I am presently working in Katsina-Ala Diocese (Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Logo and parts of Buruku and Guma LGA). I reported here from Agagbe on 15th February, 2013.

The situation in Ukum, Shitile (Abaji, Tor-Donga, Kasar, Gbishe), Tongov, is beyond description by words.

1. The killings are more continuous by day and night!

2. The rubbery is door to door, person to person and by name. People are called out and shot without question. In other instances huge sums of monies are demanded. No one who has up to 500 yam tubers is spared... They know when you have two bags of rice or groundnut, if you dare pay your child's school fees you must tender the receipt as evidence when they visit, if you go for thanksgiving in the church you must give them some money because you have to the point of lavishing in church, at a point those attending funerals were stopped and asked to stage a mock burial and "er ve ku"! There has been indiscriminate kidnapping, felling of houses, carting away motorcycles at BEMOA branches! Its a lot worse than I can put down here. This has been going on for over three years now.

3. The roads from Katsina-Ala to Zaki-Biam, Zaki-Biam to Kasar, Amaafu through Abaji to Gbishe, Amaafu to Tyogbenda are blocked in broad day light and people are rubbed on daily basis sometimes more than once a day.

4. Whole families are burnt alive or ropes are tied round their necks having their eyes and tongues gorge out till they pass out and then grass and fuel are put on them and burnt in broad day light. Onlookers are forced to clap and smile while this goes on, etc.

5. An elder of about 80 years was butchered literally and his remains thrown on the street and was being guarded so that no one buried him or mourned for him.

6. General Malu was attacked by youths who came on 30 motor bikes last week. One of his aids was shot and is said to have died days later. It was a gun battle where it is said the general had to be involved or else he was going down. The kids came for him.

7. These are done without faces being covered. The situation is a full blown gangster/mafia commando scenario (I wish I could have better choice of words).

8. You can never understand what us going on if you don't live in that axis. Every hour that one is alive is an hour of grace and thanksgiving. We are all potentially dead to the hour your finally breath your last. You never can tell hoe it gets to you because there is no predictable order.

9. Worse is that in the midst of all these, the Fulanis are cashing in so cheaply. How can Fulanis terrorists transverse whole Tiv terrain from the river bank through Anyiin and up to Mchia in Abeda and kill people and go back without a hitch?

10. How can killer Fulani herdsmen surround a parish and engage the special forces with confidence from 8pm to about 2am in the morning and then raze down houses and destroy property after being overwhelmed by the special forces?

11. OUR YOUTHS IN SANKERA ARE OUR GREATEST CALAMITY!!!!

12. So when Buhari and his cohorts say we have militia, we are our own killers, etc it is because our youths have sold us out and no one will ever listen to us even of we cry our eyes out and shout as we may and break the social media with our lamentations.
