Same scenario Tribunal Sacks Edo APC Lawmaker, and declares PDP candidate Winner in June 26, 2015 . "The Edo State Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Benin on Friday upturned the election of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Yakubu Gowon, as the lawmaker representing Etsako West II Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly. Gowon had been declared the winner of the April 11 state assembly poll and returned elected to represent the constituency, where Governor Adams Oshiomhole hails from, by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Justice E. Abuua held that the APC candidate was not duly nominated by his party. The tribunal explained that the APC’s notice of intention to hold party primaries, which he sent to INEC, was less than the mandatory 21days. It said the notice was given on November 13 2014, while the primaries was conducted on December 1, 2014. The tribunal, therefore, held that all the votes cast for the APC candidate were wasted and that the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Sylvanus Eriagha, who was the first runner up with 4,001 votes was the rightful person to be declared winner of the poll. |

After a long investigation it was gatheres that No where in the APC manifesto was 5k promised to unemployed graduate. The manifestoes said that the 5k would be paid monthly to the poorest and vulnerable people with conditions. I don't know why able bodied unemployed youth that should scout for empowerment and sponsorship got themselves into the dubious allegation of the opposition, by the way what will 5k do for you, this PDP senators asking for 5k for you would use that 5k to maybe to buy the cheapest bottle of wine and drink in a sitting. They are your enemies, they don't want us to progress. |

Dear Mr President It should be that the Federal Government and the ministry for Youths and Sport should be a force for good innovative and empowerement among the youths. Sadly, before now Nigeria has become synonymous with corruption and intimidation where dream killers in power kills the dreams of an aspiring youth, our society have become increasingly illiberal and fractious. What this nation desperately needs is a clean and caring, efficient and enlightened government that you had always promised, a government that would serve the youth so that the youth could be able to serve inturn. A government that serves the people instead of harassing them; that facilitates instead of obstructing; that creates opportunities for the greatest number instead of favouring a select few youths; that is fair and consistent, not vengeful and whimsical; that instils hope instead of spreading fear; that encourages initiative and entrepreneurship instead of killing it with Oligarchy. Twenty-seven years ago there was a buzz around Nigeria, We appeared to be a nation headed, almost inevitably, for superpower status as the youth are empowered and served, the Youth found a place in the heart of Leadership. Uk and Nigeria were spoken of in the same breath. That promise has clearly been belied. Growth has plummeted from grandeur to the ground, because the government no longer care about the youth. Corruption has become endemic, and is eating into the very soul of our educational system in this nation, morally and monetarily. It’s obvious that the priority of this government should be to get growth back as close to double digits as possible. But will that alone put Nigeria back in the superpower sweepstakes? A nation that cannot provide basic healthcare or education or housing to large swathes of its people, and where millions go without a full meal a day, cannot claim to be ‘developed’. Our socio-economic indicators are dismal — trailing, on several counts, even our neighbours Benin and Ghana. We tend not to take sports seriously (except football), but our shameful record at the Olympics is emblematic of a deeper malaise. Perhaps we should stop bothering about tags, and simply focus on doing the right things the right way, the youth must be empowered. Youth empowerment is the greatest leveller and redemption; it is the path out of the slum, the road to the high table. We are all prisoners of birth, but education has the power to snap the meanest bonds of economic and social enslavement. It’s the best investment the government can make in we youths and in our future. Today, almost 50% of Nigeria’s population is less than 25 years old. The government will need to ensure that the employment expectations of its skilled and educated youth are met – a need that cannot be fulfilled via government sector employment or funded schemes alone. The participation of the private sector is critical. Tax exemptions, grants for job creation, credits against tax payable, weighted deductions for the cost of new hires and their training costs are some of the variants used globally to encourage job creation in the private sector. Countries such as Hungary, Portugal and Switzerland offer tax breaks for investments that result in a specific number of new jobs. Luxembourg incentivizes both training and hiring – 10% of training costs and 15% of gross salary paid to persons who were earlier unemployed can be offset as a credit against corporate income tax. Direct incentive by way of a cash grant is available on newly created jobs in the Slovak Republic. The rewards of a youth empowerment approach in high-poverty communities are significant. There has never been a better time to invest in youth empowerment they are tomorrow’s leaders and if