Beaf:
So far, aside from Akpanudoedehe, all the political terrorists that have been nabbed in Nigeria happen to be 90% core-Northerners.
The truth is bitter. Just look at Jos for example.

If we are tired of the bombing from their "born to rule" mentality, then we are better off seeking immediate steps to cut them lose. they can take their practices into Niger or their own country.
Yeye boy. Abeg start giving us their names!

Beaf:
Maybe it isn't yet obvious to you that the number of bombs and political killings in the North far outweighs anything MEND has ever thrown at the country. When the people aren't throwing rocks, they are setting off bombs; and when they aren't setting off bombs, they are using some fake Boko Haram assassins from Chad and Niger to finish off opponnents.

We are simply tired of the "born to rule" mentality of the core-Northern elite. In a some less civilised countries, the likes of Ciroma would have been shot like Boko Harams Yusuf long since.
Beaf at his best again. Oozing and dripping lies from every corner of his mouth. It is on record to date that the only organization that has owned up to at least one of the series of bombings remains MEND. We are also aware that MEND also sent some messages less than 2 weeks ago to detonate bombs again. If your clueless president is not fit to rule, he should perhaps hand over to someone who's more capable. 7 bombings and still counting yet not a single person has been brought to book. The questions we should asking ourselves should be: How many bombing case  which involved mass murder were recorded during UMYA's era? How many such cases did the nation withness during OBJ's time? These were equally PDP presidents who at least managed maintain some level of security.

May the soul of those who departed this world rest in eternal bliss.

Thanks Bro. I've been spending most of my time in the politics section of NL.  'Cos I strongly believe we need a complete change of direction from the 12 years of misrule of the PDP government. If Nigeria works and the discipline is instilled in the average Nigerian, most of us in diaspora will not be scared of having anyone at home handle our projects for us. If all the arms of government are functioning properly, most of us here will not necessarily need a 9ijaman to share his own experience.

Nonetheless, I do appreciate your post, in fact my head don dey swell sef! grin grin grin

Like it or not, Buhari needs to sit back and learn from his fellow "role models" and  "mentors". As it is, IBB and OBJ are smarter men than Buhari. The others know when to draw the sword. Buhari does not! And that is why he has always been the loser. He is like an old man playing in the sand with little children. This time, he will get plenty of sand in his eyes.

I have made reference to history AS IT IS WRITTEN. Anyone who studies the history with an open mind will discover the same facts. The purpose of all this is simple. Buhari is far from the "superman" some have acknowledged him to be. Bakare is also far from the "messiah" that some have worshiped him as. A lizard will not become an alligator even if you put it inside water. It will only swallow water and swell up. What Buhari could not do for us in the 80's he cannot do for us today. I do not expect you to change your opinion but I know someone will read what I am writing and get the essence of the message. We cannot recycle something out of nothing. It is time to make a clean break from the past and move ahead. Let's end this perambulation and leave the wild wild dreams these folks are presenting to us. We should face the real issues and leave fantasies behind.
I thot I begged you not to continue to exude ignorance. Everyone knows you support GEJ and since you want to leave fantasies behind, kindly tell us how GEJ, who has been part and parcel of the 12 years of PDP's misrule, now personifies the "clean break"?

You may decide to close your eyes from Buhari's past records, but you certainly cannot shut the eyes of others. I maintain here as I've said on other threads, including this same one before now, that Buhari's 4 years as PTF chairman gave Nigeria and Nigerians more infrastructural development that GEJ and the PDP have done for the last 12 years. Until you prove that to be false, you have no case at all.

You carefully dodged the human rights part and jumped on the economy. Well I'll spare that and play along. On the economy, Buhari failed woefully and remember that it isn't only the "white man" who said so. Watch the video again. From 1:06 to 1:20 Brig Gen Joshua Dogonyaro (a "black Nigerian"!) also commented on the government's economic perambulation. One thing is sure; you cannot change history. It is written all over the history books and in the minds of those who witnessed the Buhari era. Buhari is a mirage and he has nothing else to give Nigerians. He is EMPTY and EXPIRED. His ways are outdated and ineffective. His VP is as inconsistent as a reed. Theirs is a failed team. The good thing is many other well meaning Nigerians KNOW so too.
Why do you still want to keep pursuing the path of dishonor and lies. Ho would you expect Dogonyaro to extoll Buhari. Was Dogonyaro not part of IBB's team that overthrew Buhari? So what exactly do you expect from him? Sanusi was never part of IBB nor Buhari's regime and the comments of a neutral observer like him is more credible that comments from those who stood to gain from running Buhari down.
On human rights issue, abeg name a single who did not commit any crime that was punished during Buhari's regime. Just one individual!

