhaps Plateau states.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by 9ijaMan: 3:51pm On Apr 10, 2011
With the manner in which the opposition parties have decimated the ruling party, PDP, I will certainly not be surprised if a run-off in the presidential elections ends up being between CPC and ACN.
PoliticsRe: Outcome Of Presidential Election: What Do You Expect? by 9ijaMan: 3:50pm On Apr 10, 2011
Although I voted yes for the possibility of a run-off election. I need to clarify that the run-off will likely be between CPC and ACN. GEJ and his PDP will likely be at a distant 3rd position in the first round of the election. CPC will likely have the most votes but not enough spread. ACN will have higher votes than PDP but with inadequate spread too. PDP may manage to get close to the spread requirements but fall short in the total votes figure. My thoughts!

The fact is that the oppositions are really not strong in Kwara state. Most of the opposition candidates don't even reside in the state.

GEJ is not a good man he is a coconut head and the grandmaster of thieves. He runs a government based on settlement. He has settled some of our stars in the entertainment industry and they are now singing his song and some of our gullible people are buying it.

GEJ chose Jega because then he was still basking in the euphoria of his massive support by Nigerians because of his persecution by Turai (the first unofficial female president of Nigeria) and her cabal. He never would have predicted that by now his popularity would have waned. He was also very weak then and was under pressure from Nigerians and western countries to appoint a candidate that would be perceived as credible. He needed to do this to gain some trust and popularity and it worked for a while. For me, it is God that made things to play out the way they did. If GEJ had more time to settle down before appointing the INEC chairman perhaps we would have been singing a different song by now. GEJ wherever he is will be regretting and wondering what is going on.

But if he can successfully pull-this-off, history will perhaps judge him well. Leadership position is not a gift to be given out as a reward. It is a position of responsibility and only responsible people should be leaders.
True words.
Folks should not get too excited until INEC start releasing official results. INEC not released a single one. PDP, as we all know can rig judgement day results. they can still rig at those INEC collation centers.

We have no video no live reports from those centers and I find that unfortunate considering the much advertised promise of openness.
Chief INEC RECs have been announcing elections results. I've been watching Channels TV's live stream on YouTube and listened to a correspondent along with the Niger state REC confirming the figures of two House of Rep winners. One from CPC and the other a PDP candidate who happens to be an incumbent. If you read through the thread on pages 21-23, you'll find that the figures were being posted based on RECs announcements on NTA.

This is not a question of people's mind changing. People have made up their minds to vote GEJ even before this extra achievement. Let the final results come out. Compare the total votes cast and spread for each party after that, you can start crying. The presidential election is about votes and spread. PDP is the most visible party in the nation. They have competed everywhere and emerged either as 1st or second. Even without adding the votes from other associated parties, PDP has the highest votes cast.

Enjoy this special number as you wait for the final result cheesy:
What you have failed to realize is that no one in the core north will be voting GEJ. The fact remains that PDP has been roundly decimated in the NASS elections. If I were you, I'd not raise my hopes about GEJ getting more than 25% of the votes PDP members may have managed to get in the NASS election.

ACN: 34
PDP: 10
…APGA: 9
LP: 8
ANPP: 6
According to your post, 82 seats has been occupied remaining 27 seats. This is really good news.

Thank you for this information. Thisday gave the following projections in their pool publications to favour their PDP pay masters. They are all now in total shame.

SENATE ELECTION OUTCOME ACCORDING TO THISDAY POOL.
PDP 35 SEATS
ACN 17 SEATS
CPC 9 SEATS
ANPP 4 SEATS
ACCORD PARTY 1 SEAT
DPP 1 SEAT
TOO CLOSE TO CALL 42 SEATS.
TOTAL 109 SEATS.

Now we know better.
Adding Ifeleke's figures shows that 90 seats (and not 82 seats as you stated) have been occupied. There are only 19 more seats to be declared.

I escaped been lynched today by PDP guys who accused me of trying to video happening at the polling booth. It was really crazy, b/c I was not saying anything against anybody. As a matter of fact, I was gisting and chatting with the pdp guys just before then. They seized my phone but could not see any video recording in my phone. If not for good rapour I have with a politician there, those boys carried planks and are ready to beat me. One of them even carried hammer. They accused me I was recording because I am not an indigene of the area. I stay in ND but from SW. God have mercy on us. Terrible, terrible really!!! Pls don't ask me what the securities guys are doing because  they were just looking. Really terrible, I must confess. I just cats my vote and was waiting for them to start counting and not doing anything even though I saw people voting two times and they refused to give number of accredited in the unit. The incident really saddened me about how people can just go against you simply because you are not one of them. Again, one boy that knew me as a SW person, had to bundle me away in his car secretly. There is no law in this country really and we have a long way to go. May God save Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged voters to send reports of counting of ballots to it by SMS.

INEC said in a posting on its Twitter page, “As counting commences, ensure you send SMS Reports to 0813832-7889, 0812-728-0713.

“Take a legible picture of the results sheet in order to prevent changes or modifications.

“Send results. Include PU number and vote count per party. Take legible pictures of the result sheet.”