appropriate opportunities are made available to put their natural endowment to creative and productive channels, they are indeed capable of working wonders”. In conclusion it is globally realized that youth empowerment led the nation and prosperity for next generations. Now many countries are focusing their youth by investing heavily in education, health, skills development and leadership education. These steps brought on forefronts, ultimately these nations leading the world. Therefore we can say that youth empowerment is integral for national development especially for under developing countries where youth constitute majority of overall population. If our country focus more on youth development and empowerment it will led us towards long term prosperity. Those countries who invest heavily in their youth gets high returns on their investment in every sector. by @9jaclicktivist Micheal Adeniyi |

No one is perfect though, I myself I'm still struggling with these points below: 1. PLAYING VIDEO GAMES INSTEAD OF LOOKING FOR A JOB: video games can be extremely fun, but those games can sure take up a lot of valuable time that could be spent on more important areas of life. There is nothing wrong with playing them, as long as you balance the time needed for school, work and other important aspects of life. 2. SPENDING MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE: credit cards may seem like an easy way to pay for things you really want, but in the long run they could really hurt you if not properly used. Stick to cash, debit or checks. This may seem old-school but they will definitely help you manage your money. 3. USING THE TERM "YOLO": simple please stop using it. 4. ONLY GOING TO CHURCH TO FIND A RELATIONSHIP: not only will you hurt yourself in the long run, but you are also selfishly taking time away from a man or woman who is seeking after God's wisdom and guidance. You can definitely find a great relationship at church, but don't make that your only reason for attending. 5. CITING-"GOOGLE" ON A COLLEGE PAPER OR WORK PRESENTATION: it's not valid citation, and it could get you in some trouble. 6. THINKING YOU KNOW IT ALL. 7. DATING WITH NO VISION: you're confusing your heart, and you're hurting the hearts of others. 8. DEMANDING RESPECT BEFORE YOU'VE EARNED IT: don't get prideful. Learn to scrub the floors before you ask to manage the building. Don't let entitlement get the best of you. 9. WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THINGS: procrastination ain't good at all, before you know it your time's far gone. 10. GETTING IN ARGUMENTS OVER SOCIAL MEDIA. 11. BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR OWN MISTAKES. 12. RELYING ON YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER TO CONSTANTLY BAIL YOU OUT OF TROUBLE. 13. CALLING OFF WORK FOR NO REASON. 14. IGNORING WISDOM FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE OLDER THAN YOU. 15. THINKING MINIMUM WAGE IS WORSE THAN NO JOB AT ALL: don't believe that lie that money is everything. Any job is a good start. Give your full attention to any job, no matter the pay. 16. PRETENDING LIKE YOU DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER. 17. USING THE EXCUSE, "I'M TOO YOUNG": trust me dear, you're growing old everyday. 18. LIVING IN THE MOMENT, AND NOT PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE. 19. GIVING UP BEFORE YOU START. STOP MAKING EXCUSES. 20. BEING PASSIVE: if you don't stand for something. You'll eventually fall for anything. |
Buhari’s promise of minimum government, maximum governance will be successful and will cut down the expensive cost of governance, tho most opinionist and politicians have said that the undertaking was misplaced in the first instance and that a country like Nigeria big in size requires greater number of ministers, Today, Most matured democracies are keen to having a smaller cabinet with minimal number of ministers. In the wake of his small cabinet Buhari had been accused of using the minimun cabinet as a ploy to discredit the terminally-ill last regime. Some others said it was one matter to marginalise ministers and run the government with an iron fist with assistance from few political allies, but attempting to doing so at the Centre is a different ball game not in a diversified nation like ours. Buhari is a tough player and brooks no interference unto his goal of change and most of his ministers have also proved to be of equal mettle and will succeeded in inserting checks and balances. For decades, we have had extraordinarily large governments while ironically the quality of governance has been quite poor. While Buhari mantain a small-size Cabinet, his government must be very efficient in protecting human life and property vis-a-vis the quality of the justice, the completion rate of cases by courts. The investigation quality by the police must be very impressive to have a maximum security in a minimum government. In addition, the labour ministry have to become superior under him. Buhari will have to demonstrate that a good justice delivery mechanism and an entrepreneur-friendly environment is possible, even with a small and less intrusive government and the Welfare of workers must be monitored closely by this government to ensure maximum governance, corruption must also be fought to a standstill. The government must dedicate more resources and resuscitate the power sector completely. Accountability must be a must in this governance for a maximum greatness. by @9jaclicktivist Michael Adeniyi |

