ranlaen: israel is not the problem.russia can probably erase israel from the face of the earth before israel can blink.russian anti missle system will handle the small nukes israel has. the issue is usa if they attack russia and russia attacks back then its game over for all of us ,thats why russia will not interfer nuclear wise in a iran- israel conflict peroid.if it was russia vs israel then i am sure russia will pretty much win with almost no damage using nukes. even using conventional weapons we saw what they are capable of doing by bringing the heavily equipped georgia by USA to its knees in a few days, couple of years ago. usa cannot contain afghanstan or iraq in nearly 10 years. At last some one with some brains finally makes a contribution. Thanks dear for telling them. I couldn't help but laugh in efik when someone said Isreal will wipe out Russia. Some are even saying Russia's military influence is waning. A lot of these babies need to use Professor Google to do adequate research and understand the equation of world powers. I'm equally glad that the man and his wife have not actually insisted on having cash only as earlier reported. Doing some maths, GEJ alone has handed out almost 9% of the total number of awards despite being Nigeria's president for less than 4% of the entire period since independence (that's also including the remnant of UMYA's years).
At this rate GEJ will exceed all other previous presidents combined by the end of his 4th year in office. |

Boko Haram: We advice Nigerians and the general public not to come to "TK Market" this Saturday. We will be registering our grievances with the Federal Government in a new style - we should not be blamed if anything happens to you. Please stay away.
FG: For where! We encourage every Nigerian who want to go to "TK Market" this Saturday to go about their normal business. Nothing will happen. We are ahead of the situation. No problem at all.
What will you do? I'd definitely sit at home. Only numbskulls like GEJ will make attempt to go out. Unfortunately GEJ is at least wise enough to stay put in Aso Rock. Nigeria is safe, yet he's attending to all state functions within the 4 walls of Aso Rock. He couldn't even make it for his Brother's wedding. |

Litmus: Since so many posters are vociferous in their belief that the president is lying when he argues Nigeria is safe for visitors could we have evidence please of crime and violence perpetrated on visitors ?
When you're done i will post evidence of crimes and violence against visitors to the US, Britain, China, France South Africa so we all can compare and come to a conclusion if the President is relatively correct or incorrect in his claims. My friend in my line of work, I have foreign colleagues who were kidnapped and released after the company paid ransom money. I have also met numerous foreigners who were also kidnapped and some even tortured. To this day I still spend minutes and sometimes hours trying to explain why Nigeria is not as bad as their media paints us. Suggesting the GEJ is not lying can only be likened to saying UMYA is still Nigeria's president. |

0lumide: I created a thread and said GEJ is acting clueless not because he is clueless! It is all by design!
Already, we know we have a drug problem in the North -- The article talks about drugs in Niger (border to North of Nigeria)
Already Boko Haram isn't attacking those they claim to be against (government), instead they attack innocent people,
Already, MOSSAD is in Aso Rock
Anybody remember how clueless GWB was? Yes that's right what's the similarity between him and GEJ?
GWB: They are jealous of our "freedom" GEJ: Thy are manipulating our new found "freedom"
GEJ: Terrorist attack after he became president GWB: 9/11 after he became president
GEJ: Seen as clueless by Nigerians GWB: seen as dumb by Americans
Intelligence is key people. GEJ is being manipulated. Look even if GEJ was a good guy which I doubt, he is powerless as long as he has bought and paid for politicians,
Destroying a generation all for money ? Please it has to be something greater than money!! Are GEJ and his bunch of advisers to dumb to know he's being manipulated? |

Every government in any part of the world will always give reasons for their failure. On of the most common excuse is as you've stated above, that there's always a group working hard to undermine the performance of the president. A president who knows his onions will still forge ahead and let posterity judge him. A good leader does more of listening and acting than talking. Unfortunately GEJ is all mouth and talk with no walk. |

amstamon: As each day goes by, Jonathan proves more and more that he is a Presient without a mind if his own. Without a doubt, nominating Bode George's wife is not his own idea. It's some other people or group's idea and somehow they have been able to make Jonathan carry out their wishes.
Makes you wonder, does the man care nothing about his already battered image and reputation?
Nigeria is in trouble with this Jonathan at the driver's seat, steering the wheel of the nation. Why are you trying to hold brief for GEJ. If it's not GEJ's idea, then whose idea is it? Afterall Patience was at Bode George's house to welcome him home from prison. Patience was surely there to represent her husband na, ! |

egift: Sorry but I still disagree on the problem being a "passing phase" - It will never pass away until someone at the helm of Affairs (say Jonathan) kick and fight against it head long.
In fact the problem will keep increasing and changing handlers and agents, until some fights it - I tell you it will be brutal - Its not for non-principled or faint hearts.
The problem of Jonathan is hoping it will just go away and his decision not to offend anyone even if its the right thing he is about doing. We just said the same thing in bold but in different ways. I stated that "The greed and looting will end some day, when we are all ready to stop the lootocrats in their tracks." It cannot be left to the person at the helm of affairs alone. We all have to collectively fight against greed and curroption. Reuben Abati fell flat despite his acclaimed years of being on the side of the masses. I do no hold brief for any of them though, it's just that corruption is a cancerous disease which can only be fought as a group and not as individuals alone. My reason for support people like GMB all along 'cos I know he's got the knack to surround himself with people who are also averse to corruption. |
Politics › Re: Don't Blame Gej, Blame The System by 9ijaMan: 7:27am On Nov 17, 2011 |
egift: I agree with the underlined.
But I incline to disagree with the bolded. Our main problem in Nigeria is perpetual greed of the ruling elite that have resulted to furthering the interest of the ruling elites and keeping the poor at their place.
Nigerians masses are unable to fight back on the greed of the ruling class because they the ruling elites have put in place various plans that fight back the masses. egift: Some of the weapons of the ruling class against any revolt from the masses include: - Divide the people along ethic lines. - Religious tags. - Infiltrate the protest and sabotage it. - Criminalize the effort - Use of excessive brute force that many will not even dear to join - Even may hijack the entire process.
@9ijaMan: In as much as I believe that there "still have hope in the country", I do not believe "our collective struggle to move the nation forward" is the problem - but its our ruling elites (e.g. GEJ and his current admin) that are empowering a system of governance that is perpetually keeping Nigerians in their poor and under-developed state. Sorry my brother I probably wasn't clear enough. Our problem is definitely not "our collective struggle to move the nation forward". What I meant was that these problems we are currently facing is a " passing phase" in our struggle to improve our nation. The greed and looting will end some day, when we are all ready to stop the lootocrats in their tracks. |