Buhari's VP made a comments some years back and he's been man enough to come clean on it stating clearly that he's now met with the man and understands him better. Bakare accepted that he made the comment out of ignorance. At least Bakare is humble enough to accept his faults, how has GEJ fared in this regard?

If you lack adequate knowledge on issues, do more research and stop being choosy on what suits your ego and warped understanding of politics in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Why You'll Never Vote For Muhammadu Buhari? by 9ijaMan: 9:18pm On Apr 07, 2011
nagoma:
On the 6th of March 1996 Buhari was in Lagos to flag off the first and the biggest water supply PTF project for the Lagos Iju waterworks rehabilitation at a cost of N1,050,015,651.00 (one billion and over 50million naira) and the Lagos. This included the support for the provision of administrative structure to support the Lagos state water corporation. The whole aim of PTF as Buhari said was to support the Lagos Govt and its world Bank project to ensure the supply of 137 million gallons of water per day for the city of Lagos.
He (Buhari) said on that day " With the important position of Lagos as the financial capital of Nigeria and former seat of government our ability to meet water requirement in the city will enhance our national pride "(please note that Buhari is always talking about Nigeria not one person or the other.) He also said that " , water revenue from large population of consumers will improve loan repayments effort of Lagos water coporation and improve the coporations credibility, ".

On the 5th of August 1997 Buhari was again in the SW in Ibadan to launch the N631,913,818.90 support for the Ibadan water supply project to support the ADB effort in that city. This was managed by indigenous NW consultancy services in which Buhari said on that day " , PTF pays special attention to institutional capacity building and strengthening, to ensure sustainability of the projects."Please note that the water department of PTF was not headed by someone from SW and no lobby was needed for Buhari to do the necessary - all other zones received support with water supply efforts but none got as much as the SW . There were of course more places in the SW itself such as the Oke Aleji water project.

The SW because it has more tertiary heath facilities and had 90% of all drug manufacturing outfits in Nigeria benefitted much more than any zone as PTF went out to strengthen each drug manufacturing outfit in Nigeria to ensure self sufficiency and minimize capital flight and conserve foreign reserve. Please note that there was not a single drug manufacturing factory in Buhari's state - Katsina or in the nearby Zamfara,Jigawa,Kebbi or Sokoto . There were one or 2 that qualified in Kano but 99% were in the south and over 90% inlagos and Ogun- Otta, Agbara,Badagry ,Ilupeju etc. This was never a problem for Buhari as these were in Nigeria and the focus is national capacity rehabilitation.

Buhari is for all Nigerians and and the simplicity of his lifestyle and the desire to see Nigeria taking its proper position in the committee of Nations appeal to me.

I will assume that you are referring to me. and you want an internet link to verify what i wrote.

Before I go on to verification I need to tell you that I was there when all these happened and more. There were of course thousands of other people who are aware and perhaps millions who benefitted. I have given you figures, dates, places and names of organization and you will please feel free to cross check. I will also suggest that you contact the following people who are Public figures and fully aware with what I said here and will even tell you more.
1. Raji Rasaki - who was then the governor of Lagos
2. Chief Adebayo Oyero - an Ibadan technocrat and one time city coucil Chairman in Ibadan.
3. Professor Dora Akunyili
4. Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa who was at that time the president of the Pharmaceutcal Manufacturers association of Nigeria and has even reached greater heights now.
5. Dr. Joe Odumodu - Who is now the DG Manufacturers association of Nigeria.
6. Egr.  Emmanuel Egbabe - a water engineer who is now a Senior Adviser to the President GEJ.
7. Engr. Anthony Ozodinobi - who is now the Permanent Secratary Federal Ministry of Housing.

The late Chief Rufus Giwa of blessed memory was an important stakeholder as a member of the PTF board he worked closely with the Buhari and the board to see these happen. I am sure if CPC was to win , Bakare will work even more closely with Buhari.

I will also refer you to a book; "Buhari- the PTF Years"published in 1999 by Spectrum books, Ibadan in association with Safari books of Jersy Channel island UK. The whole book( 389 pages) will be most useful but specifically pages 165-176 in Chapter 6 will help you with my posting. Also chapter4 pages 99 to 115.
I am ready to provide you with more information if you want. The internet is a great revolution for information sharing , unfortunately anything can be written on any subject and may not necessarily be true . It is the best medium for cheap propaganda and the dissemination of false information so giving you a link does not prove anything at all.
Excellent and very informative posts. I'll search for the book on the web. If I find it, I'll grab a copy immediately.

