Tyo-Or man Angbyianev,
I am presently working in Katsina-Ala Diocese (Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Logo and parts of Buruku and Guma LGA). I reported here from Agagbe on 15th February, 2013.
The situation in Ukum, Shitile (Abaji, Tor-Donga, Kasar, Gbishe), Tongov, is beyond description by words.
1. The killings are more continuous by day and night!
2. The rubbery is door to door, person to person and by name. People are called out and shot without question. In other instances huge sums of monies are demanded. No one who has up to 500 yam tubers is spared... They know when you have two bags of rice or groundnut, if you dare pay your child's school fees you must tender the receipt as evidence when they visit, if you go for thanksgiving in the church you must give them some money because you have to the point of lavishing in church, at a point those attending funerals were stopped and asked to stage a mock burial and "er ve ku"! There has been indiscriminate kidnapping, felling of houses, carting away motorcycles at BEMOA branches! Its a lot worse than I can put down here. This has been going on for over three years now.
3. The roads from Katsina-Ala to Zaki-Biam, Zaki-Biam to Kasar, Amaafu through Abaji to Gbishe, Amaafu to Tyogbenda are blocked in broad day light and people are rubbed on daily basis sometimes more than once a day.
4. Whole families are burnt alive or ropes are tied round their necks having their eyes and tongues gorge out till they pass out and then grass and fuel are put on them and burnt in broad day light. Onlookers are forced to clap and smile while this goes on, etc.
5. An elder of about 80 years was butchered literally and his remains thrown on the street and was being guarded so that no one buried him or mourned for him.
6. General Malu was attached by youths who came on 30 motor bikes last week. One of his aids was shot and is said to have died days later. It was a gun battle where it is said the general had to be involved or else he was going down. The kids came for him.
7. These are done without faces being covered. The situation is a full blown gangster/mafia commando scenario (I wish I could have better choice of words).
8. You can never understand what us going on if you don't live in that axis. Every hour that one is alive is an hour of grace and thanksgiving. We are all potentially dead to the hour your finally breath your last. You never can tell hoe it gets to you because there is no predictable order.
9. Worse is that in the midst of all these, the Fulanis are cashing in so cheaply. How can Fulanis terrorists transverse whole Tiv terrain from the river bank through Anyiin and up to Mchia in Abeda and kill people and go back without a hitch?
10. How can killer Fulani herdsmen surround a parish and engage the special forces with confidence from 8pm to about 2am in the morning and then raze down houses and destroy property after being overwhelmed by the special forces?
11. OUR YOUTHS IN SANKERA ARE OUR GREATEST CALAMITY!!!!
12. So when Buhari and his cohorts say we have militia, we are our own killers, etc it is because our youths have sold us out and no one will ever listen to us even of we cry our eyes out and shout as we may and break the social media with our lamentations.
13. How can these kids attack their own, even a serving general ?
14. And who says angbyianev mba vesen mba genev fa kwagh sha kwagh ne ga?
15. Mliam ma ambe kpa ngee tsô.
16. There was indeed
"Ka mtem wase ilu tôô se foto ye"
Ka mo angôm wen

Mmuoojukwu: If there is anything that annoys Nigerians about apc, buhari and his government, it is the rare ability to tell monstrous lies, construct roads, railways and other projects on the pages of newspapers. Nigerians have been crying that they have not seen any project and challenge Buhari and other apc members to show the roads and other projects that gulped over 9 trillions in two years. |

In late 2016 or early 2017 they ambushed and killed military men that were sent in the area to flush them out. |

Enice: you are the one with a fake educational certificate. As usual, rushing to comment nonsense on an issue you know nothing about. Now it is a christian/muslim thing abi? Arepo is a community in Ogun state. When it was being liberated by government forces from cultist, militants and bunkerers, the headlines was "Arepo under attack by government forces" but was it the community that was under attack or the militants therein? Stop these rubbish. Do you know if these attacks are on the killer herdsmen, armed robbers or militants? You don't. It is a shame really that people now make comments without being backed by facts. I soul filled with hatred cannot reason properly, most of them saying there's an Agenda to wipe out an entire tribe have never been 100km close to Benue talk more of stepping a foot in the state but they sit behind a phone and talk nonsense. |