• New drug made from fruit can kill viruses including hepatitis C, flu • ‘HIV-positive people disproportionately affected by infection-related cancers’ SCIENTISTS have made a ‘wonder drug’ out of bananas that can kill off a wide range of viruses – including hepatitis C, flu and Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). According to the study published in Cell, it is hoped the new medicine will become a vital ‘broad spectrum anti-viral’ that could protect humanity from some of the most vicious diseases. The key ingredient is a protein found in bananas called banana lectin, or ‘BanLec’. It was first discovered five years ago – and considered as a potential AIDS treatment. But it caused nasty side effects that scientists have now overcome. The earlier research reported in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, in 2010, found that the lectin found in bananas can inhibit HIV infection by blocking the virus’s entry into the body. BanLec acts on the protein ‘envelope’ that encloses HIV’s genetic material. Now, scientists have created a new version of BanLec, which can fight viruses in mice – but does not cause unwanted irritation and inflammation. BanLec works by clinging to sugar molecules found on the surface of some of the world’s deadliest viruses. Once the drug has locked on to the virus, it is rendered harmless – and can easily be disposed of by the body’s immune system. In tests on mice, the new form of BanLec, called H84T, stopped them getting the flu – without the increased inflammation earlier versions had caused. The new variation also worked in the laboratory – on tissue and blood samples against AIDS, hepatitis C and influenza. The researchers believe the drug may even work on Ebola, as all of these viruses are covered in similar sugar molecules that BanLec clings to. However they warn eating regular bananas will not have the same beneficial effect, as the ingredient is a modified version of the chemical found in the fruit. Also, a new study conducted by researchers from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in partnership with the United States National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shows that in the United States (US), the proportion of cancers attributable to infections is 10 times as high in HIV-positive people as in the general population. The study is published in the journal AIDS. The study’s authors used HIV and cancer registry data from 1996-2010 to estimate the number of cancer cases attributable to infections. Of the estimated 6200 cancer cases that occurred in 2008 among HIV-positive people in the US, 2500 were caused by infections. Professor of internal medicine at the University of Michigan, United States, Dr. David Markovitz, and co-author of the paper, published in the journal Cell, said: “What we’ve done is exciting because there is potential for BanLec to develop into a broad spectrum anti-viral agent – something that is not clinically available to physicians and patients right now.” However several years of research still lie ahead before BanLec can be tested in humans. source : www.tapread.net/?p=573&utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork |

While Nwannekaenyi Kenny Okwu-Kanu, the ‘director’ of Radio Biafra is a globally recognized terrorist and fraudster who continues to hamper the perhaps legitimate struggles by Igbo youth for self determination, the write-up below explains the proper ways for Igbos to attain self-determination and a “Biafra” nation. Where the Biafran’s freedom Lies by Micheal Adeniyi The freedom of a territory within a country does not lie in the hand of the president, nor the senate, neither does it lies in the hand of Nnamdi KANU the popular Biafra “freedom fighter,” the power of freedom belongs to the people, freedom is never gained by the minority but the majority and to gain independence from a country more than 2/3 of a territory must determine through referendum or other means except violence (as is Kanu’s speciality) which could be regarded as terror against a Nation from a small territory. Let My People Go It is no lie that the only man on earth that have used the phrase ‘let my people go” successfully was moses and it was even a quotation from God, till date the phrase no longer work because it does not carry lot of people along, not just that alone, It sound rude to be said to the arms of governance in Nigeria. The let my people go does not work where there are much people with different opinion and reasoning, it does not bare their pain, it limit the people to being bound under a dictator and it relegates the IQ of all, sidelining everyones interest for a thinking of minor group of people within the proposed Biafran territory . Biafra Needs Unity Biafra as at today is a movement with much more factions, Nigeria is confused on which of them to grant independence, the Nation cannot afford to demarcate in between its original structures, A territory can be independent when more than 2/3 agrees to stand as an independent territory. Biafra Struggle Biafra cannot go because it has turned itself to an anti nation movement, they throw abusive words at Nigeria, they trigger war and it has grown to become a fraudulent cartel where people are being coarsed financially, physically and emotionally, Many are still battling with what the 60s, 70 and 80s war created by some small group calling for a Biafra nation caused. The Biafra struggle is a good struggle if it’s being done in accordance to the rule and law of separation, not by war or fight, no nation would