I certainly believe you do not leave in this country or you dont have eyes or worst you are abnormal. The PDP you are referring to whose former members who caused all the problems and reputation for them are now full time members in CPC and ACN. So no party is holy here. That 12years of democracy nothing to offer reiterates that you leave in moon. Certainly as a nation we are far off from our targets but there are a lot of things to show that if not for democracy we could not have achieved them.
Your Buhari destroyed democracy and played a role in ABACHA regime. He told Nigerians that Abacha did not steal money while in power. One day he will tell us Abacha did not kill Saro Wiwa in 1995.  His statements are always geared towards inciting violence. Let him tell the world how elections are rigged  not just an open ended accusation.
Yes Buhari played a significant role in Abacha's regime. In case you are not aware the achievements of that role played by Buhari under the despotic Abacha are by far superior to whatever GEJ and PDP may have achieved in 12 years. Buhari's PTF provided more developmental infrastructure in about 4 years than what Nigerians have witnessed in 12 years of PDP's misrule.

So what exactly is your point?

There really isn't anything that will be standing in GEJ's way if he wants to run again in 2015, assuming he wins this one in 2011. GEJ will almost certainly run again in 2015, if there is still an entity called Nigeria left by then. He has after all betrayed every single agreement he signed in the past, so why would GEJ find it difficult to breach another agreement?

Jingles sponsored by this thread is now on Wazobia FM Lagos, Wazobia FM PH and Cool FM Lagos.

As for Splash FM, Ibadan, I have paid them 120,000 for 6 slots, 2 per day for three days. They said in compliant with the NBC directive, they will not be able to air any political jingle, ours inclusive, Friday and Saturday, and to my surprise on Sunday too. I said no wahala, tehy said it will start on Monday. So expect our jingle on air on Splash FM Ibadan from Monday next week.

Our Yoruba version is also ready, it was played for me and very nice, but I rejected it because they did not describe CPC logo in Yoruba in it. I said, that in fact, was the reason we are doing this advert and we cannot afford not to have our logo described in Yoruba in an ad we will playing in a state like Osun & Oyo where majority of the voters are market women that may not identify 'C', 'P', 'C. I told them since most of these women know umbrella and broom, we need to imprint our logo into their mind too. I'm sure they know Buhari and most can even identify his face, but it's logo that will be on ballot paper. I was a little uneasy with them, and said despite the fact that the ad is very good, the absence of logo decription was inexcusable, so I ordered them to edit it for us describing the logo 'asia t'oni gege laarin'(flag with a pen across).

I have also paid 84,000 for OSBC to air the jingle for us, 2 per day for 4 days.

The darkness may have stayed for long, but the light will always take the day.

The fact about freedom is not in question, as we all know the true messiah.

late Alabi Lawal tried to rescue kwara from the clutches of slavery but his life was cut short by Allah(may his soul rest in peace).

Gbenga Olawepo under the platform of DPP a party the late Governor started took the mantle of leadership.

he struggled to free the state in the last election against the incumbent governor Bukola saraki, but his refusal to support the third term agenda of the then President Olusegun Obasanjo led to rigging his victory to second position.

This is a man whose life history is about fighting for truth and justice.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gbenga_Toyosi_Olawepo

He has stepped out again this time to ensure the victory delayed will not be a victory denied for the people of kwara .

in 2003 kwarans out of ignorance and a vengeful desire told the ilorin overlord that even if he brings a goat as governor, they will vote for it. now he has brought is daughter as governor to succeed his son, but the son think he his ready to be a godfather and so brought his own candidate,is partner in crime.

kwarans are crying for respite.

If kwaran reject the man who stand for justice, truth and equity, we may never be free from this bondage.

as far as am concern, Gbenga olawepo is the man who shall by the grace of God (Insha Allah) take kwara to the promise land of freedom.
Sorry my brother, I beg to disagree with you on Mohammed Lawal. Lawal was not fighting one bit for Kwarans but for his own pocket. How do you explain all the houses he build in Ilorin in his 4 years as a governor? How do you explain the cult boys and other thugs he used against the very same Kwarans particularly in his bid to win a second term. Lawal is my kinsman as we hail from the same Idi-akpe in Ilorin but I will never shy away from the truth. Lawal's tenure of 4 years pales into insignificance when compared with that of Bukola's 4 first years. Which legacy can you attribute to Lawal. As per Gbenga Olawepo. I wish him well, but I do not see him winning the election against the two heavy weights I mentioned earlier. Once again, if I am left with a choice between Gbemi Saraki and Fatai Ahmed, I will not think twice before casting my vote for Fatai.

How about conviction?  I don't trust Buhari as the commander in chief of Nigerian armed forces.  I don't trust his knowledge of what the economy needs.  I don't trust his human rights record.  I don't trust his record on freedom of the press.  I don't want to live in fear of govt harassment when the dictator inevitably starts messing up and you people start abusing him daily.  Under OBJ, I spent quite a lot of time thinking of how to make sure the home page was not perceived as anti-government, but under GEJ, I have no such fear and that's how men should live.  How about that?
Conviction? I laugh in Mandarin!