Mandeyy: I believe u and the other guy. I believe that some of these killings are not carried out by Fulani herders, rather political thugs who turned into thieves do them, and the govt is aware. Instead of doing something, they turn their eyes their other way. I'm Igbo, but i know the truth when i see one. Your evidence proves to me you're telling the truth. However, no matter how well intentioned this action of airforce may be, it's not proper, cos a lot of innocent souls may die in the process. Hahaha don't just judge by the headline "Bomb Villages" the Airforce have the capability to pick out targets and destroy them effectively. The media is misleading, this militia have camps in areas far away from the normal settlements those are the places the Airforce will target not entire villages. |

deadkamalu: i dont know what they want to achieve with such post, that axis houses a dangerous militia gang and their past time is killing, looting and kidnapping.
i know of a family whose aged father is still in captive and they are demanding 30million,i know other people who have paid ransom in recent past to these gangs. they kill people everyday but my worry is the silence from the state governor, even though audible evidence suggest these gangs once had patronage from past government why is the governor silent? That is the salient question begging for an answer, how are we even sure they are not involved in some of the killings attributed to the herders? If this issue is not logically looked at there's no end in sight anytime soon. |

deadkamalu: you are quoting the wrong guy,i am on the same page as you. My bad Bro that was a mistake... These guys will just bring sentiments to everything. These crises have been there for a very long time, no one will come out to say how some of the locals are involved in it. Sometime around 2014 when the herdsmen crisis affected Tarkaa, the locals were fueling it, sometime they raised false alarm to scare residents this in turn gave them unchallenged opportunities to loot people's property. |

You brought up the issue of Naka when I challenged you to name the numerous villages under fulani occupation now you're shying away because you are lying. Who was providing air support to the fulani militia in 2014 when they attacked then Governor suswam's contigent in Guma while on an assessment of a village that was attacked? |

How many Villages are between Naka and Makurdi? From your submission it is clear that Naka to Makurdi is a short distance of 25mins even on a bumpy road. Hence, it is not possible to have so many villages between Makurdi and Naka. SarkinYarki: Most villages on the Makurdi Naka road axis of Benue are being occupied by Fulani militia so much that the entire road has now been closed to traffic for 2 years plus now but you won't see in the news ...a 25 mins journey from Makurdi to Naka is no longer possible as Traveller now have to make a 4 to 5 hours journey going though Aliade to Otukpo then to Aroma before entering Naka township from the rear . |

SternProphet: The kind of amateurishness and childishness on Nairaland is very very irritating. Look at all this "modern leader" rubbish. What is modern about education?. Awo did it well in the 60s, the Governor of Osun State is doing it. Has Buhari not spent by double what Jonathan has spent on education?. Everything appears simple to the amateur. Nigeria lost two steps in human development index because of PDP. Whether you choose to believe this is besides the point.
We should have collected more taxes under PDP to channel into Teacher Training, Schools, instructional materials instead we were buying executive jets and importing Brazilian hair. Every two bit dumb Youth wants to go into Nolly wood or music. The fabric of civil society was sold on the altar of ease. You young people are in for some hell and I am not even sorry Well said, lots of them expect Buhari to do everything in one night. |

life2017: Do u know the cost of 1million teachers with 70,000 Naira a month? That is almost 1 trillion Naira a year.
Nigeria budget base on actual revenue minus death services cannot even meet the current recurrent expenditure.
Some of this things are easier said than done. Nigeria is a poor country. Most people think since the CBN is an agency of government they can just print money to take care of all these issues, the youths we clamour may even do worst. The other issue we have is the quick fix mentality of the Nigerian society. Lagos is fast progressing at this time as a result of consistency, As it is now every Lagos Governor will outshine his predecessor because of the solid foundation that is laid. |

Maybe if the so called coalition is well coordinated, SDP will be a contender. I don't think SDP will be considering the bashing Obadanjo is getting recently. Marvin67: Nice analysis OP. Let me just chip in that things haven't changed in the south south. You can only rig where the emotion of the people allow you rig. It is wrong to compare a senatorial election or even governorship election to a presidential election. APC won two senatorial slots in Rivers but the question is how? One was won by Magnus Abe , a very popular figure who went against an unpopular PDP candidate. The other was won in the court , you know what could have happened in the court, maybe if the case had gotten to the supreme court the judgement could have been reversed. Even Magnus Abe may not be in APC by 2019 , you know his issues with Amaechi. It would be very hard for APC to get up to 10% in the south south. Jonathan had ministers from all the northern states and even had the likes of sule lamido but the rigging didnt work .
A lot of things qould happen between now and 2019 . PDP has gone through the fire of a convention. Apc wants to go through one now . The convention would further tear apc apart .
The Candidate of the PDP also matters . An Atiku would pull more votesfrom the northeast. Dankwanbo would pull more votes from the south. Kwankwanso would do some damage to buhari presidency in the north west . If those 3 come together in PDP with the likes of sule lamido and an emir sanusi who seems to want a change then the PDP chance in the north is actually bigger than expected Atiku is no force in the Northeast, He can't even win Adamawa, Kwankwaso can only do harm in Kano against the Governor not Buhari and just like Atiku Lamido cannot deliver his state in a presidential election that Buhari is an actor. |