concede lose to a small territory, “Biafrans” must learn. You might be thinking it’s about time to set up your own country. You’ve picked out a flag, written a national anthem, even printed up money with your face on it. But what’s the next step? Creating a new country isn’t as easy as you think. Biafra Freedom Lies Here Dear Biafra fighters, as tempting as it might be to declare your cubicle a sovereign state, customary international law actually does specify minimum standards for statehood and Independence. These are the fundamental requirements: *You must have a defined territory. *You must have a permanent population. *You must have a government. * Your government must be capable of interacting with other states Biafra haven’t met up with just one of this criteria, recognition by UN is also a guarantee for freedom, Nobody knows which group of Biafrans to recognise. As you can see, the point at which a territory officially becomes a country is very much in the eyes of the beholder, Its not about money or war that you are being told about, its about the power and sincere struggle of the sane populace. by Micheal Adeniyi @9jaclicktivist www.newsrescue.com/how-biafra-can-legitimately-achieve-independence-by-micheal-adeniyi/#axzz3pFGxLYHs |
In times like this, the progressives in Nigeria should create a ‘third force’ in our politics. A new independent political organization that will focuses on developing and advocating a reformative and transformative policy proposals and actively educates, agitates, organizes and lobbies to enact its agenda. Politicians should have learned by now that the change the APC President Buhari believes in and brought have relegated all other political parties across the Nation, even the largest party in Africa is nowhere to be found, with this development there is a problem, the nations politics would be elated to a one party system, and the true game of politics will be lost, without opposition democracy is rubbish, however in a country like Nigeria opposition should not die. Today the crucial task is creating a third force that tends to be too fractious and contentious to build this kind of umbrella formation that fell off the PDP due to corruption. A third force is good for our democracy because it would support major and third party candidates based on its agenda as well as utilize the option to run independent candidates. Moreover, a third force would not depend on electoral politics as the sole means of advancing a progressive agenda; it would employ non-electoral strategies and tactics such as mass protests, supporting strikes and labor actions, mobilizing/organizing around issues at the local, state, national and international level as a means of broadening the base of the progressive movements to effectuate real changes. The creative use of the Internet to disseminate information, galvanize action and raisingvfunds must also be part of the strategy of a third force to be successful. There are several other elements I could propose, but these ideas should suffice to make the case for a vibrant opposition. I believe in the vision and in the hope that the idea of a third force will gather momentum and come to fruition capturing the opportunity presented by the election of President Buhari may well depend on it, Nigerians are ready to flush out any non performing government and APC have been really doing great but without a strong opposition to APC dictatorship might loom around the corner, Third force in our politics could be the only alternative to any bad performing APC elected politicians. Third force will surely pave way for healthy competition among the progressive people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Micheal Adeniyi @9jaclicktivist |

The founder of the Confucius Peace Prize, a would-be Chinese rival to the Nobel, on Thursday defended this year’s award to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, who has often been accused of rights abuses. Qiao Damo, founder of the little-known China International Peace Studies Centre, which runs the accolade, told AFP that Mugabe had been recognised for his “outstanding contributions” to world peace. The nonagerian African leader beat nine other finalists, including Bill Gates, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and South Korean President Park Geun-Hye, he added. “If he hadn’t come to power in 1980, if he hadn’t played a role, how much talent would have been wasted!” said Qiao. The Confucius prize emerged in 2010 as a Chinese response to jailed dissident Liu Xiaobo’s Nobel award, which infuriated Beijing. Mugabe — who has had a close relationship with Beijing for decades — joins an eclectic roster of past winners, which includes Vladimir Putin and Fidel Castro as well as more mainstream figures such as Kofi Annan. In a statement announcing the award in September, the committee praised Mugabe for being “committed to building the country’s political and economic order, for the benefit of the Zimbabwean people”, and for his “strong support of Pan-Africanism and African independence”. Human rights groups and opposition politicians accuse Mugabe of overseeing the crippling of his country’s economy and brutal crackdowns, but the prize organisers dismissed their concerns. Qiao cited Mugabe’s “ability to stabilise Zimbabwe and at the same time promote peace in Africa” as chairman of the African Union. “Unrest is quite normal,” he said. “When America was first founded, it was also very chaotic, and Zimbabwe was only founded 30 years ago.” Writing on