How about getting yourself informed that Buhari performed all those you accused him of under the rule of a GUN. He was a military head of state for crying out loud sake! We had the next military ruler in the person of IBB who gave the press just about all the freedom they requested, and what exactly do we have to show for it today? BTW, AIT was also threatened under GEJ's administration, hence your excuse of press freedom is very lame at best.

On economic issues, perhaps you also need to educate yourself with adequate information on how Buhari managed the economy in his time as head of state, an economic policy our current and well respected CBN governor extolled and termed Buharism. You can also research how Buhari managed PTF, and how he managed the constructions of 3 out of the 4 refineries in the country without any credible claim of financial recklessness or corruption against the man. BTW El-Rufai has come out to refute the false allegations against Buhari that he skewed the PTF projects to favor the north. El-Rufai made a startling revelation that PTF projects  were almost 50/50 along the North/South divide in terms of project costs.

Read the articles in the links below for some perspective on Buhari's economic policies in 1984/1985.
http://www.triumphnewspapers.org/WHY17112010.html
http://www.triumphnewspapers.org/why18112010.html

Lastly, Buhari will be coming in as a civilian president and would certainly not have some of the clout a military government had. Hence, your fears are completely unfounded. In a democratic space any journalist who makes false claims against the government will be sued out of existence. If Buhari makes the judiciary independent as he's promised in his manifesto, you need not entertain any fear. I know you've got some brains, please use it appropriately.

Every sane Nigerian knows that GEJ and his PDP gangsters are synonymous to 'shows of shame'. I called a distant uncle who resides in Kaduna this evening, even before I read about this new shameful act from the GEJ camp on SR, to ask him (my uncle) to support the Buhari/Bakare cause. All my uncle did was to keep screaming he'll be voting for GEJ and not for a Buhari who, according to him, will not win the election. I tried all I could to calm him down to no avail and had to end the phone conversation after I told him not to sell his vote and the future of his kids. During our heated conversation my wife kept telling me I could not force anyone to join the BB team, which I accepted. However, I told her that I know my uncle well enough, and that he must have sold his vote or given some money to vote for GEJ.

To my great surprise, 3 minutes later, my uncle rang me back and asked me to send him some money for him to mobilize for the BB team. I told him I wasn't interested and he argued that the only way he'll vote Buhari (and also help to mobilize others to vote Buhari) was for me to send him money, so that his conscience can be cleared from the money he's already collected from GEJ campaign. I simply told him, CPC and Buhari are not interested in buying votes, and that if he keeps having trouble with his conscience, he should simply return the money he collected from the GEJ team and vote the right candidate. My uncle is an artisan.

My encounter with my uncle a few minutes prior to reading the SR report about GEJ's latest bribe to the 9ja journalist only made it clearer to me that GEJ is not only desperate but is also draining the Nigerian reserve to win the elections.

In a nutshell, the SR report is most probably true!

How can you be so callously untruthful? You posted this same article under a completely different and false premise to denigrate Buhari as a hater of women and you are here making a very lame and false claim again. How low do you intend to descend before you realize that this calumny will be very bad for NL on the long run? I'm quite happy though the Nigerian youths saw through your lies and deceptions and even proved you dead wrong on the other thread you created.

If Buhari wins the presidential election, how will you hide your shame?

On a second thought Seun, you'll do a lot better by banning all BB supporters on NL, at least you will not have opponents of your choice of candidate. I hope your GEJ pay masters have given you enough cash to help you take NL to the next level! Crap! Front page ko, Back page ni!

This story has been posted before under a different title and in my opinion, there are other threads in this section more deserving of the homepage.
In case you are not aware, Seun posted the same story on the other thread after the very first thread on the same topic was created. Seun tried to deceive forumites on the other thread and was caught pants down. Front page or not, the story has created more awareness in those who have been sitting on the fence all along.

PoliticsRe: What Hasn't GEJ Done In 10 Months Of Being The President. by 9ijaMan: 5:47am On Apr 07, 2011
@Sagamite,
You have just beaten another Baby GEJ to a state of coma. While Somze keeps churning out false claims about GEJ's achievements, his references through the numerous links he presented undermined his arguments. To cap it all, Kobojunkies has also done a good job at exposing Somze's numerous lies.

@Somze, I'll advice you to simply continue to support your dullard candidate and stop making things worse for GEJ. By the time several neutral voters here on NL read your posts (and the replies of Sagamite and Kobojunkie) they would easily be swayed to the camp of the opponents. You have done more disservice to the GEJ campaign with your ignorant analysis. I'm certain that you would have realized by now that it's not everyone on NL that can be fooled by GEJ's imbecility which many have misconstrued for humility.
My advice to you: better keep mute and allow people to think you are a fool than confirming their thought.