Zimbabwe’s Bulawayo24 news site, Gorden Moyo, secretary-general of the People’s Democratic Party, a Zimbabwean opposition party led by former finance minister Tendai Biti, described the award as “insanity”. “Mugabe as we know him and as the people of Zimbabwe have experienced his reign is a war-monger, a bellicosist and a sadist who delights in the misery of the people,” he said. The prize organisers, he added, “should hang their heads in shame for rewarding murderers who masquerade as peace makers”. An award ceremony — the honour is worth 500,000 yuan ($80,000) this year — will be held in December, Qiao said, adding the payment was funded by Chinese businessmen he declined to name. Foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told AFP the Confucius prize was “not affiliated with the government”. Qiao said the award was intended to balance the Nobel “from the perspective of Confucian culture”, as the Norwegian peace prize was “too extreme and not consistent with facts”. “The Nobel Peace Prize is built on the foundations of Western civilisation, but our peace prize is built on the foundation of Eastern civilisation,” he said. read more here www.tapread.net/?p=500 |

As a kid I use to think bribing someone with bag of money is something that happens only as trick in a screenplay: a hoax or imagination. Behold I grew up to the reality of cash being taken in fly cases in vans and paid as bribe. This avenue of wealth and prosperity is in fact feeding a frenzy of corrupt people that are quickly causing the decay in our societal morals and ethics. Nowadays, our national honour are for auction. Our student union bodies gives honour to drug addict, they behave like illiterates, We can no longer take pride in our abysmal Super power index of corruption in the world. Bribing is now considered an investment by many who seek government jobs. This investment, they assume, gives them a moral right to expect a return through more corruption. The public “servants” who dole it out seek greater investment. The honest and the financially weak often exit the government sector, only to reinforce this belief. The bureaucratic hierarchy itself is established based on the extent to which one can engage in corrupt practices, rather than on merit and honesty. The honest few with the determination to fight the system are either transferred to inconsequential roles or remain dejected and angry. The unabated corruption strengthens the power of public servants which is truly dwindling hope. For citizens and businesses, it is faster and more efficient to engage in immoral and illegal activities in their interactions with government. Those who can, or are willing to, engage in such activities are likely to have fewer headaches and greater rewards. Some activist argues that bribing as a means to achieve ends in an environment of pervasive corruption and archaic policies actually helps growth. But the system penalises honesty and weaken the citizens by means of bureaucratic delaying tactics. The Nigerian Judiciary is certainly not left out of corruption it had been a succesful source of dwindling hope it has turned to where justice, conscience and truth are sold out to the highest bidder. The irony here is that government “servants” who are supposed to facilitate economic growth in the NNPC,and corrupt free system in the Judiciary act like “masters” of Trade. It is unfair to blame all the problems on the government. A not-too-trivial fraction of private citizens and business owners are equally responsible for the situation, and private sector corruption could be dwarfing government-led corruption, we may never know. Private entities transact on an allcash basis in order to avoid paying taxes. Some business owners exploit labour without paying fair wages or subjecting them to pollutants and harsh working conditions. They inflate invoices for government subsidies or contracts. Some businesses receive thousands of acres of prime land at a fraction of the market value. A few businesses illegally tap into the electricity grid or tamper with electrical meters. A significant fraction of residential buildings do not conform to planning regulations. Businesses are set up without permits. Innocent farmers are exploited and stripped of their farmland hampering farm produce at a rates that are much below the market with the help of the the government. The private sector flouts rules and regulations, corruption becomes free to air. To prevent the exploitation by the corruption system the law makers and the law- enforcer who are also part of the corrupt system introduces greater regulations, inspections, and restrictions, without recognising that adding so-called “oversight” leads to even greater potential for corruption. In most countries “it is very nearly as difficult to stay legal as it is to become legal.” Therefore, regulations are a double-edge sword. On the contrary, pursuing the perpetrators of corruption has been a comical exercise. Here in Nigeria, less than 10 per cent of the government officials caught red-handed accepting bribes has been prosecuted. Even the laws are changed to make it harder to prosecute the culprits, The culprits now runs to a protection house called the senate for immunity against arrest and trial Maybe there is a need to think differently to put a lid on corruption and hopefully push it down incrementally but today Nigerians are facing Dwindling hope with corruption. It is high time the government fight corruption to a stand still. by Michael Adeniyi @9jaclicktivist |
